If you're interested in Caribbean food, DO NOT go to Marla's!! Your food will come out at very different times and if you question the owner or server about why the disparity, they might tell you to pay for the food and leave. Before you eat anything. This just happened to my wife and I. The owner, Marla, proclaimed that ""this is her house and she makes the rules"". So, no questions, no dialogue, just leave or she will call the cops. \r Just say no to Marla's! more

Good Caribbean dishes 11/19/2009

My husband & I went to Marla's for lunch on a Friday and the owner/chef waited on us herself. We each tried a glass of Soursop & Peanut Punch and they were delicious. Quite unlike Coke and Pepsi. The stew brown down was an explosion of wonderful flavors. The Callalloo was mostly spinach. I was sort of disappointed since the menu described it as a combination of okra, crab and spices. After we placed our orders Marla said it will be 15 minutes and she kept her words. She has a website where you can see the menu in detail descriptions and her background. We will definitely go back and try other items. Pros: Intimate atomsphere more
