Lucky Platter is an ecclectic neighborhood diner with food that's a step above and beyond a traditional diner menu. The decor is fun and frivolous, highlighted by tin-foil balls that cover the ceiling and tables that look that scrapbook covers. Bright and lively decor is completed by equally bright and lively dishes. The Tandori chicken salad is delicious, as is the carbbean pumpkin soup, Mexian polenta and vegetarian tangine. Also offers a variety of fish dishes, pizzas, and seasonal specials. The tomato soup, however, is ordinary and worth a pass. Cornbread accompanies meals at no cost, but you must request it. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are offered, but breakfast tends to be the busiest time. Great prices for near-gourmet-level cuisine, in a causal setting.
