Little Munchkinland

I do not attend this daycare, however I had to spend 2 full days as a contractor at all three daycares. All of the negative comments that have been posted, well, I didn’t see any of those actions at all. Yes, there were some of the extra ornery kids where I would hear staff constantly having to get their attention, but I didn’t hear any kind of yelling at all at any of the daycares. I heard a lot of singing. One voice sticks out more than others, because I actually heard her voice at two daycares. Confused, I asked if she was at the previous daycare the day before, and she was. The kids love her, so kudos! At first the place seems chaotic, but it’s just the kids playing and making noise. I don’t know where people would say that the centers are unorganized. There are age appropriate stations filled with activities, and there are 1-2 employees at each station. Yes, they are college kids, but what does that have to do with anything? Did you know that daycare employees are mandated to take CPR and other classes to educate them in child care? And yes, I was hired by the owner who I could tell was a “firm” person. She needs to be serious about the wellbeing of your children. She needs to make sure your child is safe, and the building is safe. She is “military” about the safety of YOUR child. If your child is having a bad time there, then yes, I agree you should take them somewhere else. I just wanted people to know that I did not see the negative things that were commented in this listing. more

My son has gone to Little Munchkinland for 6 years. We started the summer before he started kindergarten and he is now in 5th grade. We have never had any problems above and beyond what a person should expect from a commercial daycare. more

MY KIDS WENT THERE AND I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS DAYCARE TO ANYONE THE MANAGMENT IS A JOKE THEY HAVE GOOD SCH FOR THE KIDS BUT MOST STAFF ARE JUST COLLEGE KIDS THERE TO GET PAID NOT TO CARE FOR YOUR KIDS THEY ARE ON THERE PHONS ALL THE TIME MY CHILDREN NEVER LIKED IT THERE I HAD MANY THINGS HAPPEN THERE THAT I HAD TO TAKE MY KIDS TO TH ER AND NOBODY EVER KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT MY KIDS HOW LONGED THEY NAPED WHERE THERE BLANKETS WERE, OR WHY THEY HAD A BITE MARK OR A SCRATCH ON THERE FACE OR BACK NOBODY KNEW , ACUALLY LOST A COAT THERE AND MANAGER CALLED BE A B*** FOR BEING UPSET THAT THEY LOST IT I HAVE BEEN OUT OF THIS DAYCARE FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS AND LIFE IS SO LESS STRESSFUL WHEN I DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MY KIDS BEING YELLED AT OR SHOVED IN A CRIB BECAUSE STAFF DOSENT WANT TO DEAL WITH THEM.I WISH I WOULD HAVE SEEN THESE REVIEWS A YEAR AGO. I plan on starting my stepdaughter here soon so I will have to write a review after she's been there a while. Just wanted to comment that the first review is by Cheryl Dubas, the owner. I just had to chuckle when I read that the management was great but she only gave herself 3 stars. I used to work at LML. Cheryl is not very good with adults or her staff, but on the other hand she is good with children. The place is so clean because there is a daily chore list and every employee has a task assigned to them to help keep the place looking nice. Lunch is served via the food program which is why the portions are so small, they go off what the state says they can give. The children only receive seconds of anything if they eat everything off their first plate. Snack is just that a snack its not supposed to be a full course meal, its just to tide them over til they get home. There are schedualed daily activities for all of the children and they are set up in rotations of half hour incriments. They have song time as an intire group in the morning to start the day and then before the 2 year olds eat there is another big group song time between all the 2 year old groups. The 2 year old are split up into groups of 6 keeping the state ratio 6/1. Bathroom breaks are taken every hour to an hour and a half, also before lunch and after nap. The staff help to start potty training your child at 18 months when they are moved into the 2 year old group. Staff interaction is required and as for the texting thing when I worked there you would get written up for even having your phone out. There are field trips for school agers when there is no school and additional age appropriate activities for them to participate in. The staff are each in charge of creating a daily art project for the children to take part in and have hands on time with your child while helping them create it. Sheets for the cots are washed on a daily basis and blankets once a week. Toys are soaked in bleach water every saturday and the entire place deep cleaned at that time also. I say as long as you can put up with the errogance and immaturity of the owner, this is a great place to take your children. Pros: great invironment for children Cons: owner is not very mature more

I have been taking my son there for about 6 months now, and he loves it there!!! When I pick him up he is excited to tell me about his day!!! I would not take him anywhere else!! Pros: Price, Management, Child Satisfaction!!! more

Interesting comments. When I was pregnant with my first son, we toured this daycare along with several others. Although we were only there once, my husband and I did not get good vibes from the staff. They were not friendly at all and seemed like they could care less if they got our business. It seemed like we were an inconvenience to them. After reading some of these reviews, I think that my gut feeling was correct. It seems like other people have not had good experiences either. more

I am a bit surprised to read some of the reviews on this site. It saddens me to think your child may miss the opportunity to experience such a wonderful place because of these, in my opinion, very inaccurate reviews. My 4 year old child has attended LML for about two years now, and he loves it! The owner as well as the staff greet us in the morning with warm smiles and are very caring. It makes it so much easier for me to drop him off. They have planned activities every single day, all day to enhance each childs learning and development. When I pick my son up, he is always excited to tell me all about his day. The staff seem to really enjoy working with all of the kids from what I've seen. I can't imagine going to any other daycare! more

I feel that these last 4 comments are written by the same person. I have been at this daycare for 3 years now with 2 children in it. I have not experience any of what they are saying. I don't feel someone has the right to go on the internet and smash a good daycare. So what if she wrote her own review, it only goes to show she has pride in her daycare. Can't find that in many other places. more

After about three months which the first three months I thought I had found the prefect day care but then it all started. I started to wonder if I was taking my child to a loving daycare or a jail. The staff all seem angry and not happy at there job. I could almost cut the tension with a knife between the staff. The owner is like water she can switch from hot to cold in an instant. No one seems happy to be there not even the owner. Some days were better then others, but my child started to refuse to go to daycare. This bothered me, I started to to pay more attention and pick up my child at different times, I soon gave my two week notice after I had over heard the staff talking about how mean the owner was. The first review of this daycare was conveniently written by cdubas, isn't that the owner? When I have came in to pick up my child around snack time. While there I noticed that children were treated rudely and children were turned away when they asked for seconds. The snack portions seemed very small and not very healthy for growing children. I began concerned that this was not the right place for my child. I mentioned it to my wife and she said that she would see how it went when she dropped off. That day my wife called me and said that we were going to give our two week notice. This daycare is not very organized. They do not have rooms for all the children which makes it very crazy. The employees are mean to the children. This daycare is more like a babysitter than a place where children can learn and grow. Would not recommend unless you like rude individuals and someone just to watch your children rather than teach them.This is daycare is under staffed. The employees are more worried about texting on cell phones then taking care of the children. Two year old group was unsupervisored when I came in to pick up my son. Then it took them about 2 minutes to find out who he was, what group he was in, and what part of the daycare he was at. Would not recommend this daycare to anyone. My children love being there, great management, caring teachers. I highly recommend this daycare. I have toured many daycares and this is by far the most clean one I've seen Pros: great staff, plenty of room Cons: can't think of any off hand more
