Best Ceviche I tried!!!!!! 1/20/2009

I went last Saturday to have some ceviche at this small restaurant with my husband. We had Pisco Sour that was ok and Fish and Salmon Ceviche. The Ceviches were really excellent with a side of huge steam corn. Then we tried the Creamy salmon with rice that was amazing!!!! The atmosphere was romantic, the service was good. I recommend the place. Pros: Ceviche, Seafood. more

Glad I Came Here in the Pouring Rain 12/17/2008

Had plans to eat dinner here but since it started pouring, I almost decided not to go. Glad I didn't let the rain from changing my plans. Ceviche was very good as well as the papa rallena (sp?). Tried the cow heart skewers and they were tasty. Had the escaveche (fish) and the sauce was very good. Drinks were good as well (pisco sour and sangria). Service was a little on the slower side but maybe thats just the culture. The food and drinks more then made up for a relaxing night at a cozy restaurant. Pros: fresh ceviche, good pisco sour Cons: average service bordering on slow more

Just Wonderful!!!!! 12/13/2008

I went to this cozy peruvian restaurant last Friday with some doubts before reading the mixed reviews, but my experience was excellent. The food was superb! The mix ceviche and the filet mignon were so tasty, the drinks (pisco sour) were ok. The service was very good, the waitress kindly answered all our questions about the menu. I strongly recommend this place and I definitely will come back. Pros: Food. Cons: Music. more

Great FOOD 10/1/2008

Reasonable prices and GREAT food. Good wine portions - you get a lot for what you pay for. This place is really known for their seafood, so I can't really complain. However, I've heard that their chicken are good too. You have to order their desserts. more

Definitely worth frequenting 9/18/2008

This was the first of numerous Latin cuisine places we visited on a recent trip to NYC. Nice enough inside, but some soap opera was playing on the flat screen that early evening, rather than SoAm futbol, or something. The Ceviche Pescado was terrific, but VERY limey. Still, we preferred it over the Mezcla. Followed by what is probably the best piece of Snapper I've ever had (We live on the florida East Coast, and get a lot), firm, still moist, with a slightly sweet, caramelized topcoat. Really, really well-executed. Service was fine, and attentive enough, although the place was only half-full at 5:30 on a Thursday. We left wishing we had a few places like this close to our home. Try it. more

great musells 8/10/2008

We visited Limas on a warm friday afternoon and immediately got a glass of sangria..this is not your mammas sangria.. it goes down so smoothly and packs quite a punch..we loved it.. we were just looking for a small dish or two so we did the mussells lima and wow what a great dish. the mussels were plump and the onions lime and othe vegtables were crisp and so tasty.. a great dish for a july afternoon. we then had a shrimp chichoro(sp)..shrimp on a stick which came with a great sauce that we really enjoyed.. service was wonderful as the waitress explained all the dishes to us..we will retune Pros: greta sangria more

OMG Great Food, Great Atmosphere 8/6/2008

Excellent Birthday Dinner 6/26/2008

I had my birthday dinner here a few months ago and was very happy with the overall experience. We were a party of about 15, many of whom arrived late. The host still sat us and the wait staff handled the large crowd wonderfully. On top of the good service, the food was excellent! Everyone I spoke to after dinner commented on how great their meal was and many of us plan to go back in the future. I would highly recommend Lima's Taste for any occasion. Pros: Excellent food more

I thought it was Peruvian 2/6/2008

The seafood ceviche was delicious but too picante for my friends...the rest of the food was ok. Better the Pisco souer. I went there hoping to find a good taste of Peruvian food and friendly people. Anfortunately the service was awful...the waiters were not at all friendly and they brought us the check without even asking for it and we couldn't get desert or more piscos. A complete dissapointed as I have Peruvian friends are very nice and warm. I won't be back there for sure. more

Overpriced and overspiced 9/24/2007

While we quite enjoyed Peruvian food in Peru we were very disappointed by Lima's Taste. Apart from the ceviche and the pisco sour which were quite good, the main dishes were mediocre and the lamb I ordered had so much pepper my taste buds went completely numb. Pros: Good location, cozy Cons: Mediocre food, poor service, expensive more

Best Peruvian food in NYC and EXCELLENT Service 6/23/2007

Where should I start pleasant and friendly environment as you walk in, the ceviche bar is amazing not only they have a great variety of ceviche is also the best ceviche we ever had it's clearly the best compared to any other. Hot appetizer like rellena, anticucho are out of this world, main courses like lomo, ribs, picante are to die for its DELICIOUS!!! Overall is the most delicious Peruvian authentic food we ever had everything is so yummy and well decorated. The service is very friendly makes you feel like home along with good looking waiters is a plus GREAT SERVICE. The drinks pisco sours and sangria are also amazing we definitely coming back without a doubt and if you havent been there yet you should we highly recommended. Pros: The music is great well put together Cons: if you drive over is hard to find parking more

NIghtmare 6/21/2007

Bad place, service is very bad, they make you feel that they are doing you a favor for eating there, the food is over priced, over $20. the environment is not for kids, innapropiate peoples' pictures at the bathroom walls. more

I HAD TO CALL THE POLICE!! 6/17/2007

My dining experience in this place was a nightmare, when I ordered a bottle of wine the waiter got me an uncorked one, put it on the table and walked away when I asked the waiter for the menu because I was sure that I didn't make a mistake on my order the manager showed up with the excuse that they were serving a ""substitute""??, I was so upset because they tried to fool me in something so basic that I told the manager that I was leaving , in that moment the guy replied ...""go and never come back"", of course I won't!! then the same waiter from the other side of the room yelled "" get out you f**"" and four guys from the kitchen surrounded me trying to intimidate me, at that point I called the police, if you don't believe me call the Precinct (police) they should have a note of the incident. Pros: Located on a nice and friendly neighborhood Cons: worst service ever, even worst management. more

BEST FOOD EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5/1/2007

This is the best food in the city. If you love to eat good food, with amazing flavours then you should definetly eat here. Peruvian food is the best on earth, but here it is made even better. the Aji de pollo, Picante, lomo saltado, escaveche are amazing. Everytime single time I go I always have a great time- the ambience is beautiful, the service is perfect, and the food is amazing. more

Incredible service and flavorful dishes 4/18/2007

I had the most amazing dining experience on friday night. I had recently returned from a trip to Peru and was craving the native food when a neighbor recommended Lima's Taste. I was greeted with a smile at the door and the waiter went out of his way to find the perfect seating arrangements in an already packed resturaunt. I can be very picky when ordering and all my needs were met exactly. I had the ceviche and my friend had the aji de pollo.............wow!! I felt like i was back in Lima. I can wait to return to try the rest of the menu and the friendly service will be an added bonus. This restaurant is a must try and definitely on my top ten list. Thank you Lima's taste :) Pros: Attentive service, diverse menu Cons: there is only one lima's taste in the city more

Really Bad Service 4/14/2007

I went there on Friday night, I?m Peruvian, and I have to say the food is not that great. It doesn't taste like any Peruvian food that I know. However, that's not the worst part it was the horrible service we had. The waiter was awful and couldn't wait to get rid of us he basically kicked us out by bringing the check while I was still eating. I wasn't even done and he brought the check over! It gives Peruvians such a bad image. Cons: Service more

this place don't have quality food 4/8/2007

I went there twice, I had the worst service and the food is always have no flavor whatsoever, I don't know how this place is on business, advice for the owner change all the waiters and hire a new chef if you want to be on business for long more
