Impressive 3/9/2011

About a month ago my wife and I went here for dinner for the first time. We go out to eat about 4 times a week so we know what good and bad service is like. The entire experience from the minute we walked in the door to the minute we left was sensational. The food was amazing and we even had some left over Calzone to enjoy the next day. More than anything the way we were treated is what will make regulars out of us. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and we never had to ask for anything because he was always one step ahead. He helped us make smart menu selections based off of our likes and dislikes. We were so impressed by our experience that we pulled the manager aside on our way out just to let her know that she would be seeing us often! Thanks Morgan's Deals for introducing us to this fantastic place in South Austin! From management to servers to the food...everything is worth the money you spend. We won't be wasting our money any where else! more

GOOD FOOD, GREAT SERVICE! 12/4/2010

My daughter and I ate there on Thursday (Dec. 2) and ordered a medium Mary Ann's which we loved. The alfredo sauce on the whole wheat crust tasted fantastic. Not only is the food great but so is the service! Although they were fairly busy our food came out promptly. Another thing I noticed that you don't see all the time is the attention each table received. The manager went to check on every table in the restaurant. Very cool! She seemed to know a few tables personally. My daughter decided to try the tiramisu for the first time and didn't care for it. The manager noticed she wasn't eating it and offered a replacement dessert that she might like better. She went with something she knew she liked and got the cheesecake which she loved! A plus for me because I got to eat her tiramisu which was delicious. We are so happy to have this place close to home and as new comers to the area will definitely makes this place a regular dinner choice. more

Great pizza! 7/27/2010

Our family has been ordering pizza from Mangieri's every week since they opened. They ALWAYS get our order correct, are friendly and have DELICIOUS pizza. The whole wheat crust is great---doesn't have the cardboard texture other places have. The classico & margherita are household favorites in this house. Pros: quick delivery more

Best Local Pizza 6/16/2010

My husband and I go to Mangieri's for pizza once or twice a month (usually twice). We almost always dine in and are continually amazed at the customer service we receive. I look at the 'kids' behind the counter and think, ""now why can't all places be like this?"" They smile and greet you when you walk in the door; they are nice to you when you order; they offer suggestions; they bring your pizza to you promptly; and they offer to get you drink refills, silverware, or whatever else you need. And when you leave, they say, ""thank you for coming."" I'd be impressed with any restaurant that did this, but it gives me extra ""warm-fuzzies"" to know that most of these kids are still in high school. Pros: amazing customer service, outside seating, yummy pizza Cons: none! more

Love this fabulous young couple! 10/12/2009

Mangieri's is magnificent for many reasons, but I am especially eager to support this establishment because the owners are a hip young beautiful couple and the kind of entrepreneurs Austin needs! Tony and Piper are incredibly kind, dedicated to their community and strive to serve Mangieri's customers on the highest level every day of the week. The Sicilian Pizza is my favorite; along with the Bruschetta, Greek Salad and a Bellini! Pros: First class, Austin owned & operated more

Can't trick them... 10/7/2009

Been coming here since it opened and have changed my eating habits over the years to healthier selections. Mangieri's goes above and beyond to help out. They have whole wheat crust, gluten free, always fresh ingredients...nothing but the best. And if you want something different ...just ask. I have been coming since day one and have never asked for anthing where they have not gone out of their way to help.....try that in other places and good luck. The new Mangieri's in Lakeway continues their legacy... I love this place! Pros: Best all around Pizza and Service Cons: Can't get enough more

GREAT PIZZA 10/5/2009

Great Pizza 9/16/2009

It was fairly expensive, but well worth treating my family to a couple of awesome pizzas. They were made fresh to order. There was no premade crusts ""hanging"" from the walls. And there was no grease on our pizzas either. The fine toppings and fresh crust made for 2 of the best pizzas I've had in Austin. Pros: Great choice of crusts Cons: expensive more

Mangieri's Pizza is expensive and not tasty 9/8/2009

We live in Lakeway and were excited to see a new restaurant in town. We are very picky about our pizza and go to a small pizza shop in town. At Mangieri's we had a pizza, salad, and tea. The service was slow, the sauce is too sweet, and the thin crust is not thin. Sorry a playscape doesn't do it for me. For the expense, I would rather make the pizza myself and enjoy a nice bottle of wine at home. more

Not bad! 4/30/2009

Delivery pizza this good? Is it possible? Yes. It is. Was told my delivery time would be 45 minutes to an hour. My pie showed up in about 30 (whoa! That's even better than your usual chain pizza deliveries!) -- piping hot and a delight for pretty much all the senses -- opened the box lid, and what a beautiful pie! Just looking at it was a treat. Waited for it to cool a bit (hate those burned-roof-of-the-mouth experiences), and then dove in. The wheat crust is really good -- excellent thin chewy texture, which is superb in a wheat crust. The veggie toppings are fresh, delish and gorgeous -- a Greek cornacopia of olives, onions, and artichoke hearts. Just the right amount of sauce and cheese -- no feeling of being cheated there. I loved the pie cuts -- not a traditional wheel cut or double cut, but puzzle-piece cut -- makes the experience fun and less traditional than pulling off the usual messy triangle of cheese, dough and spill-over ingredients. Taste: delish. Kept going back for ""just one"" more. Ingredients: eye-catching and tasty. Drawbacks: they could go just a pinch heavier on the toppings without sacrificing weight or moisture on the crust ... also, for a veggie topped pie, it turned out to be a bit on the greasy side (glistening, pooling top), which I can't quite figure out. I understand that's going to happen with just about any baked cheese topping, but it was a little weird considering there were no traditionally greasy meat toppings like pepperoni or sausage in the mix. Also, even though the delivery included packets of parmesan and crushed red pepper (always a plus in my book -- hate it when a pizza shows up and there's no parm or pep, so, good job, delivery people!) -- the pie overall could have used just a pinch more sea salt overall. Just a little more saltiness, that's all -- then it would be absolute perfection. Rarely have I gotten a delivery pizza that stood out this much and this well. Will definitely order again ... overall great pie ... great flavor ... great service ... so happy to have such good 'za so close by. And within delivery range3!!! Pros: Flavor, ingredients, delivery time Cons: Just a tad bit greasy for a thin crust wheat pizza more
