I go to little tree at least 3 times per week. It's always really great food and I LOVE the new rolls they just added to the menu. \r \r Also, the bartender Chris is always grea...

I usually like Little Tree and I have met friends and family there for sushi many times. However, I had a terrible experience yesterday after not having been there for a couple o...

Good sushi in a nice atmosphere 2/13/2007

The sushi here is good, although not as good as I'd heard. It's tasty but has too much rice in it. I did like the spicy sauce a lot too. Pros: Spicy sauce, sake/wine menu Cons: Sort of expensive, too much rice in the rolls more

great food 11/26/2006

no matter what i have tried here it has been yummy! i really like to order the katana roll from next door just ask the waitress they will get you what ever you want. Pros: great food, location, and service Cons: crowded and not good for a big group more

Consistent Amazing 8/26/2006

I dont understand these bad reviews.. I have eaten at Little Tree for years, and it has remained my favorite restaurant. The service for me has never been below par, and is almost always above average- and never slow, even with a crowd.\r \r The Thai food is different from your average dishes, but good nonetheless. The Tom Yum soup they serve is one of my favorites, even though it is different.\r \r The Tosilog/Topsilog dish is my favorite, I recommend it to anyone who likes any sort of asian food. ^_^\r \r The sushi I've had there has always been above average...\r \r They have a very consistent, satisfied customer in me... Pros: service, food, price Cons: busy on weekends, parking more

Good date place ... but you can do better :) 5/8/2006

Sushi was fine - not the best I have had here, but not bad - a few interesting items. But service was ok the first time, atrocious the second. The noodle dishes are blase and the place is loud. Also a bit on the expensive side though not horrible. My favorite bit was when they messed up our sushi order, then ""went to check"" what we had written. Funny how when I have done it at other places they always bring it back to show me .. they didn't do that here. Just assured us we had made the mistake ... should have asked to see it. Pros: decor, variety Cons: parking, price, noise more

The overall ambiance was great but service was average. The sushi was good, not the best but we are in Detroit. I would definatly go back. Pros: inexpensive, good food Cons: crowded, parking more

Stinks, You can't Smell Fish When it's Fresh! 2/23/2006

Never eat Sushi at a place that smells like fish! This is the worst sushi in metro Detroit. You are better off getting Sushi in a grocery store. It is only popular with people who like trendy area's. Go to Shilla's, Nipon Kai, Akasaka for real sushi. This place really is that bad,all of my friends who enjoy sushi agree this is not the place to go for a good let alone a great sushi meal. 5 Star locatio, 1 Star food. On AOL's guide 1/2 the posters complained of food poisoning. Pros: location Cons: worst sushi ever more

lived in Japan 11/14/2005

The average 'Joesan' Japanese judges good sushi by the size and freshness of the fish served. It's got to be a big piece and needless to say, if it's big it better be really fresh. And sushi just means vinegar flavored rice, by the way. It doesn't even have to have fish at all let alone raw fish. No rice and it's either sashimi or something else .... more

Fabulous Sushi 7/9/2005

I can't believe these negative reviews!! I've been going to Little Tree since I started eating sushi a few years ago. The atmosphere is great, high ceilings and Japanese art on the walls. The staff is professional, and gets the job done (don't expect the fakey smiles and ""flare"" of a Friday's). The food is great, and almost as good as the sushi I've eaten in Boston and San Diego. The fish is very fresh, and they have some exotic catches like Hawaiian butter fish (the best piece of sushi I've ever eaten). I also highly recommend the yaki udon. I don't recommend most of the Thai (there are better choices for that), but as far as Sushi and the Japanese portion of the menu, this place is fantastic. I will continue to go to Little Tree whenever I'm in the area. Pros: Great Sushi, Great Atmosphere, Open late Cons: Average Thai, Parking, Long wait on weekends more

Horrible Phone Service 5/22/2005

I tried to make a reservation for my boss for a business lunch and the person who answered the phone was incredibly RUDE! I explained to her that I would like to make reservations, and she responded that the restaurant was walk in only and hung up the phone before she finished the sentence, not to mention I did not get to ask any other questions about the restaurant. Before I called, I thought that I would consider going to Little Tree myself but not after that! Thanks to her I will never step foot in Little Tree. I guess the service reviews below were correct! more

Great selection of Asian cuisine. 2/14/2005

You feel welcomed and not intimidated when you enter the doors of this Nu - Asian restaurant. The decor is simple with beige, wood panelled walls with dim lighting. Their selections on the menu varies from authentic Thai, Japanese and Filipino recipies. The servers are very helpful with any questions from newcomers. I recommend their sushi which is nicely prepared and quite fresh. The entrees are exceptional. I also recommend the Leche Flan dessert surrounded by raspberry syrup and exotic fruits. This is probably one of the best Asian dining experience I have had in the Detroit area. Pros: Spacious, great selection, Reasonably prized more

I am addicted 1/9/2003

I have tried Sushi before and was unimpressed. However, after dinning at the Little Tree I am now a shushi addict. I would recomend to any one who is uneasy about trying this cuisine. Although, there is often a bit of a wait for seating. The friendly bar staff helps to pass the time. Pros: friendly, trendy Cons: poor parking, crowded more

Back For More! 10/4/2002

Little Tree is a great escape from all the crazy bars in Royal Oak. It has a great casual feel, exceptional service and who could not love sushi chef Eddie and his tasty treats. There are a few other sushi bars in the area but Little Tree is the one that keeps me coming back for more! Pros: Food, Service Cons: No Delivery more

Sushi Lover 8/11/2002

Sushi is one of my favorite meals and happens to be a favorite of most of my friends. I love going to the Little Tree with friends and family every chance I get. I especially like their eel rolls and their special Godzila roll. The service is always the best and the food is always well prepared and fresh. I manage to eat way more than I should every time I'm there. The crowd is fun and lively and as for Sushi Chef Eddie....he's the best! more

TAKE YOUR DATE THERE! 8/9/2002

This little gem is the perfect place to take that special someone. Sample sushi, maybe have a little sake or a sakitini (sake martinis) take some risks and have some fun. The Little Tree is an adventure and the food is phenomenal. Also, just in case sushi isn't for her, you can always order some Thai off the menu (better safe than sorry). Trust me, it's a winner. more

I lost my Virginity to Little Tree 8/5/2002

Sushi, for quite some time, has been a mystery to me. It seems as though everyone is eating it and yet I was always afraid to try it. Recently, however, I was de-virginized to the whole sushi scene when I finally took the plunge and went to Little Tree. I obviously have nothing to compare my experience to, when it comes to sushi, but I LOVE THIS PLACE! Everything I ate, I loved. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere unmatchable (a little crowded). The entire experience was wonderful. I would highly reccommend this restaurant to anyone, especially those who are ""virgins"" to the whole sushi thing. The staff was more than helpful in explaining the differences in the dishes and what ones would suit my taste. I was extremely pleased with their vegetarian selections, especially. A very great restaurant all across the boards! more
