Louise's Cakes N Things

My daughter got married July 18, 2010 and Louis's did the wedding cake and the grooms cake. When the cakes were delivered it was terrible, the wedding cake had part of the icing separating the grooms cake was not at all what I ordered, so I called Louise immediately because the delivery driver said you will have to call Louise. It took me over three weeks of going by the store calling and emailing before she finally responded and her response was as follows, and I hope you are sitting down. We can't guarantee the delivery of our cakes as if it is too hot the cakes may melt and if it is too cold they may have problems. When I told her what all was wrong with the cakes she said well you ate it didn't you. What was I supposed to do keep the cakes for 3 weeks before she finally called back. I will NEVER use Louise's Cakes N Things again. My other daughter is getting married Nov 12, 2011 and I will not under any circumstances use Louise's.\r \r I hope everyone reads all the negative comments more

Louise's is one of the best bakeries/supply stores that I have ever used. They did my wedding cakes and they were awesome! They have delicious candies and other sweets and surprisingly good prices. The new location is way bigger than the previous shop, so they have far more supplies. The cakes are both beautiful and delicious. I'd also like to add that their delivery boy is really great! more

I ordered a large cake from Louise's last week and was very pleased to hear my guests say how much they enjoyed it. There were several comments made about the moistness of the cake. I also purchased a cinnamon sugar coffee cake and and some pastries (chocolate) that were delicious. The employees were extremely patient and went the extra mile to see that my order was placed just as I requested. more

I had placed a cake order and the store has just reopened. When I picked up that cake I was so surprised the cake was one of the most amazing cakes that I have ever had. These people out did themselves. I have had good and not so good cakes everybody has their day but I know that they will always be fair with me and give me just a little more than I pay for. more

I had placed an order for a cake for my grandson's birthday. I explained just what I wanted and when I got to their new shop to pick it up I just could not believe what I was seeing. This cake was wonderful. It was more than I expected. These people went out of their way to make this cake great. When we cut the cake at the party it was even better. The cake was moist and tasted great. I would recommend this place to anyone. more

I used to love this bakery, but the last two cakes I bought from them were very dry. When I complained, you would have thought I committed a crime. more

This bakery is undoublty the worst bakery of all that I have seen. I ordered my little boys first birthday cake from them, I pocked it up today to find it decorated as if I had done it. It is with out a doubt plain jane. We discussed on the phone the colors I wanted and at time of pick up it was entirelu white with red writing. The images were to be 3D but instead look as if a three yr old thru a glob of icing on it. In fact I give 0 stars to this establishment. more

Before our wedding we had a sample and it was delicious! It looked beautiful and tasted fresh, but on the actual day the cake delivered looked nothing like the picture I supplied and it tasted as if it had been made days in advanced! It was still pretty, but not what we wanted and the quality was awful! I was embarrassed to have it served to our guests! more

Louise' has hands-down got to be one of the worst businesses in the area. Louise herself is mean and ornery, and her staff is just as bad. They shout at each other across the store, things like "I have to go teetee!" Right in front of customers! All in all, ordering a cake, ordering sugar flowers, dealing with this place in any capacity is just an unpleasant experience. If your order is wrong, and it often is, then they do not take responsibility for it. Furthermore, they clearly cannot adapt to the trends in wedding cakes. All of their cakes look like they were made in 1993. Unless you want a wedding cake that is distinctly redneck, stay away from this place and go to real bakery that is staffed with professionals! more

Upon our first meeting, I was very impressed with Louise and her company. On the wedding day, I was horrified at what was delivered as the groom's cake. The shape which we had discussed thoroughly with a picture to go by, and the colors of the fondant icing which were discussed as well were disasterous. Louise had assured me that both were not a problem, yet they both turned out to be a nightmare! She then tried to back out of responsibility and say that navy and burnt orange fondant were impossible. That is not true, there is a recipe on the internet for both. I have checked with other bakeries as well. I did not ask nor expect out of the ordinary results. As of today, no retribution has been given to me and my family. Even my guests cringed when they saw the cake. I thought it looked like a cake for a baby shower or a two year old birthday party. I was appalled!! more

I was very disappointed with my wedding cake. Something unexpected came up and I had to move my wedding 100 miles out of town 3 weeks prior to the date. Ms. Louise was supposed to do 2 cakes and cater my wedding for me. I had to cancel the catering and the groom's cake with her because it would have been way to expensive for her to still do it. I still wanted her to make the wedding cake for me and had already paid her a $250.00 deposit. I called her to talk to her about it and she told me she was too busy to deal with it right now. I waited a few days and emailed her and she never responded. So I finally called her again and she said she would still make the cake. When I picked up my wedding cake it looked nothing like what the picture looked like that I picked the cake out from. She used ribbon on the cake that you would use to tie in your hair. You could see through the frosting and it was uneven. The detailed beading at the base of each tier was uneven. It looked like the cake was more

My wedding was on 8/16/08 and my cake and candy bar chocolates were done by Louise's Cakes and Things and it was not only beautiful but delicious. The candy was such a hit that I wish I could get more, box it and send it out to each of our guests. One of my guest commented that he thought it was a beautifully wrapped present. Ms. Louise and her staff were so kind and patient with me and she was generally a joy to work with even with the loss of her sister just days before my wedding. I thank God for her business and for her. I am on my honeymoon and my new husband and I are still enjoying the candy from the wedding. It was the best money spent on the wedding. more

Louises Cakes N Things has all sorts of cake decorations that you would ever need or want. They have tons of different cake pans in any shape you are looking for. They also make cakes here and it smells delightful when you walk into the store. They make great cakes for kids birthday parties. more
