This place is amazing. I'd say beyond words, but then why review. Have a top you want to update? Peruse the pleated ribbons. Want to change out the buttons on a beloved jacket? Hit the room at the south entrance. Is that boring white lampshade mocking you?Grab some glue & some grograin. Too lazy to deal with Herald Square, they've also got a full website. I love this place. Careful, you may go over bored on your first visit. The rows of ribbons is endless. The trays of trimming, abundant. The boxes of buttons are boundless. Pros: You want it, they got it. Cons: You could lose yourself here more

You really can't find fault with this store. If you can name it, they probably have it. But you can't just browse like a tourist in there, pawing everything in sight. At some point, the staff will insist on helping you, so go in with a purpose, or, at the very least, an intention to buy! Pros: Vast inventory Cons: Overwhelming selection more

Boxes and Boxes of Things Everywhere! 3/24/2008

I was overwhelmed with the boxes of trimming covering the walls of the store. So many choices! And if the employees saw me trying to reach for something they'd ask me if I needed help, and would go get it for me. I didn't know at first that I needed a paper where they write down the quantity and price so that confused me when I first arrived. Pros: Variety, Employees Helpful Cons: Crowded more

Buttons and Ribbons and Rhinestones, Oh My! 11/2/2006

On my first trip to M&J I was completely taken aback! Wow... so much to do, so little time. M&J was nothing short of inspiring. Every trim I ever imagined. The staff was very well informed and helpful and the store is beautiful. It makes its competitors look dingy and outdated. For a serious collection of trim and quick service, dont bother going anywhere else. Pros: a selection that cant be beat Cons: no free parking for blocks more
