Lucia's Restaurant and Wine Bar

Lucia's keeps expanding on their little block. From the restaurant to the wine bar, now a cozy wonderful cafe. I enjoy them all. Most recently stumbled onto the cafe on a Sunday afternoon. What a cozy spot for wonderfully healthy soup, polenta and other warm foods. Sit back, play cards, read the paper, sit at the community table and meet new friends. The servers were very helpful and excited about their menu and wine choices. We indulged ourselves all afternoon - grazing on the food, enjoying tea and wine and playing cribbage. The table to our right looked like students studying and reading the Sunday paper. Lucia really has a corner on their corner in uptown. One of the first new cuisine neighborbood bistros, Lucia's has gained a national reputation with a weekly changing menu of regional organic fare, a wine bar, and highly sought after brunches. Set on the southside of the bustling Uptown's main drag, being just around the corner has its advantages for slightly more subdued dining than the slashy Chino Latino, alt-chic Cafe Barbette, formal Campiello, or aggressive Williams' Pub or Figlio crowds. This is mostly a quiet couples restaurant where you can linger with your sweetie over wine and consistently high quality selections at the discretion of the Chef Lucia Watson. Outdoor seating in on the sidewalk beginning in the spring as long as weather permits. more
