Their midnight specials are the reason to go Mad Mex. Their $5 BIGG Margaritas (coming in various flavors like Strawberry, Peach and Mango, yum!) and their half off menu after midnight are great. Their food is nothing special (mainly Tex Mex menu full of beans, rice and burritos). Their night life, however, is booming, where you often have to wait to get a table and the drinks will leave you stumbling as you head out the door. They do card strictly, so be prepared. Oh, and if you get the munchies, make sure to try their dessert burrito (filled with ice cream, fudge, nuts and whipped cream!).
Located by Penn's law school, Mad for Mex does have a bar and tables. During the day, their atmosphere is a general restaurant and at night, its mainly a bar for college students. The lines at night can be long, so be prepared for the wait. Their prices during the day are average and their specials at night are above-average. The food is average and their drinks are average as well (though their size makes up for their lack of tastiness at times as they will give you a buzz very quickly).
