Manhattan LASIK Center - Manhattan Office

So I am guessing this coming New Year should be just great for me. Going back to work after the holidays is going to be crazy for me. As I now have new vision! No glasses or contacts. I have been waiting for this for years. I have lived in Dubai (UAE) basically all my life. As a stewardess, I have traveled all over the world. One thing always annoyed me was my glasses and contacts. Mostly my contacts. The hassle of having them on all day and night on the flight, take them off if I have to take a nap, put them back on if I need to get back to work. And if I decide to swim, forget about it! I am completely BLIND! Having a prescription of -8.25 with astigmatism is not a joke. more

I found most of the staff at times a bit pushy. While my eyes were corrected, I found the overall experience to be unpleasant. I did not feel that my concerns were addressed and when I called with questions after my surgery the staff became very short with me. I had my eyes treated by Dr. Kevin Niksarli couple months ago. I can see better than 20/20 now. It was the best decision I made. His staff is very knowledgeable and professional, as well as nice. So I made up my 2009 new years resolution to get rid of my dorky glasses and decided from all the laser centers to go to Manhattan Lasik Center. WHY? Because in this economy, they were the best deal I found after going to a million places! What a feeling I now have?20/15 yes baby!!!!!!I wish I had done it sooner!!!! Hi, my name is Nillietheme W. I was first introduced to lasik in 2005 when my supervisor had his eyes done. I started thinking to myself "If I would have such surgery than my husband wont have to spend so much money on eye exams and glasses". For years I have always had problems with glasses. They got in the way when I would hug and kiss others or they will fit at the first wearing and then they (the glasses) became to big for my face. I was very nervous about getting LASIK so it took me many years to get the confidence I needed to go through with the procedure. After researching the proceure and places to get it done I ran into a friend and the subject came up and she told me she had her procedure done at Manhattan LASIK Center and what a great experience she had , so I decided to come. I wasn't sure if I was going to share her experience, but it turned out that I absolutely loved my experience here and I am grateful for the day I ran into my friend because the atmosphere in the office, the pleasantness and professionalism of the staff was what I needed to help me not delay my procedure any longer and to feel at ease. I came to Manhattan Lasik and Dr Niksarli with very poor vision. I couldnt do anything without my glasses or contact lenses which I really could not stand anymore! From the moment I stepped into their office and was greeted so pleasantly by Sabrina I could tell I was going to be in good hands. Dr Niksarli was very thorough in the pre-surgery consultation, explaining everything that I would nee dto know and answering all my questions. After having the surgery, the next day I saw a dramatic difference already. In the past week I have gone back several times for check ups and I am so happy with what I can see now! I found out about Manhattan Lasik Center through my friend at work who had his eyes done by Dr. Niksarli several months ago. He was thrilled with his results, not to mention the care and service he received there. So, I decided to follow his advice and contact Dr. Niksarli?s office for an initial consultation to see if I qualified. On the day of my eye exam, I must have asked a thousand questions and all of the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and kind. As I also found out, Dr. Niksarli is a surgeon as well as an engineer by training, so he knows the laser technology inside out. He seems to have the most up to date equipment in his office, (at least I have ever seen). My eye prescription was obtained, and my vision with that prescription displayed to me automatically, without asking me a single question. ( By the way that?s the part I hate most with all eye exams. The choices appear to be so close, that I worry I will give the wrong answer.) My vision with that in front of my eyes was crystal clear. When I asked him if I was going to see like that after my LASIK surgery, his answer was ?most likely yes!? Well he was not kidding. Next morning after my surgery I indeed saw as well as that, if not better. When I came in for my first day check-up, I read below the 20/20 line without hesitation. In all my years of wearing eyeglasses I was never tested so thoroughly and accurately for my glasses. The day of my surgery I was given detailed instructions on how to take care of my eyes, what to do, and what not to do. I was also given Dr. Niksarli?s personal cell phone number to contact him in case of questions or concerns. That?s what I call dedication and caring. My experience at the laser center was an excellent one. My vision was corrected and it's a fabulous feeling not to need glasses or contacts again. I can see now even better than I did with my glasses or contacts. I don't have to put up with the constant irritation in my eyes from the contact lenses. In the past I was told that because of my astigmatism I should forget about Lasik surgery. My astigmatism was corrected at the same time as my nearsightedness thanks to Dr. Niksarli's skilled hands and great technology. Many of my friends asked me about where I had my surgery done and I have recommended them all Manhattan Lasik Center. I qualified for the no-interest financing plan, which made the whole thing possible for me. I was also very nervous about the whole process before I went there for my initial consultation. Everyone there was so nice and professional, I felt very much at ease and comfortable at the center. All my questions were answered and all my worries were addressed. I am so happy that I was able to build to courage to take the first step and then follow through with the surgery. the surgery itself was painless and quick. The recovery was painfree as well. By the evening time I was able to watch TV and have dinner comfortably as if nothing had happened. My Experience of having lasik at Manhattan Lasik Center was pretty fantastic. I originally thought that I would walk out of the procedure and be blind for 3 days as I healed. Not only could I almost see right away, within 7 hours I could see well enough to have dinner as normal, and even walk my dog. The next morning, I woke up and although still a little sensitive to light, I could see better than I ever could before. The procedure itself was completely pain free, though I can't say that it wasn't weird. The sensations felt during the procedure can only be described as mildly annoying, much better than I had even hoped for. After the procedure, I could still say that there was no pain, but it felt like I had hair or sand particles in my eyes, and I kept tearing up. I'd say that has to be normal since my eyeballs were just lasered. Your staff members are very professional, and friendly, and even take the time to remember your name. Dr. Niksarli spent more time with me in the exam room answering questions and evaluating me than even my own general practitioner does. Following a very thorough, detailed and hi-tech eye exam, I was told by Dr. Niksarli that I qualified for the procedure and was a good candidate.
