Tasty food, friendly atmosphere 1/26/2010

Even after reading the reviews of unfriendly staff, we decided to get lunch here anyways. The waitress was very nice and courteous. Bread and water came out quick, but the main entree took awhile. Overall a very good experience. Pros: Good food, hot soup, friendly waitress Cons: A little slow to get the entree more

Below Average and Very Overpriced Food 5/11/2008

The food was very overpriced, the portions small, and the quality was below average. After we ordered our food it took an eternity to arrive. And (inside) the seats are the cheapest, ricketiest and most uncomfortable wooden chairs that exist. None of this is a problem so long as the food is worth it. But the overpriced food was very bland and greasy. I don?t understand how they can justify the menu prices and why people pay them. Pros: Makes other restaurants look good. Cons: Where do I start: food, service, uncomfortable seats and Outrageous Prices. more

Guaranteed to have fun (as long as the owner stays home) 1/14/2008

I've been here both when it's overflowing with drunk college kids and on a few quiet weekday evenings, and no matter when I go, the staff is extremely friendly. The food is good, although I've only eaten the bar food - the duck nuggets were yummy, and I also had a blue cheese soup once that I liked. I generally shy away from the bar scene on the weekends, but nevertheless I've always had fun when someone drags me here. The bouncers are professional, efficient, and kind, the bartenders are attentive and often charming even when swamped (both the men and women.) One complaint I have is that most every time I've seen him there, the owner is cold at best, often pretty jerky. Once, in the afternoon, I saw him chatting with a patron at the bar - he seemed to be nice. I don't know if he should just stay away when it's busy (because maybe that stresses him out) or if he gets grumpy later in the night, but I've been on the verge of boycotting this bar more than once because he's been rude to me and my friends without (apparent) cause as closing time approaches. Alas, Davis offers few alternatives, so I haven't taken such drastic measures yet, and I hope not to. Like I said, I always have fun here. At least on Fridays, the DJ plays great tunes, and the crowd on the dance floor is diverse and happy.\r \r Oh yeah, just in case anyone's listening - Dear Little Prague, You need to have more than one toilet for all of the women at the bar - maybe send us over to the restaurant? It's ridiculous. Love, friendly neighborhood customer\r \r more

Horrible, Insane Employees! 1/14/2007

Horrible. That best describes Little Prauge. The place seems appealing from the outside until you walk in. Then it's all downhill. The service is absolutely horrible. The bartenders are extremely rude and have no social skills- even calling my friend a ""C"" word! I have a feeling the staff likes drama and will jump on the chance to create it. Never again will I got there- definately NOT recommended Cons: EMPLOYEES more

Worst staff ever!!! 7/31/2006

Little prauge? more like little Na zi Germany. The customer is never right at this place. I had a lot of guest from out of town come in and we drank there for about 20 minutes before people started to get cut off just because the bar staff doesn't know how to make common drinks. Several of the women I was with were insulted by the bar staff with no provocation. The staff was so rude and impolite. One of the bartenders was telling customers what they can and cannot drink. The owner is notorious for being rude to women and customers. There are much better places to eat and have a good time in Davis. Avoid this place like the plauge. The service is really slow if at all. I think Hitler would of been a better bartender. more

Astonishingly rude 3/4/2006

I made the grievous error of wearing shorts to L.P. And they kicked me out for it. Now, a dress code is fine. I'm all for a little upscale dining in downtown Davis. And had I been told anything remotely along the lines of 'Excuse me, we do have a dress code', etc., etc., then who could complain? Instead, after we ordered drinks and dinner, *on my way back from the bathroom* - offending shorts in view - I was told, and I quote: ""You will not be served in this restaurant looking as you do"". What the -? How about a modicum of courtesy? What happened to Bohemian good times? Who knows? So we gathered up our stuff and went - as the chef/maitre'd/autocrat glared at us from the kitchen, *shaking his finger at us* on the way out. Whoooeee - good times at Little Prague! Pros: Exit door nearby Cons: Staff, Staff, Staff more

Excellent desserts! 2/8/2005

With a violinist, roaring fires, and flickering candles, Little Prague's atmosphere is wonderfully pleasing and relaxing. It's perfect for a romantic dinner, or to hang out with friends for desserts and hot chocolates. The best thing about Little Prague: the desserts. There's a wide variety of choices, and each dessert is an exquisite work of art. I always leave Little Prague with an extra dessert to eat the next day. Pros: desserts, atmosphere, friendly staff Cons: crowded seating more

Highly Recommend 4/28/2004

Nice comfortable dining with a great outdoor patio and a fantastic bakery. I recommend coming here for: breakfast in the spring (try the delicious coffee with a slice of apricot coffeecake), l unch in the summer (the cold soups are surprisingly fantastic), fireside dinner in the fall (warm, filling hearty food) and all year round for the desserts (try the French Pear cake)! They're developing a very nice evening bar scene with hand-picked live music. And definitely plan to attend they're yearly Oktoberfest for some open-hearted fun and great beers, food, music and prizes! Pros: Desserts are great!, Fireside patio dining more

A Warm Little Restaurant 4/1/2004

Boy this place is warm! It's food is hot and fulfilling, great on cold winter days. But it's tough to eat there in late spring. Try the outdoor patios when the sun goes down on warm days. The desert selection is amazing and all are delicious. The soups are always good and surprizing. The prices are kind of high. They have live music sometimes. Pros: good food more
