Editorial review from Citysearch 6/19/2013

I sent my mom here for her birthday for a complete spa package and she loved it. She said the customer service was excellent and the staff was unremarkable! She was pampered from head to toe the whole time she was there! more

I love the atmosphere at Margot's. They treat all of their clients like family, even if you are new. I've been there about 5 times and have tried a few different things. The Vitamin C facial is my favorite. But a massage is always good too! Pros: null Cons: null more

Prices are appropriately inflated 8/30/2010

Bright and sunny space out front with a ton of products. The treatment rooms are nice and professionally done. I've had a few massages there and found the therapists very good. Prices are appropriately inflated for Birmingham. Not my style for a day spa in general (I favor the Zen cavelike atmosphere) but still very classy. And I'm not turning down a good massage! more

We went with a group from work both times (8 people-ish) and they were very accommodating. They have a small separate room where we had the catered food and wine set up. The services and logistics were well orchestrated and no one waited very long. more

Everything was really top notch 7/22/2010

I've had two facials from Margots. They do a great job cleansing and my skin felt amazing after. It cleared up a lot of problem areas that my dermatologist and lots of prescriptions didn't help. Everything was really top notch... more

The day spa is very nice inside. The lighting is calming and the music is relaxing. The decor is very classy and serene. Parking was convenient in the structure across the street. more

Margot's has a quality which is commensurate with its prices. The interior is nice and my spa treatments...great. If you find a good technician, then definitely stick with her! more

Very sensitive to your individual needs 7/9/2010

This spa is first-class in every way. It is immaculate and tastefully decorated. It runs like the most efficient business on a very efficient schedule. The receptionists, the owner, the masseuses, and all of the service personnel (face, nails, etc.) are extremely polite, very sensitive to your individual needs and professional to the utmost degree. more

WONDERFUL!!! 1/5/2009

The staff at Margot's is simply amazing. The spa is very clean, well-organized and inviting. Their modern european spa environment promotes relaxation and tranquility . A friend of mine had a steam treatment there (in an enclosed Vichy Steam Capsule -- she wasn't cold, like at other spas) with her body scrub once and got hooked. She is now a regular and indulges in Margot's spa treatments monthly. have to try the Hydrotherapy Tub... Heaven!!! My favorite is their Green Tea facials, followed by hydrotherapy, then finally a deep tissue Hot Stone massage. I really enjoy receiving a facial from Vicki and/or Rachel and being worked on by both Dixie and Diane, two of the best massage therapists I've ever had! Actually, all of the staff at Margot's is amazing -- I think it's a job requirement Margot strongly enforces. Best spa I've ever been to! Give them a call, treat yourself ASAP!!! Pros: Fabulous staff, extraordinary customer care and marvelous spa treatments. My fav has to be the remarkable hydrotherapy services! Cons: It can be difficult to get an appointment last minute, so make sure you schedule your treatment(s) a few weeks in advance;) more

My Fiancee Loved It!!! 9/13/2008

I had no idea what to give my fiancee for a pre-wedding gift. A friend of mine recommended a day at the spa for her and the bridal party. I did some research and came across Margot's Euro Spa in Downtown Birmingham. I called and made all the arrangements for the entire bridal party. My fiancee was absolutely thrilled! She said the spa was, in her words, drop dead gorgeous, and that the staff was as friendly and helpful as can be. Each lady had a manicure, pedicure and a facial. Margot's was even able to cater ina delicious meal from a local restaurant. Guys, take it from me, if you really want to impress your bride to be, send the bridal party to Margot's for a day of fun and pampering. You will be amazed at the reaction! Pros: Women love this place! Clean, relaxing and just fun for ladies! more

The Most Luxurious Spa! 9/13/2008

I travel to and from New York, Eastern Europe, Toronto and sometimes Detroit on business. While away I like to relax form the stresses of travel at a nice spa. Out of all these destionations, I have not found another spa that personifies luxurious treatment as well as Margot's Euro Spa in Birmingham, MI. It's located right across fromt he Townsend Hotel where I like to stay. The staff is very professional and polite. The spa itself is very attractive and the services are are vast and extremely well done. Margot herself makes it a point to visit with me and other clients everytime I am there. Some spas claim to have the best massage therapists, but the sessions are usually cut short and the massages are harsh or uncomfortable. In my four years of going to Margot's i have never felt better and looking forward to returning soon. I highly recommend this spa for all visitors to the Detroit/Metropolitan area. You will not be disappointed! Pros: Everyting about the spa is wonderful! Like a little piece of Europe right in Bimringham. Cons: Too bad I only get to Detroit twice a year... more

Unsanitary and unclean 8/1/2008

I have been here a few times and got so so service. Aside from that, I was talking with my girlfriend and her friend and aunt worked there. They both said the spa is not kept very clean. Just a few examples, she said they flip the sheets after a client and only wash the robes after every two or three clients. Which reminded me there was stuff all over the blanket on the bed. Kind of gross. more

Worst facial ever!!! 3/14/2008

Well, I never thought I will write any bad reviews but I have to share this experience. Margot's spa was highly recomended by some of my friends who have facials at least 4 times a year. So I booked a facial a week ahead and though was told a different name on the phone I had someone else - very young and not experiened girl - I could tell, on top of that she kept leaving me in a room few times and the doors where opened at least five times while facial. I could here the conversations on the very busy hallway and couldn't relax. All the questions where ment to get me into buying a product. I just wanted a great and relaxing facial - all I received was unexperienced and pushy staff and far from european facial. more

Stay Away!!! 1/4/2008

My wife and I have visited dozens of spas, and this was by far the worst experience we have ever had. The only reason we gave them a shot was because it was the only spa in the area we could book on short notice (now we know why). The massage I received was sub-par at best. Very rough and non-relaxing. On top of that, my wife had Icy-Hot slathered all over her back without warning, making the remainder of her massage unpleasant to say the least. To top it all off, my wife said that her therapist was basically feeling her up. Pros: None Cons: Loud, rude staff, poorly skilled therapists, terrible management more

Fantastic Customer Service 8/11/2007

From the moment that I walked into the door I felt welcomed. I arrived about 10 minutes early for my massage and I was taken in right away. As I was walking down the hallway MArgot stopped her conversation to say hi and welcome my back to the spa. My therapist made sure to know exactly what I was looking for in my massage and also make sure that there was nothing medically that she needed to be aware of. When my treatment was complete, I was greated with a cold bottle of water from my therapist. I was asked numerous times by both people at the front desk if my service was satisfactory, which it was. After I paid, I was treated to a complimentary moisture and makeup application so that I did not have to walk around town looking pale form my lack of makeup. I spent at least another half an hour at the spa being pampered for free in which I felt at no time like it was a sales pitch, and all of the products that were used worked wonderfully with my sensitive skin, which they remembered that I had even though it had been many years since my last visit. Even though I now live in Arizona I will return for another treatment during the Christmas season when I am in town againa, and I would recommend this spa to ANYONE who appreciates a high level of customer service. more

The worst spa I've ever been to 8/7/2007

Sadly, this is the worst spa I have been to. I wanted to love Margots so badly, but it is just so horrible that I cannot. Margots used to be at another location in Birmingham, just fyi. Now they are across from the Townsend Hotel, which makes the spa more appealing, but nope! I cannot go there anymore. They have horrible service, their products are junk, she sells products claiming they are "Margots" and really they are cheap substances that do not work. Their facilities are cheap and not comfortable. more
