It's Good During The Day; But, Lacks Something At Night!!! 9/9/2010

I've been going to Loree's Little Shack, in Rocklin, for a very long time. And I've always liked going there... But it has changed over the years. The bar and restaurant service is always good; as is the quality of food service during the day hours. As well, the evening bartenders are friendly and professional. However, the quality and care of karaoke just isn't the same anymore. There always seems to be somebody different running the system. And the girls who appear to have control of everything seem to sing more than the customers. I realize that is probably an over statement; but, it does feel that way sometimes. Also, the KJ usually has the system turned up way too load, very annoying! Keep in mind, the new young guy is trying to make a positive difference. I will continue to go to Loree's for breakfast and dinner; but, it might not be my first choice for karaoke anymore. Oh yeah, the dinner taco deal is very good as is the omelets in the morning. more

I was looking for karaoke and I found it! (Accidently wrote this for Greenback but I was at the Railroad Track!) 3/4/2008

The place is unique to the Nth. It's got character everywhere. It's not quite a dive bar but if it were it's one of the best I've been to. I went on Sunday night and it was slow. I believe the bartender's name was Rachel and she couldn't have been more awesome. Since it was slow she had time to go the extra mile to make sure our night was fun. The KJ was sick that night so one of their regulars (a member of Toxic Reign, a local band) had to coax her to get it started as there were only 3 for sure singers and she'd normally start with 5. We ended up with a great mix of 6-8 singers. We were there right before 9PM and didn't leave until after 1AM. The night is always better when you bring a desire to really have fun and don't expect the venue to do everything for you. Big thanks to Rachel the bartender, the KJ (can't remember her name), and Mathew of Toxic Reign whose voice blew me away. I made sure to tip them all. Mathew really helped make the night with his enthusiasm and some colorful alternate lyrics. (Wish we were able to find his band on MySpace.) He even asked me to sing I Want To Be Sedated by The Ramones with him. I was terribly honored as I'm no singer although occasionally I can carry a tune! You guys made me a happy girl....THANKS love Lil Pros: There was plenty to do and I was highly amused by the choice of barware and coasters. Cons: Parking was sketchy, wasn't sure if it was a private lot or if it was safe. more
