GO TO THE MALIBU LOCATION!!! Awesome food, good service, total ""happy place."" Great food but horrible customer service 2/25/2007

This place is a great place to have breakfast. The portions are big and the food is great, especially their french toast. I wish I could say great things about the customer service as well but it is just horrible. Our waitress was not too friendly and she took the wrong order for my friend who ordered oatmeal with her meal but brought french toast instead. She never came by to our table to ask if everything was okay and the only time she came was to clear our plates, give us our checks when my friend was not even done with her food, and to take our payment which was the only thing she was quick about. I would go back for the food but would maybe try a different location to see if they have better service. Pros: Breakfast is excellent Cons: Horrible service more

Finally a place that's chic with healthy food items that actually taste good! They serve soy milk, scrambled egg whites with tofu, and fresh bowls of fruit just to name a few of the healthy items. In L.A., where skin is in, that is music to my ears! The pancakes are the size of a dinner plate and the fruit topping is the fresh stuff not the kind that is pulled off a grocery shelf that was really meant as a pie filling. But just because it's healthy don't think our breakfast wasn't tasty! Each portion was huge and it was de-lish!! We had good service and they made sure the coffee kept on coming. And for those of you who live to eat, there were other items on the menu to keep you happy. Not every item is sinful but there is enough to make you want to cheat! Maybe Skirt Steak Mexicali & Huevos? How about an omelete with your choice of 15 items to add-in? If you are craving something hearty or maybe something sweet, you'll find it here! Pros: metered street parking, nice sized portions more

I can't belive the manager does not do something!!! Look how many reviews state bad service. It takes forever to get your order even taken, and longer to get your food. I got the wrong order and then by the time my food came my friend had been done for 15 minutes. We were never offered more drinks or anything. The drink I ordered never came but my friends did? I kept asking for mine ( a soda) and it still never came and then was on the bill. When I mentioned it the waiter just looked perplexed and said he did not know what to do about it. I told him that the cost of the drink was his tip so if he wanted it he would have to find a way to get it after we left. OVER 2 HOURS FOR A BASIC ONE COURSE MEAL!!. The food here is pretty good, and the prices are rather reasonable, but the service is terrible. Our waiter took forever to finally get our order, and the next time we saw him was when we were trying to flag him down for the check. Marmalade has a nice cottage atmosphere, and like I said good food, but it is really a hassle when you cannot get ahold of your waiter and your order is screwed up. This place also gets pretty busy, so expect a wait on weekends. I'd recommend this place if it was a relaxing exprience but it really wasn't. Do not go there, especially when you like good food and excellent service. My experience with this restaurant was just horrible. First of all the waiter forget my starter, then he mixed up my boyfriend order and when my boyfriend told him very kindly to change it because he is allergic for crab he was rude and that was the last time we saw him. We were waiting for at least for an hour to clean up our table and no dessert was offer. The food is avarage and the service is just very very bad. Thanks for my boyfriend sense of humour our saturday night dinner was saved. more
