I was greeted by a chocolate lab at the door, and then spent the next 45 minutes choosing my engagement ring. I had so much fun here, and sent my boyfriend here. The salesman made him feel so comfortable, and the ring will be done soon...I can't wait!!! more

Their jewelry is gorgeous! My engagement ring came from here and I stop in when I am in Soho to check if they have anything I can pick up for myself! They have beautiful engagement rings and wedding bands, but also have jewelry for everyday outfits, as well as a lot of Rose Gold pieces. Yay! I love this beautiful, charming store where the chandeliers sparkle as much as the diamonds and the staff! more

This place has gorgeous jewelry and a staff that ""bends over backwards to please"" to quote my fiance. My diamond studs and engagement ring came from here and most importantly, I and my fiance love it, but I get complements galore! The environment is both friendly and beautiful but the star is the jewelry. Tip: They will show you diamonds to pick from if you prefer to go the custom route, which my fiance did for my ring. The studs, he bought right off the shelf, but they are unique none the less. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/6/2012

Deceitful, belligerent, and rude. My fiance had purchased a custom engagement ring from Marisa and Doug last year. It was a three stone ring with a micro pave design. When I got the ring it had a big scratch on the band and was missing a diamond on the micro pave. I was so happy to have the ring and thought it would be too much trouble to bring it back for repair so I didn't say anything. My fiance recently brought it back to have it polished before our wedding and mentioned the fact that they gave us an incomplete ring. Marisa said they would have the diamond put in at no charge. When he returned to pick up the ring he questioned a charge for the diamond after Marisa had quoted him only $20 for the cleaning and clearly said ""there will be no charge on the repair."" When the employee called Doug to confirm this, he became immediately belligerent over the phone and said that Marisa never said anything about it being free. He made no attempt to be cordial or professional and without provocation was incredibly rude. We can only assume the smiles and warmth we had previously been greeted with were fake and manipulative. I would NOT recommend them, but anyone that goes here should be prepared to get pushed around for less-than-exceptional craftsmanship. more

Transparent. Trustworthy. Caring. Marisa's sweet personality set me at ease while shopping for my engagement ring 2 years ago. I ended up with the ring of my dreams & have not had a single problem with it. My husband & I went to 2 other jewelers before finding Marisa Perry. The other places were so cold, stressful, & made me feel like they were just talking me up to make a sale. It was the complete opposite at Marisa Perry. more

I really enjoyed working with these guys. I had very specific diamond specs I was after, and they provided several options. My fiancee is thrilled with her ring and gets compliments on it daily. I look forward to choosing wedding bands with them when the time comes. more

In short, my ring-buying experience 6/11/2012

In short, my ring-buying experience didn't feel all that different than the hawkers on 47th Street. They worked hard to push specific diamonds with ""great deals"" and didn't have much patience for me. The owner stated, ""we'll find you the stone, and then have a setting designed for you in 15 minutes"". Made me wonder what kind of 'custom' work is being done? more

lifelong customer relationship 1/16/2012

Marisa and Douglas make an exceptional team, and in return, the customer gets a high level of personalized service and a high quality, often customized, finished product. The relationship started with engagement ring shopping. My fianc? was intrigued by their unparalleled micro-pave work. While I had a good idea of what my fianc? was looking for in a ring, I visited a number of jewelry stores ? Harry Winston, Tiffany?s, Cartier, Van Cleff & Arples, Kwiat, among others. After all, this was one of the more costly purchases of my life, and definitely the most meaningful one, so I was determined to get it ?right?. Marisa and Douglas set themselves apart on a number of levels ? (1) custom nature: I liked being able to pick the loose diamond that would be set. Looking at pre-set diamonds was not the same. Douglas brought in about 10 - 15 loose stones within certain parameters that allowed me to assess the trade-offs between carat weight, cut, color and clarity ? we narrowed it down over time and found the stone that exhibited the features that I valued most; (2) patience: the team at Marisa Perry worked many hours to earn my trust and the sale ? they taught me some of the nuances of diamond industry and demonstrated a sincere eagerness to deliver a high quality product that would leave my fianc? elated; (3) value: after comparative shopping, I?m convinced that I could not have gotten a better value (high quality for the price); (4) ring setting: my fianc? wanted a specific type of diamond, but the setting was of equal importance. The Larisa setting is unique because it allows the wedding band(s) to fit flush against the engagement ring. For instance, the comparable setting at Harry Winston does not allow for this fit, which leaves space between the engagement ring and wedding band; and (5) boutique feel: the experience was more than a simple business transaction. Marisa, Douglas, Bob, Roberto and others have went out of their way to make sure that I am a satisfied customer. In addition to the engagement ring, I have since purchased our wedding bands which were also customized and engraved. Furthermore, I purchased a custom set of diamond earrings that match the design of my wife?s engagement ring. When my wife and I returned from our honeymoon, Marisa Perry set some loose pearls in a pair of earrings and a necklace. In short, they can do it all, and they turned a single sale into a lifelong customer relationship. Their quality is very comparable (or better) to top notch, well known stores, and their service is awesome ? highly personal and professional. I highly recommend that you visit their boutique store or their website and see what they can offer. more

Great Place 1/8/2012

My now fiancee told me to come to Marisa Perry (Soho) if and when I was ready to buy her a ring and make things official! Unbeknownst to her, this store was also recommended by a group of my colleagues, who got their rings here. They were happy and I knew that Jenna, my fiance, liked the style of their micro-pave work. Well, I agree with my friends at the office, I had another fantastic experience with both the owners and the staff. I found them to be kind, fun and have my best interest at heart. The ring was ready earlier than promised and my fiancee is in love with her ring! And so are her friends and family. Great Job Marisa Perry Atelier! Thank you for making this process so enjoyable. more

Ruined the proposal week; a diamond eventually fell out too. 11/18/2011

Went into Soho with high hopes after reading all the good reviews; found a great looking micro-pave engagement ring at Marisa Perry; the owners and staff were very friendly and I got the ring at a nice price. I gave them the ring size and received the ring in the mail shortly thereafter. more

Tell the world 11/11/2010

How do people not know about this place. It honestly is the best big little store in new york, or it's a little big store, but htey have so much stuff crammed in this place. Everything I'm wearing today, i got from Dave, and I swear, head to toe covered for under $200. If you hate to shop at department stores, and can't afford 300 dollar jeans (cause your rent is too high!) then you need to shop at dave's. They have the classics, the basics, and the stuff that stays with you for a long time. Keep up the good work guys, i'm sure i will be back soon. more

Killer rings! 8/3/2010

Omg, I went in here and the salesman immediately insisted that I try on a 6 carat yellow diamond, just for fun! I don't know any other store that would let anyone do that unless they were ready to buy it. Sadly I didn't get to keep it, but I did get a really pretty pair of yellow pearl earrings instead :) Super sweet salespeople and the store itself is beautiful. I'll be back for that yellow diamond someday... Pros: Gorgeous designs more

I Love My Rings! 5/23/2010

I cannot tell you how grateful I am for all of the time and attention Douglas put into designing and perfecting our rings. I am not a ""jewelry person"". However I am a person in touch with her own aesthetic sense and I definitely see myself as someone who appreciates beauty, and I LOVE my rings!!! I knew that I would appreciate any ring that symbolized my inexplicable bond with my husband, and I was willing to believe that time and care in the crafting of those symbols were important in bringing about products that really represented ""us"", but I had no way of knowing how much a part of me my rings would become. I credit not the preciousness of gems or metals for bringing me to this realization, but Douglas and Marisa - for getting to know us and creating an environment in which we felt entirely comfortable expressing our preferences, changing our minds and allowing our vision to fuse with their own to bring about products that are all at once uniquely our own and yet are still very much ""Marisa Perry"". Pros: Personal Customer Service more

Appreciation 5/23/2010

""The Best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart."" Marisa and Douglas are a talented, creative and loving couple. I can see it through the craftmanship of their work. I want to thank them for creating the ring of my dreams. I can't stop staring at it - it is so beautiful! Their art will be a part of my life everyday. Pros: Quality and Customer Service more

So much fun!!! 5/4/2010

Well, I stopped into Marisa Perry to get out of the rain and ended up staying for an hour trying on rings. The salespeople were really friendly and immediately recommended the right shape diamond that would look best on my hand. I always thought I'd want a round diamond, but now that they've tried every shape on my finger, I'm converted to emerald cuts! My boyfriend has an appointment there next week and I can hardly wait to see what happens! If you're in the market for engagement rings, I totally recommend this place...gorgeous rings, and you'll have a great grasp on diamonds by the time you leave. Pros: super helpful, beautiful rings! Cons: i can't afford every ring in the store more

I won't go back 4/5/2010

The jewelry when you walk in is beautiful. It is really quite a stunning place. I'm sad to write a negative review however I bought a very pretty cocktail ring from them, not too pricey, it was just under $1000. It's not an everyday purchase, and I splurged because it was so unique and pretty. Pros: Absolutely beautiful jewelry Cons: Poor service and quality more

Great place for engagement rings, wedding bands, diamonds 11/30/2009

These people are so great that the only way I know how to thank them is by coming on and making it public. All I knew was that my fiancee wanted a 3 carat cushion cut. I did a lot of research on diamonds / rings, both on line and in all of the requisite Fifth Avenue shops. My friend recommended Marisa Perry. I found their workmanship heads and shoulders above anything I saw elsewhere. Douglas Elliott sat me down and showed me a nice selection of diamonds and the differences between color, clarity, cut. etc. which made it easier to select the best stone in my budget. The ring turned out crazy beautiful, her friends can't believe it and I made her mom and dad happy. But most of all, she absolutely loves it, said yes and I really have to thank Douglas and Marisa for making a difficult task, such a pleasure, from beginning to end. They really put their heart into this ring, which money can't buy. But my money bought more here than other places I shopped! Real Value in every way! Pros: great prices, incredible workmanship on rings Cons: none, that's the good part! more

Wonderful Products, Staff, and Service! 11/7/2009

had SO much fun here. I went to look at engagement rings at about five o'clock on a friday and discovered a few people having a glass of wine to celebrate another customers engagement. I felt bad at first for interrupting but they made me feel so welcome and immediately offered me some wine too! A salesperson instantly got up and focused on me and my many questions! My fiancee and I ended up getting a beautiful vintage inspired setting. We got to choose our own diamond and everything. I get constant compliments on it and the designer was really thorough when meeting with us, and made us feel very special. I plan on getting my bridesmaids gifts here too. Highly recommended! Pros: Service, designs, prices more
