Best

great place to eat if your in Dallas.

Worst

I am not surprised to see another bad review about To Go orders. We are regular customers at Mayuri and they did accept our catering order (to be picked up) for about 13 people. ...

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/25/2012

As my friend was moving out of Dallas permanently went to dinner for final get to gather with other friends. since my friend haven't been to MAYURI during his short stay we had decided to go there on Monday evening. I have to say it was the worst tasteless Indian food i have had and the opinion was mutual across other attendee's.The menu was extremely overpriced for the quantity served ...especially we ordered MAYURI special chicken which was full of onions and the goat biranyi and curry was not cooked properly..wanted to complain regarding food to the waiter but he did not come to our table since the food had been served . Finally when waiter came to our table we complained about taste of food and he did not answer back to us.. when asked about manager waiter claimed there no manager available at that time..I have to say this restaurant had the worst service we have came across. Our Tab was around $90 for four and we all felt like there was no taste in food. I strongly recommend anyone not to go this place on special occasions or matter of fact any occasions..I promise that will be that will be the last time me or my friends will go there to eat. more

One of the worst Indian Restaurant 3/19/2010

Mayuri is one of the worst restaurant I have eaten in US. The food is not fresh and is not prepared well. They also takes lot of time to serve. I will never go to this place again. Cons: Food is not fresh more

No need to head east to Dallas : Best Lunch Buffet 12/7/2009

The practical Indian/American (almost came out American Indian!) dilemma - if the lunch buffet is so good, who's goes for dinner? WITHOUT Mayuri, once in awhile you have to have a fresh cooked a la carte dinner, where the spices and prep (and hopefully ambiance) just take you away and calms the exotic palette. Enter Mayuri, where the lunch buffet is delightful - fresh (maybe high turnover), and always seems to have at least two extra/more selections then the upscale-ish DFW competition. Proably a buck higher then second-best-buffet ( the Pasand's), but well worth it. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL INDIAN RESTAURANT ! Pros: Freshest, wide selection buffet Cons: None known, but never ate off menu, only buffet more

Never again! 5/22/2009

I agree with other reviews about their take out orders. I recently ordered take out for about 20 people. When i went to pick it up(on time), most of the items were cold and didnot seem fresh. When I enquired politely, they were rude and suggested that it will be ok if i take it home and heat it! more

Good South Indian food - decent rates 1/21/2009

Mayuri is primarily a South Indian restaurant and to that extent, their south Indian offerings are good. I would strongly suggest staying away from their north Indian offerings, till the time you are used to eating North Indian food cooked in South Indian way, with South Indian flavor and spices. Pros: Average South Indian food Cons: Can get cluttered and noisy, service deteriorates fast during peak times more

decent food, horrible service! 11/24/2008

I am not surprised to see another bad review about To Go orders. We are regular customers at Mayuri and they did accept our catering order (to be picked up) for about 13 people. The food was to be picked up at sharp 11 am for an office party. I confirmed this with the manage/owner when I personally went there to place the order, so no telephone conversation confusions...I even asked if I needed to call to remind them on the day of the pick-up, they said no need. I still called at 10.45, no body there was even aware of my order, I kept calling and finally went there at 11.15 to see what's happening. After waiting for another 15 min, finally I got the food. What surprised (?) me the most was that the owner/manager did not even have the curtsey to come out and apologies, forget about offering any discount on the cash only payment! He would not even talk to me even when I specifically asked to talk to him. Needless to say, I was highly embarrassed to be late to the party and keep everyone waiting for food! Won't recommend it to anyone anymore.... more

Forget abt Indian Resatuarant - Its Worst among all The restaurants 12/31/2007

I have been to Mayuri - Houston and moved to Irving recently. With impression I had with Mayuri Houston, I just went to Mayuri - Irving. Cons: Worst Food more

Worst customer service EVER!!!! 11/16/2007

My last visit to the place was a bad one .. the dosas were soggy but I gave them the benefit of the doubt ... enough to consider picking up a catering-size order for a party of 14 ppl. My wife and I visited the place a few days before to make an order and after being made to wait 10 minutes for the manager, we were greeted with a smile and he asked how many people were being served in the party .. the minute he heard it was 14, he brushed us off saying that's too small and they're used to bigger sizes. (ALTHOUGH their menu says they cater big and small). more

When the chef hits this place can not be beat 9/15/2006

Our family travels from Mansfield, S. Grand Prairie, and Cedar Hill to go to this place, usually once a month. Sometimes the food is just ok, but mostly it is outstanding, the lunch buffet is usually fair to really good, but the place shines at night. Tip don't go on a Monday, the main chef is off. The chicken tikka marsala thali (dinner) is a delight with little dishes that always are interesting and fun. There has always been A.C. when we have gone, maybe it was broken when the last person was there. Give it a try and make sure you go for a walk around the lake either before or after the meal, it is a treat. more

food was good, but not worth it 7/20/2006

Unexpected after hearing great recommendations and the fact it's in las collinas, but be warned that it's not air conditioned (which is even worse feeling when you're eating spicy food), the website was not accurate when describing what's available on the buffet, and the fact we saw two cockroaches crawling on the wall near the dishes, and I found a hair in my food... unfortunately it was too late to retreat to a different lunch spot. Pros: good food, quick lunch Cons: cockroaches, no a/c more
