I had heard good things about this restaurant, clearly they have received accolades from the media and patrons around town and since they deliver I thought it would be good to try them out on a day when I just wasn't feeling up to cooking or going out.
Unfortunately I found out that they have a $20 order minimum for delivery, which is more than a little steep. By comparison, Thai Basil's minimum is $10 and the Chinese place I used to go to in a similar area the order minimum is $15. Since they do not post this clearly on their website (they say FREE DELIVERY, which definitely leaves one with the impression that there is NOT an order minimum) I had not anticipated ordering that much food and had to go back to look at the menu to pick something else.
While I was looking at the menu I was put on hold, but not like the silent hold where you hear music and it is clear when the person on the other end of the line is back with you, no. It was obvious that they just put the phone down on the counter. When the guy taking my order came back I told him what I had decided on to fill out my order and then he disappeared again. When he finally came back on the line he asked if he could call me back. Who does that?!
At that point I just told them to forget it. It may be a busy Friday night, but that's no excuse to have crap customer service. I was on the phone for 3 and half minutes with them and ended up just annoyed and still hungry by the end.
I still haven't tried their food, and at this rate I frankly doubt if I ever will.
