Chiropractic Convert- I will be back for more! 8/27/2010

I have never written an online review for any business before visiting Lula Health Center. In this case my experience with Dr. Paez was so fantastic that I feel compelled to share this discovery with as many people as possible. If you are suffering and/or simply choose to avoid the chiropractor because the whole process may seem foreign or a little scary... I am confident in saying that this will be a positive experience for you. You might even laugh out loud! more

AWESOME CHIROPRACTOR 6/14/2010

Dr. Paez is a truly wonderful chiropractic physician. I have had the pleasure of sending many patients her way and they always are very satisfied with her work. She has helped my patients with chronic headaches, back pain, whiplash injuries, TMJ and many other concerns. Dr. Paez gives great attention to detail and spends a lot of time with her patients. She is unique in how she teaches patients about good form, posture, exercises and stretches in her spacious office. I can highly recommend her services. Dr. Erika Siegel Naturopathic Physician Nature Cures Clinic Pros: thorough, great listener, wonderful hands more

Best Health Decision 5/31/2010

I have been experiencing increasing lower back pain over the past two years and was unable to get relief from the myriad of Dr's and physical therapists I was going to. I wanted to avoid anything drastic like painkillers or surgery, and I wanted to find what the origin of the issue was so I could begin to treat the cause, not just the symptoms. \r \r I had never visited a chiropractic before, but in frustration and (near) desperation, I tried Dr. Paez based on a friend's referral. I'm really, really glad I did. While nothing is going to magically reverse what has taken a few years to develop, I finally feel like I'm getting somewhere in solving this problem. Dr. Paez's approach is holistic and incorporates examining the entire body and how the system works as a whole. She is practical, rational and committed to treating the source of the problem as well as the symptoms. I am particularly impressed by her commitment to my care beyond our visits - she listens to my litany of questions and concerns and comes prepared to our appointments with followup and complete answers that she has researched. I love that she manages my treatment and takes my health as seriously as I do. \r \r Visiting Dr. Paez is by far the best decision I have made in my health care and treatment. As an added bonus, she recently added the services of an amazing licensed massage therapist, Laura Hill, to her health center. I took advantage of Laura's introductory offer on massages and was in heaven. Laura had reviewed Dr. Paez's notes on my health issues and came prepared to address those issues in the massage. I appreciated this cross-pollination of services as well as all the different and fantastic elements she brought to her treatment - such as massaging my ear lobes, gently pulling my hair, stretching my limbs while she massaged them, and wrapping warm towels around my hands and feet post massage. Wonderful! Pros: Complete and compassionate care, varied treatment options more

Dr. Paez is the best of the best! 5/3/2010

This was by far the BEST experience I have ever had. She was extremely caring and professional. I didn't feel like I was being rushed in and rushed out like I have in the past. Also, her technique is very effective and unlike anything I have ever experienced. She in not average by any means!\r I had a light adjustment and also received hydrotherapy, cranialsacral, graston, and ultra sound all in one visit! She really makes the time for you which is so nice because most chiropractor's want to cycle the masses through. There was no pressure to reschedule. She genuinely cared about what was best for me. You must go! more

Great Care 4/16/2010

I visited Lula Health Center for several visits during 2009 to address knee and leg pain occuring while training for my first marathon. Having never visited a chiropractor before, I was a bit shy and nervous about what to expect. Dr. Paez put me at complete ease with her compassionate and professional, yet easygoing, approach. She also provided comfortable cotton shorts and tops to wear (read: no scratchy gowns!)\r \r During our appointments she focused not only on my main areas of concern with a variety of therapies (adjustments, Graston, exercises, stretches), but also generously addressed other problem spots and issues (such as shoulder/back tension). With Dr. Paez's help, I succesfully completed the marathon, and thanks to her, I am also now a believer in the healing nature of chiropractic treatment. Pros: Multiple treatments available, insurance plans accepted Cons: Street parking only more

Fantastic Chiropractic Care 4/14/2010

Dr. Paez is gentle, highly skilled, and simply a great person to be around. She has many techniques to address specific issues and has a good sense of how to approach the body holistically. She helped me immensely with my shoulder, which has been bothering me for many years now, but also with little issues that came up over time: a stiff neck, headaches, and hips that just don't like to sit the way they're supposed to. She even has a mini-yoga studio in her office to help you learn how to stretch and strengthen in a very soothing way. And if you're a real yogi (unlike me), she'll have a wealth of knowledge to help you use your yoga to heal your body. Check her out! Pros: gentle touch, skilled practitioner, convenient location more

A Great Experience! 2/28/2010

I have struggled with back pain since an injury as a teenager. I have seen numerous chiropractors and had come to accept that back pain was a part of my everyday life. When I began seeing Dr. Paez, I was waking throughout the night due to the pain (approx. 8-10 times), was limited in my activity level, and my mood had been impacted as a result of living a life with chronic pain. With each treatment, I noticed a significant change in my pain level and within several months I was virtually free of pain. I had not realized what a toll my back injury had taken on my life until the injury had been properly managed by Dr. Paez. I am sleeping through the night, much more active than I have ever been, and feel more like myself than I have in years. This is the first time I have ever written an online review... But my experience with Dr. Paez has been so rewarding I feel I owe it to the Portland community to share my story and encourage others to seek treatment from Dr. Paez. I highly recommend Dr. Paez. She is patient, competent, friendly, compassionate, and incredibly skilled. I'm quite confident you'll enjoy the experience and benefit from her treatments. Pros: Great care, compassionate, holistic (adjustments and yoga) Cons: None! more

Lula Health Center for Healing and Whole Body Wellness! 1/21/2010

Seroma formation is a postoperative complication that I personally experienced after a lumpectomy of the right breast due to breast cancer. It manifested itself as an extremely painful lump (the size of a golf ball) under my right armpit. My oncologist felt that the fluid collection would be ideally managed by repeated needle aspiration. After the invasiveness of breast surgery, I consulted Dr. Louise Paez to determine a less menacing treatment.\r \r Dr. Paez recommended craniosacral therapy and physiotherapy treatment in the area of the seroma. During the gentle craniosacral treatment, I immediately felt a release of fluid build-up. Within 6 hours, the seroma reduced in size significantly. Within 14 hours it was completely gone. In the weeks ahead, Dr. Paez followed up this initial treatment with a gentle massage under the armpit and surrounding the breast to break up the scar tissue resulting from breast cancer surgery.\r \r My confidence and admiration for Dr. Paez goes far beyond my initial encounters with her post surgery. She was instrumental in helping me overcome the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation through regularly scheduled chiropractic treatments coupled with personal yoga exercises to promote whole body healing and relieve the stress.\r \r If you are looking for alternative care with excellence, contact Dr. Paez today. Like me, you’ll be glad you did! \r \r Marie R.\r Pros: Chiropractic treatment coupled with personal yoga exercises more

One Great Chiropractor Louise Is! 1/18/2010

Louise may be the best in the industry that Portland has to offer. She listened to my needs and carefully analyzed my hand issues. As a professional typer by trade, It type over 250,000 words per week. As such, I suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome. Louise has a deep understanding of the human body. In addition to adjusting my hands, she adjusted shoulders knowing that it would trickle down to my hands. I feel great and am ready to type! Pros: Great Listener and Very Professional more
