I thought Mariebelle's was decent, but nothing beats Chocolate Bar for the best chocolate in the city.

MarieBelle Chocolates has very good chocolate and I enjoy going there every once in awhile for their Aztec hot chocolate. They have this bar called the Cacao bar where you can drink the Aztec brew and get that chocolate buzz going on. The chocolates are very expensive so go only when you really want good chocolate and not a snickers. more

Chocolate is one of my favorite things, and I don't care what anyone says, a Hershey bar is just not as good as gourmet chocolate. And it's not just because they taste different. There are a lot of factors that go into this. For one, it feels so much NICER walking into a chocolate shoppe- it's got that strange mixture of Paris and Florence- than a convenience store. Secondly, there's the packaging. Mariebelle's has even better packaging than Godiva's if you can believe it- work of art! more

What is it about chocolate that is just so Oom Oom Good? MarieBelle Chocolates is one of the cities best kept secrets. You can smell the hot chocolate when you pass by the store and the chocolate in the display cases look like little treasures. They also have this Cacao Bar where you can drink the most yummiest Aztec hot chocolate. Like all good chocolate it cost's a pretty penny but man on man is the chocolate worth it. more

Mariebelles' hot chocolate is rich and creamy and you haven't lived until you tried their Aztec hot chocolate. One of the better kept secrets in New York. Just one sniff inside the store and you will be transported back to a time when all that mattered in your life was candy. Beautifully wrapped chocolate in colorful boxes line the store and the cocoa bar is a wonderful place you can relax and enjoy your hot chocolate. more

Pretty painted chocolates 8/15/2005

Marie Belle located in Soho has very pretty painted chocolate squares. The chocolate is delicious and the variety is mouth watering. At the back there is a cafe that serves amongst other things incredibly good hot chocolate. The Aztec spicy hot chocolate is superb. You can also buy the same in powder form. more

Great Soho Chocolate 7/26/2005

I think Soho is quickly eclipsing the Rockefeller Center area as the chocolate nerve center of New York City and Marie Belle is right in the thick of it. The chocolate is all first rate stuff and her hot chocolate is out of this world. She also decorates her chocolates in such a way as it is almost like they are small pieces of art as well as a great eat. more
