Problems with this service:
1) The matchmakers are disorganized and will sometimes forget that they are supposed to call you back.
2) The matchmaker I was given was so irritating and had such lousy phone manners that I would sometimes screen her calls to avoid speaking with her.
3) If you don't want to go out with someone based on the little info provided beforehand, the matchmakers will try to convince you that you are wrong and will pressure you to go.
4) I would have had better luck finding compatible people if I picked out people at random on the street.
A few examples of this wonderful service:
1) A friend of mine told her matchmaker that she did not want to date any current or former heavy drinkers. She was set up with a recovering alcoholic who drove to the date on a suspended license.
2) My matchmaker simply set me up with people based on height. I am short and they found short guys to set me up with - it did not matter whether we had anything in common. (OK, so there was ONE guy who was very decent and somewhat compatible, but I started dating someone else within a week of meeting him.) For example, a few things I told my matchmaker was that I am vegetarian and was only interested in educated professionals. The first guy I was set up with told me he did not eat vegetables, did not even know what tofu was (he asked what I ate if not meat), and spent the entire time telling me the careers he gave up on because they required too much working and/or studying.
This was an expensive service and a complete waste of time.
Cons: expensive,disorganized,horrible service,irritating employees
