The pizza is always hot, fresh and crispy.

Their lunch specials are great 2 sliced of pizza and a soda for a good price (even though my soda is often forgotten so remind them) but the pizza is the best New York Style. I like to dip it in a side of individual Alfredo sauce that is also very yummy from time to time. more

Our first and last time ordering from Mario the Baker NMB. We ordered mac n cheese bites that arrived cold and tasting like pure oil, incredibly nasty. The baked ziti and eggplant parmesan arrived hot bland and below par just cheese pasta and a whole lot of tomatoe sauce. The only thing we truly enjoyed were the garlic rolls and dessert. This certainly was not worth $50. Don't the messager this is the god honest truth. more

Been going here since I was a baby. I love the pizza, baked dishes, and garlic rolls (they're as greasy as they should be). more

When in Miami Shores this is the best italian food in that area. \r They deliver and also cater for most of the companies in the dade and broward area. Now we use them for all our parties. My kids won't get out of the car if we go to any place else in the Miami shores area. more

The food is still okay i find the pasta to be very under seasoned. The pizza is definitely unrivaled in the area. more

Didn't try the pizza but the pasta wasnt good at all. Underseasoned and flavorless. Garlic rolls were huge but very greasy and not tasty at all. more

It's not fancy, it's not expensive, but they serve great pizza. They also have a somewhat diverse basic italian menu & everything we've had at this local pizza joint has been outstanding. more

Tolerable. 1/17/2008

There was nothing there that I would call superior, but they committed no major mistakes, either. I had a pepperoni pizza, and the cheese, the toppings, the sauce, the crust, were all nondescript. The service was indifferent, despite the restaurant being half-empty.\r \r I do remember it being affordable, but I'm used to paying a quality price for a quality pizza. You can do better if you care to. Pros: Cheap. Cons: Cheap. more

Worst Food Anywhere 7/15/2006

The food is undercooked, flavorless and all around a waste of $$. I have been a few times and will NEVER go back Cons: Food, food and the food more

NO TIME FOR FAST FOOD(unless its MARIO'S) 5/18/2006

I eat lunch at the downtown location often. I work at fedex and our agents order delivery almost every day. Of course downtown your not limited to where you can eat. The quantity is high. The problem is the quality. Although the location isn't great on the outside ( HELLO IT IS DOWNTOWN MIAMI) the inside is very clean and the workers are great. They all make me feel like im apart of the family.( YOU WON'T SEE TWO CO-WORKERS FIGHTING OVER WHO WILL SERVE YOU) I LOVE THIS PLACE ( not to mention when i only have 5 dollars for lunch i can get 2 slices of pie and a soda!) Pros: inexpensive, great service, made my way (fast) Cons: parking, location(downtown), small seating area more

NOT IMPRESSED... 5/4/2006

I took a visit to Mario the baker after reading the reviews on City Search . The restaurant's facilities itself are just your average mom and pop pizza store design. The service , mediocre at best. The food was not impressive at all. In the restaurant you see alot awards and accolades which this place has received, I just didn't see what merits such awards here. The food (baked ziti) was generic in taste and design. The famed "" garlic rolls' ? More like semi-stale bread knots , dripping ( literally!!!) with an oil / garlic / parm cheese syrup which will drip all over your clothes if your not careful. Overall : NOT IMPRESSED . Pros: Italian Food, Quick service Cons: Rude Service, Food more

NYC-approved pizza 7/27/2004

You might want to lock the car doors on your way there, but after tasting the pizza you'll be smiling. Although the large pie we picked up lacked in size (13"" dia.) we were very pleased with the gelling of hot thin crust, gooey moz and tangy gravy- though onions were sparse and carelessly tossed. Garlic knots resembled pastry puffs topped with excessive dried parsley - didn't find the gem here. Spaghetti and ravioli were al Dante (gummy) but the sauce saved them. And a spicy meatball! Good prices, savor the pies. Pros: sauce & crust, price, service Cons: , neighborhood, no delivery more

Italian Ambrosia!!! 6/14/2004

I grew up in North Miami. I now live in Orlando and do not think twice about visiting Greater Miami and of course 'our' Mario The Baker. I MUST visit and eat, nothing has changed! Better NOT! Maybe a few faces and the red shelving to the left just inside as you walk in...Ha Garlic Rolls? I have NOT found or are not duplicated anywhere else in my 56 years on planet earth. I take a bag home and freeze, not quite the same nuked BUT their Mario's....YUM! Pros: Incredible Pizza, Awesome food, All around YUMMY!!! Cons: , I'm not there now! more

Garloc Rolls.... 5/13/2004

Born and raised 5 minutes from the center of the universe, I can testify that Mario's (and John the Baker) has the ultimate food.... garlic rolls. These garlic rolls should be on a list that includes the Holy Grail and the Ark of the Covenant. They should be guarded at Ft. Knox, or displayed to aliens as an example of what Earthlings can do. I think they cure cancer. I would name kids after them. You can not over-exaggerate the beauty of this food. Pros: garlic rolls, pizza, experience more

not mulberry street 11/3/2003

No, West Dixie Hwy is not Mulberry Street, and I don't get the same feeling looking at auto tag agencies, however the food is reasonable, not amazing, and they should get with the 90's and accept debit or credit cards for Christ's sake....... more
