Amazing!!! 1/22/2008

I have been to many restaurants all over the world and I can say that this was an interesting experience. I have come to realize that good service usually comes with good costumer in the first place. We had an excellent waiter who knew his stuff. He advice me and my friends about what's good without us even asking. When I was ordering the Iced Chocolate (which actually tastes like chocolate) he told me not to add the flavors because the chocolate is so natural and pure it would be a shame to mix it with chemicals. These little advices here and there make a dining experience that much better. The food was great (although next time I'm ordering only chocolate). The only suggestion that I have for this place is the decor and the table landscaping. Some of the tables were in the pathway and all of them were tiny. I wouldn't imagine giving this place anything but a 5 because of the excellent food and service. We are coming back. Pros: Great Food, Great Service Cons: Poor Decor, Bad Table Lanscaping, Tiny Tables more

good food and desserts, check out the east villiage location which is rarely busy 1/1/2008

i went to the less busy east villiage location for a late lunch. i stood at the entrance for 5 min when a hostess finally just told us to sit at the table by which we were already standing. then the waitress finally came to our table. she stared at us and we stared at her. i realized she was not going to greet my so i said hello and she responded by asking us if we were ready to order. she didn't even say hello, or make eye contact let alone as us if we wanted anything to drink to start. however, our lunch and hot chocolates were great but for a place that is supposed to be fun the staff really lacked that fun attitude we were expecting. so great food but depressing staff Pros: yummy food Cons: depressing staff more

Chocolate Heaven...Fondue is delicious. 8/27/2007

mmmm...chocolate....They recently improved the dining menu but the reason to come back here is the chocolate fondue. The cool thing about it is the roasting fire. We roasted everything before dipping it in glorious dark chocolate. The roasting is tons of fun, the chocolate makes you happy, and the entire experience is absolutely fantastic. Great for fun dates that are easy going. My faves from the menu are the Chicken Paella and the Chicken Ceasar Salad. On hot or cold days, the hot chocolates in the hug mugs starts you just right on the chocolate journey. Pros: Chocolate Fondue...roasting food and then dipping it in chocolate...sheer genius that is. Cons: The wait...but only because of the anticipation and delicious aromas while you wait. more

Great food, shame about the chocolate 8/19/2007

You could have a good meal here. Tasty sausages and all. Just don't expect high-quality chocolate. I find their stuff actually inedible. Admittledly I'm a dark chocolate snob, but after the reviews I was expecting more. Have dinner here by all means - it's rather fun - but go elsewhere for dessert. more

My favorite place in NYC! 5/22/2007

I take every visitor (and even non-visitors) to this restaurant and they have all loved it. My recommendations are the chilli spinach crepes and milk chocolate hot chocolate. Healthy food has never tasted so good! They have a cute little gift shop that sells hug mugs. You'll know what I mean when you try the hot chocolate. The place looks like Willie Wonka's chocolate factory. Service is excellent and unlike some of the other reviewers claim, I would argue that the wait is more than worth it. Just make sure you get seated on the lower floor, because the upper floor is small and not ideal for people watching. I highly recommend Max Brenner. Pros: dinner, desserts Cons: upstairs seating, wait more
