Lionsgate Event Center

From the highway 287 the Lionsgate is mostly hidden making this spectacular venue unknown to even the locals unless you had the pleasure of attending a fabulous event there already.\r As the party/event planner for my company I like to try new places every year, but because of the size of the my company now (225), I need a good size venue. I have run out of venues in Boulder so I decided to check out the Lionsgate in Lafayette.\r I was lucky enough to meet with Paige (got to check out the Dove House next door too which is beyond amazing) who showed me the Lionsgate grounds and the Gatehouse facility. She truly loves her job, it shows. \r \r WOW, ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! I was sold the moment I walked into the Gatehouse. What a pleasant surprise to see such a wonderful large beautifully designed and decorated venue. Originally this was a family dairy farm and many of the original features remain as the remodeling was done to enhance the charm and character of the old dairy farm along with the farm's original family house. The space is large enough to seat up to 350 comfortably surrounded by a large warm fireplace and the west facing wall has gorgeous antique stained glass along with easy access to the outdoors' private grounds. There is a centrally located bar and a large food access area to accommodate a large group at once. The price included all the tables, linens, etc....making my planning a breeze.\r \r My Company's Holiday Party was a BIG SMASH and everyone was blown away by and heard from many that this was the BEST place ever! We have already ready booked our party for this year (2013) as everyone is anxiously looking forward to returning.\r \r Much kudos to the owners who remodeled these amazing facilities and keeping up with maintaining its original character and charm along with adding the beautiful antique stained glass.\r \r Anyone planning a big event/party will be most pleased by choosing the Lionsgate's Gatehouse or Dovehouse to host it. A memorable event for everyone! \r more

If you are looking for a beautiful place to have your wedding and a stress-free experience then look no further! We had our wedding at the Gatehouse and had an absolutely perfect day! The location is just beautiful and it was the perfect combination with an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very accessible when you have questions. We did take advantage of the vendor package offered and it took so much stress out of the planning process! Every vendor recommended was absolutely perfect for us. I got my dream wedding and I stayed (mostly) sane! more

Can not recommend this Event facility enough. Everything was exactly the way I wanted it. The staff is very professional and helpful. I just recently had my wedding here and was beyond impressed! The office staff were warm and friendly and assisted with every detail of my event. The package deal was sooo helpful in the planning process and I was happy with all the vendors. Not to mention the place is GORGEOUS inside and out!! I would recommend this facility to anyone for any event! Pros: Wonderful staff, great outdoor setup, lots of stuff included Cons: Not a single thing more

The experience at Lionsgate/Dove House was great for our wedding. No complaints there! However, my husband and I were hugely disappointed in our wedding photographs from Wendy Saunders. Originally, we were impressed by the fact that she still uses film along with digital, and she seemed to have an artistic eye. She also offered ""upgrades"" in her wedding packages by including black and whites and sepia (film.) We had to wait approximately 3 months after our wedding to view our photographs, and because Wendy does not have a modern system for viewing the photos we had to drive to Lafeyette to pick up a ""preview"" book so we could pick out the photos we wanted. Her method and pricing was extremely confusing, the digitals were poorly displayed, and the black and whites were given to us in a thumbnail negative!!!! We had to use a magnifying glass to try to see anything in the black and whites and STILL couldn't tell what we were seeing (i.e.,were we smiling in the photo? who are the people in the background?) We also had to ask for many photos to be reprinted as there were blue streaks, yellow streaks and white streaks on them, or the paper they were printed on had a crease running down the side. It seemed as though she didn't even view the photos before handing them over to us and asking for our money. Unfortunately, we had to drive to Lafayette each time she had corrected photos to give us. The ""finished album"" was EXTREMELY disappointing. The digitals looked pixely, the black and whites were out of focus and grainy (what Wendy called ""soft"" and that's what my husband and I called BS! We couldn't tell that with the magnifying glass) AND there was blue ink on some of the photos in the finished album! We felt the quality was extremely poor for someone who considers themselves a professional and for the amount of money we paid; we really don't want anyone else to be deceived and let down with a poor documentation of one of the best days of their lives.
