Do your research and it will pay off. The mark up is astronomical at places like Mattress World and Sleep Country. How can it not be with the advertising they do? I know shopping for a mattress isn't a whole lot of fun but believe me, spending a day shopping around, finding the mattress you like and then learning about the coil count and makings of it will save you an easy grand! Sure it made for a stressful, boring day... but with that thousand bucks I can now buy a new couch. The stores won't price match unless it's the same mattress & they like to trip you up by putting different fabric covers on them and labeling them with different names and sku numbers. I wouldn't have even known this had I not walked into Shleifer Furniture after having been to Sears, Macys, Sleep Country and the Mattress World right up the street earlier that same day. Not to mention the service at Mattress World was appauling! I had a very similar experience to Guppiesmybc. Clearly things haven't changed much in the last couple of years. The sales person that helped me at Mattress World had no patience for my shopping around. more

DO NOT BUY HERE! 12/8/2011

My experience with Mattress World has to be probably the worst experience I have ever had with any store. On Black Friday, we purchased a bed from a guy named Ryan V. G (as stated on his business card) He spent about 2 hours helping us find a bed within our budged but that would meet our sleeping needs. After several hours go by we finally have a bed picked out. As we are paying and finalizing the transaction I ask what their return/refund policy is and he says ""you can get a refund between now and delivery or exchange your bed within 90 days for a different one."" I ask, but the receipt says no refunds, he says"" oh yeah, but we dont follow that policy, heres the policy we follow"" as he hands me the new policy from a different invoice. I asked him if he was sure and he says ""yes!"". A few days later we descide that we no longer want this bed since its due to be delivered until December 10th and my back can not wait till the 10th. Close to 3 weeks after the purchase. We descide we want to buy a better mattress from Sears for a better price. We call Mattress World and ask for a refund. Ryan V.G Says ""Ohhh, I can not give you a refund, call back on Thursday"" Sorry Ryan, I need the refund now. ""Ohhh, yeah, I can not give you a refund, but I can give you a different bed"". Sorry Ryan, I need a refund or a price match to Sears. ""Ohh yeah I can not give you a price match for that bed, its cheaper that what we sell it for"" Yes Ryan, hence its called a price match, which you advertise in all of your TV commercials and website. If you are unable to price match please refund the money. Good old Ryan had us call corporate. This is where the story gets good. We call corporate and everyone claims that there is no refunds and I can not cancel the delivery either. At one point a lady from corportate told us that VISA had taken away their machines and they could not do refunds. I was surprised at this since I was in the Mattress World in Jentzen Beach the night before and the same visa machine that took my payment was the same machine that was still there. She had the nerve to say that I was lying that there is no way that the machine was there because VISA took them all weeks prior. Well, then ""how did you take my visa payment?!"" She went silent and directed me to file a claim with VISA. So we did! VISA returned all the monies paid out to Mattress World. On Saturday, December 3rd, 2011 3-4 days after VISA refunds the money the door bell rings and there is Mattress World deliverying a bed I did not want. The Delivery guys cheerful as could be asks where I would like the bed to go. Sorry, Delivery guy I cancelled the order at least 6 times. ""Oooooh"" says delivery guy. ""Well where would you like me to put it?"" Delivery Guy I do not want this bed, I was refunded my money by VISA. You need to take it away! ""Oooooh, I cant do that!"" Delivery Guy says. Delivery guy please step down from our Porch and take the bed away. Delivery Guy ""So you are refusing the delivery?"" Yes, We are refusing the delivery!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow. I am still in awe of this whole mattress dilemma. Everyone at Mattress World just seemed to believe that if they just told you ""ooooh you can't do that"" that they would automatically just get their way. Needless to say after dealing with the snakes at Mattress World for 1.5 weeks I know have a luxury bed from Sears for 1/3 of the price I would have paid at Mattress World. Some of the stories from the managers, sales people, and corporate were ""Get Out!"" of this world ridiculous! Truly disappointing. So if you're considering buying a mattress from mattress world........ITS NOT TOO LATE TO PURCHASE FROM SEARS!!!! more

Run the other way. 9/28/2011

Buyer Beware ! ! ! 4/17/2011

They don't even deserve a single star rating. Worst buying experience in my life. Sales guys are trained by owner so they are all equally as ""sleezy"". Forgot about the so-called ""comfort guarantee"", it costs you BIG! They sell you a mattress and if you're not totally satisfied and want the exchange, WATCH out. They got you hooked and make you pay. Original purchase was xx discount but the exchanged mattress can't be discounted. Plus a warehouse restocking fee? Delivery charge I expected but . . . Terrible sales guys. Yes, even the son that is so sweetly represented on the commercials can't be trusted. Someone said it in an earlier review (which I wish I would have read first), these guys remind me of car salesman from 20 years ago. Even the car dealerships have figured out this type of customer treatment doesn't work. Don't buy here! more

Horrible 3/22/2009

I stopped by this location as I was making a donation to the Goodwill next door. I told the sales man on a number of occassions that I would not be buying a bed today, I just wanted to research as I plan to buy one in the next couple months. I was the only customer in the store at the time. In addition, I took up less than 10 minutes of the sales person's time. After I was done looking, I thanked him for his time I told him I'd be back when I was ready to buy. He thanked me for ""completely wasting his time!"" I pointed out that I was the only customer in the store and didn't feel like I had held him back from another sale. He responded that ""It didn't matter. If you aren't here to buy a mattress, you shouldn't have wasted so much of my time."" I was in shock especially as I told him multple times that I was not going to buy a mattress today. When I do buy a mattress, there is no way I would buy one from this store.\r I went to Macy's after, found the same prices and much politer sales people. In less you enjoy being bullied by sales people and yelled at, avoid this store! Pros: Large selection Cons: Very rude sales people more

Run as fast as you can and hope they don't chase you! 7/26/2008

This is not the place to go to buy anything. Beware of the sales people, they will tell you what they think you want to hear! Watch out for the deals that sounds good, they are probably selling you a used mattress. Go anywhere but here. The prices are not worth the hassle if you have a problem with the mattress. Ask about their return policy and compare it with the top mattress stores and it is obvious. They are crooks. Pros: tons of locations too many to count Cons: awful commercials and terrible sales practices more

What a horrible Experience! 7/26/2008

This place is full of bad sales men who ar lacking education! They will sell you anything. Before buying anything , take a step in another mattress store and you will know right away the difference and you will never walk back into a mattress world. They stalk you and can't answer the questions that you ask unless it is about the price. The products are cheap. Son bought a mattress that was awful and tried to take it back within 30 days and they would do nothing for him but send out a warranty technician. What do you do while waiting 2 weeks for the warranty technician. Stay away. The prices are not that good! more

Horrible Customer Service Stay away 7/26/2008

Go to a different store to buy a mattress! These people are rude, uneducated about their products and could care less about customer service! If you buy here, prepare to have issues with your mattress and needing to buy a new one within a year. Save your money and go elsewhere. Pros: Nothing Cons: Terrible Customer Service more

I thought car sales was badQ!!!! 3/6/2008

I walked into mattress World to just look, but was chased around the store by an overlly eager sales person. He seemed like all he wanted was to discount discount, and didnt seem to care what I liked. Although they had a great selection they carried some brands I had never heard of, when I asked them to compare a Sealy I had seen advertised at Costco they told me Englander was a better brand and that Sealy bed at Costco was not built to Specs. After a little digging online I found out that Englander is A franchised brand meaning there quality is never consistent from plant to plant and I also found out that the sales person was lying about the bed at Costco. It had in fact 782 coils compared to the Englander at Matterss World with a little over 400. As I left the sales person almost followed me to my car saying I will sell it for $575.00 then he dropped to $475 and it just got really embarrasing for him almost desperate. Pros: Alot of beds on the floor to Choose from Cons: You can not walk around the store without a sales person attacking you more
