I love this place!! Not so crazy about the bento box (I'm not a fan of tempura). The sushi is always fresh tasting and prepared creatively. The Korean food is awesome and according to the staff they don't use MSG, more

sweet fresh sushi - fish melts in your mouth 1/29/2009

The restaurant is basic but pleasently decorated with a rustic / japanese touch. Their sushi is excellent and well worthed the prices of more fashionable restaurants in town. Fish is ultra fresh and melts in your mouth. Service is consistently good and rates are reasonable. Drawback is its location (way upnorth) in an uninspiring stripmall. If you are after delicious food and not a hip scene this is definitely your place. more

Good Sushi - Good Price 6/18/2008

Excellent sushi @ great price....most of the rolls I've tried are great. I've never had a bad experience. Love the salad dressing too (if you don't love ginger - don't get it!) Overall a great place and to go orders are good also. Pros: good selection/good sushi Cons: not romantic - strip shopping center/wine list very limited more

Great sushi! 2/2/2007

If you are looking for a posh or romantic place - search for something else, but if you want to get really tasty sushi - ""Osaka"" is the place. The selection is great, sushi are very good, and prices are very reasonable. Note - a sushi roll includes 8 pieces. Pros: Sushi, service Cons: The place is probably too small, and personally I did not like the tv on the wall ( but could be a pro for someone) more

Best Sushi in Texas 1/17/2007

We have traveled throughout the country searching out the best sushi and have found it at Osaka Mansun in Austin, TX. The chefs here are not about flash, but are primarily focused on the food. They turn out consistently delicious and creative dishes. We have tried Sushi in numerous countries and throughout the United States and believe this to be our favorite Sushi restaurant. Pros: Food, Service, Food, Nice Atmosphere, Friendly Chefs, Clean Bathrooms, Reasonable Pricing, Have a picture menu too more

Great sushi at a great price 12/28/2006

Yeah, you can probably find sushi that's nominally better at Mikado, Uchi, or Mushashino.... but for the price this place rules. The fish pieces on the nigiri are nice and large, always fresh and delicious. Service is usually very good too. I'll be back again and again. Pros: High-caliber sushi at a great price Cons: You'd better live north more

One of Austin's best Sushi places! 6/15/2006

Evidently sushi in Austin is a recent phenom judging by the quality and prices at some locations but not here, the new owners (whom call it the Osaka Mansun) whom I got to know personally after my 7th visit to this establishment treat every customer as a family member (I am now passed my 17th visit). Service at the table or sushi bar is excellent! My tea glass is never empty (even after this many visits). Any time you visit and sit at the sushi bar, they are more than glad to give a free sample of something you might like to try. They only do this after discussing with you your tastes and current experience. I took my Mom there for a late Mother's Day dinner (since she does not live here) whom has very little experience with Sushi at all. I explained this ahead of time and it was suggested to get the Bento Box which has Salmon and Tuna Sushi. My mother not only loved it (evidently unaware that Sushi is not supposed to smell) but even tried a piece of Mackerel. Suffice to say, my mother now has some sort of clue about what good Sushi is. She cannot wait to come back to Austin to eat. I can personally recommmend to start with the 12 piece Tazuna Sushi for US $11.95 and the Aji (this is sashimi and a little pricey due to availability but well worth it!). It was good before the new owners but the new owners have brought it up a notch. This restaurant caters to the Sushi novice as well as the Sushi expert. The service is excellent and if you do have a problem with service, let them know and the problem is resolved. The only con is that they are closed on Sunday. Let me make a point in saying I am not normally so giving in reviews and am very picky where my hard-earned money is going. Pros: Great sushi! Great Service! Great variety! Treated Cons: Closed on Sundays :( more

Excellent All-Around Sushi Experience 11/8/2005

Osaka is my standard by which I judge all other sushi spots. I have had a few that are better, but Osaka is so consistently fantastic that I keep going back for more. The staff there are incredibly friendly and the fish is always fresh. Osaka has a full selection of sushi and some unique rolls. Try the Pink Lady (my favorite). It has shrimp tempura, cucumber and spicy crab. Ummm, crunchy goodness. They are alway great with the kids when we bring them in as well. Pros: Inexpensive, Fresh Sushi, Great Staff Cons: In a Strip Mall, Small more

I go here at least once a week for lunch. The bento style lunches are wonderful. The sushi is just perfect and service just right. Pros: Great Food Cons: Crowded PM more
