Would refer over PetSmart! 8/30/2010

We first took Charlie to a two month PetSmart obedience training program; however, his obedience actually worsened after taking this class! Charlie was thinking, ?Rut roh!? Then, I heard about Man?s Best Friend on the radio advertisement and thought it might be worth my time to go to the free consultation. After talking with the trainers at Man?s Best Friend, we decided to let them have our precious baby for the two week ?doggie boot camp.? After the two weeks were up, we anxiously went back to MBF to see Charlie?s progress. Charlie?s trainer, Clayton was with Charlie and we were behind a two-way mirror, for we could see the boys in action with out distractions. The anticipation was so high and after just a few minutes of observation, my mouth was hanging down to the floor! Charlie was absolutely amazing! Clayton was able to teach our 6 month old, attention deficient, hyper active, stubborn golden retriever how to sit, stay, down, come and the all important heal command within this short 14 day period. We were so impressed! more

Mom and Dad love Man?s Best Friend 8/30/2010

Hi! My name is ?Baby Girl?. I had a rough time following instructions and running off. When I came to Man?s Best Friend they changed all of my problems. Now I have been real happy with my family. Now I?m not an embarrassment to my mom and dad. more

so much improvement in just one week 8/5/2010

When I brought Zoë here, she would dig in trash not house broken would jump on the kids, not listen to us as all, she would run when not on leash. Zoë has made so much improvement in just one week. She now does not chew on shoes or furniture. She does not jump on my two year old daughter. She pays attention when outsides instead of doing her own things. Currently we will be working with her on the same things with lots of distractions; we are very pleased with the results so far and are excited to have such a well behaved dog at home now. Zoë is a perfect dog that we can now trust at home. more

They were so good to our dog and to us! 7/27/2010

At first we thought Bailey was just a pretty face and there was no hope for him. Justin was able to prove to us (rather quickly as well!) That you can have an obedient as well as cute and playful puppy. At times it seemed it was more about training us then the puppy and Justin seemed equally adept at that as well. We are very happy with the Bailey. We left Baily crated before due to her exuberance and destructiveness, but now we can keep Baily out and enjoy her company with confidence. Justin did an excellent job with our dog. Thank you for making him such a pleasure to be around. We will try our best at home and will make our weekly lessons. Pros: training not only for our dog but for us as well more

MBF exceeded beyond my expectations! 7/23/2010

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to you, Ms. Laurie, and all the other members of your staff that I believe have demonstrated attention and effort well beyond my expectation to Bailey and myself. I brought you a female German Shepherd Dog that presented as an uncontrolled bundle of energy whose pastime was looking for things to jump on and chew up, then to accomplish her missions. This puppy was an absolute ball of misplaced energy that surpassed the Energizer bunny & virtually destroyed everything in her path. Two weeks later I retrieved a vastly improved puppy that could & did focus on very acceptable behavior. It was immediately obvious that both you and Laurie had spent considerable time a& attention on Bailey. The continual follow-up that the two of you have provided for the past four months has served to mold Bailey into a mannerly lady with a social disposition that can also be very protective in a given situation. Thank you to all of you guy’s, I’m very proud of Miss Bailey. Pros: lots of dedication and attention more

POSSIBLE DOG ABUSE and NEGLECT - BE AWARE 4/12/2010

I trained here with Greg. He was great, but not there anymore- but under the new management - DOG OWNERS BEWARE - subject dog neglect in the boarding area. My dog came home with bruises and scratches. My ""grand"" dog was brought home covered in urine and crap! They don't like it when you ""drop in"" to check up! Been going there 2 years and encountered this horrible behavior and treatment this past weekend. Makes me ill to think what they did to my pet over the last couple years. NEVER AGAIN!!! The day care - 2 young men who watch the dogs - are wonderful and good, caring individuals. But the boarding is a nightmare. I will NEVER take my dog to them again after what i witnessed this weekend with my son's dog. See their review ""clpharrell"" Cons: BAD TREATMENT more

Will Never Board My Dog Here AGAIN! 4/12/2010

First let me say the Doggie Daycare center is great. The 2 guys that work with the dogs are super friendly. I don't want my comments to take away from them.\r \r BUT.....After making good travel time back from Florida, we were excited that we were going to be able to pick our dog up from boarding early. Man's Best Friend closes at 5 on Sunday and we walked in at 4:55. After the girl at the front desk gave some attitude and pointed out that we were not supposed to pick up our dog until the next day - even though we explained we did not expect to make it back in town by 5 - she picked up the phone to call the back for our dog. After a brief exchange to the person on the other end and the girl at the front desk saying - ""well - they are here for him now even though he is not supposed to be picked up until tomorrow"" our dog was cautiously brought up to the front. He had dried poop matted into the fur on his hips and behind his legs. He smelled so bad of urine and feces we had to roll our windows down in the car to make it home. Keep in mind that we paid extra for ""play time"" in addition to the 2 times per day they supposidly take the dogs out to go to the bathroom. I have never seen our dog in this condition before. It took 2 scrub down's to get the matted poop and urine out of his fur and to get our dog back to his original condition. Because I have used them before, but he has always had a bath before we picked him up, I have never had this happen before. Picking the dogs up early really through the staff for a loop and really makes me question the previous times I have boarded our dog here. What kind of condition was he in before he was bathed? I will never use Man's Best Friend to board our dog EVER again because my trust and confidence in them has been demolished. I would STRONGLY discourage anyone from using them. Especially if you love your dog and want them to be taken care of while you are away. Pros: Day Care Center Cons: Boarding Center more

Convient, great for training 10/12/2009

I was pretty satisfied with the training that my dogs got at these facilities. I have ALWAYS trained my dogs myself, so I was pretty skeptical to let someone else do it. It just got to the point though that something had to give and I obviously didn't have the time to commit to training like I used to. They did a great job and Max is one happy pup now! \r \r However, I would say that the boarding facilities aren't really of the plush variety that I am used to. I will probably try a new place or dog sitter next time I go out of town.\r Pros: Great trainers Cons: boarding facilities not what I am used to more

The absolute worst experience 6/16/2008

All I heard on the radio was how great this place was. Well we took our dog in for boarding and found an extremely depressing site. I asked to take a tour before dropping my dog off and the request was met with rude remarks. They finally let me in to see the boarding area and to be honest some animal control shelters have better conditions. The warehouse setting was dark and cramped with stalls for dogs about the size of a shower. The had about 30 or so dogs in the steel boarding area and the sound off the walls and the concrete floors were deafening. I was reluctant to leave my dog but had to get on the road. I called the next day to check on the dog to make sure she was eating and was placed on hold for about 10 minutes while they checked. The response was she was just fine. I pick her up the following day and she came out in a comatose state. She was not excited or scarred. She was motionless. On the way back home we noticed that she had some sort of serious goup on her face, matted hair (not hers) in her mouth, and her paws had feces on them. We took her home and let her in the door and she went straight for the water. This was not a good sign as my dog will drink a ton of water on a daily basis. She roughly drank a half of gallon of water withing the first hour of being home. After that she slept for the remainder of the day with nothing able to wake her up. She was oblivious to what was going on. We were concerned about her hearing or the chemical they used in the mandatory bath. Finally after about a 20 hour nap and needing to be helped around the house she got her strength back. She is eating normal now and hearing is back. To say the least WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO MANS BEST FRIEND. If you care about your dog and want them to be healthy and happy when you get back think about sending them somewhere else. Like I said animal control shelters have better condition. Cons: CONDITIONS FOR BOARDING ARE HORRIBLE. more
