They made me switch rooms in the middle of the massage! 4/25/2009

I have gone to L&R multiple times and considered myself to be a good customer of theirs - until this last time. The place has slowly gone downhill. Although I have never been completely thrilled with this place (kind of dingy and cluttered, bad bathroom), I went there bc it is 2 blocks from me, inexpensive, and the massage ladies are decent. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Cluttered space, terrible customer service more

Best experience ever!!! 2/23/2009

I have never been inclined to write a review of any establishment I've been to, but after my experience at Lilly & Raul, I just had to share my thoughts. My fiance's b-day was this past weekend, so I decided instead of the usual dinner and drinking with friends to try something different. He does a lot of hard labor so I thought a massage would be a great idea (I know I really needed one too). After scouring the internet for the best massage for the best price, I chose Lilly and Raul because they seem to have gotten rave reviews and were much less expensive than other places. We went for an hour couple's session and it was the greatest massage ever!!! My masseuse rubbed out every knot in my body, even ones I didn't know I had, and made sure to ask if she was applying the right amount of pressure and not hurting me, which she wasn't, I was in heaven. My fiance was extremely pleased with his and was even drooling at one point because he was so relaxed. All the pain he had was completely gone, as well as mine. Neither of us has ever felt so relaxed and we thank Lilly & Raul's for doing an exceptional job, especially myself for making my fiance feel great for his b-day!! We will definitely be coming back!! Pros: Low prices, great massage, kind and professional staff Cons: None that I can think of more

bad 11/25/2008

I do not like this place at all. Lilly & Raul is not a good place at all to go to. They messed up my sons hair very badly. I would not recommend this place. more

Inexpensive and Best 1hour Massage ever! 10/26/2008

I treated my girlfriend to a massage for her birthday. I was searching spas to find the best place, and I came to find this place. I'm so glad that I chose the right place. It was such an experience. It is not a "luxury spa", it is just cozy and quaint office space, that has massage rooms. The ambiance is comfy, once you get in to the room the lights are dim and light oriential music is playing, which makes it more relaxing. The lady I had her name is Judy. She was the best. She massaged every part of my body, my legs, my back, arms, hands, neck, and head. I never had a massage like that at all. I couldnt believe it was an hour, it felt like eternity. Also, she eased the stress in back and shoulders. I was relaxed for the rest of the evening and my posture felt much better. As well as that is the best gift you can give to a friend, family member, boyfriend, etc..Highly recommended!!! Pros: Reasonable deal! Cons: The bathroom is in the hallway of the office building. more

Best Inexpensive Massage! 10/3/2008

This is the best $50 ($39 with tip) I've spent on a massage. I usually try to avoid the risk of bad technique and distracting decor from inexpensive places, but I have to say Lilly & Raul beats some $100+ massages I've been to and I'm definitely coming back. They do wonders with the massage rooms (place is in an office building) - peaceful, quiet, enough to make you feel relaxed. The massage was awesome - she asked if i wanted a hard massage and I was so happy when she really dug in. Definitely would recommend this place if you're tight on budget and want to treat yourself to a massage every month or so! more

Best cheap Massage in nyc! 4/29/2008

Despite the past reviews I thought the place wasn't to bad looking at all. They even had a robe for you to put on.My Masseuse was Judy, she was quiet and knew where my knots were without me having to tell her.I have heard about this place through the grapevine and was very surprised at how cheap it was.Their is no shower and you need a key to go outside the office to a hallway bathroom...which i wasn't to happy about. However everything else was fine and I nearly floated out of there!!!... Pros: very good cheap massage in a pleasant setting Cons: outside hallway bathroom more

Great Massage 3/18/2008

I have been going to Lily and Raul's now for several months now. I try to get a massage every other week. I am very greatful to them for providing these wonderful massages for the price they do. I have all kinds of pain and stiffness and so I am able to get massage more frequently amd it has really improved my sleep and mobility. All the therapists I had have been good but I usually ask for Judy because I like a hard massage and she has great hands. They do have a standard routine that they do so you know what to expect. They seem to know when there is a problem area and will focus in on it -- I think as with any massage if it is too hard or not hard enough you need to say something. I have had terrible massages from other high priced spas and great ones as well so Iknow the difference. Thank you LIlly and Raul! Pros: Value for your money, good therapists-- and theraputic massage Cons: if you are looking for a "spa" atmosphere go somewhere else. more

Great FInd 2/7/2008

I've been going to Lilly and Raul's for 4 months now, I am hooked. I moved to New York City this past summer and things are a little tight as I get my life together and this place is such a great savings. I was introduced to this place by my girlfriend Evelyn, who swears by their work. Pros: Great Service, Better Price more

Ridiculously affordable, quiet and relaxing ambience, great massage 1/10/2008

I've been here several times and also brought my boyfriend once for a couples' massage (men are only allowed to go there as part of a couple - a nice touch, I think). The massages are very good and strong! They really work out the knots. (But they ask if the pressure is okay and respond accordingly). Pros: Cheap, easy to schedule apt, good location, very effective massage more

It is ok for the price. 12/28/2007

I have been to this place twice. My second massage was not as good as the first. Definitely not a spa. For a spa experience, go to a spa. Pros: price Cons: noise and distraction more

Great massage, great price! 12/20/2007

I was there last weekend with my husband. First of all, the price iz amazing. I was kind of expecting to get what i was paying for, but it was much much better than my expectations. Soothing atmospehere, large couple rooms, friendly staff. We're planning to do this couple massage regularly on a monthly basis now... Pros: great prices, clean, friendly prefessional. Cons: located midtown in an office building. more

Not bad for the price 11/1/2007

I did a couples massage and the massage wasn't bad, if you like the kneading type. I was a little sore for the next couple of days. What I didn't like is that during our massage here the masseuse were talking to each other. That kind of took away from the whole relaxing and romantic aspect of the massage. Other than that it wasn't bad for the price. Pros: Really good price Cons: They talked during the massage more

Best Massage I've Ever Had...Will Not Go Anwhere Else Ever Again!!! 10/11/2007

I've been meaning to write a review for this place for a while. I've been going here for over a year and I have never been let down. Not only are the prices amazing but it's literally the best massage I've ever had. Why spend over $100 when you can go to Lilly's and get a phenomenal massage for less than half the price!!! It's a very comfortable environment, clean, and relaxing. I go at least twice a month! And I've had probably every girl there...they are all equally great. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Pros: Excellent massages, friendly, relaxing, inexpensive Cons: NONE! more

Incredible 7/30/2007

After reading the reviews on this website, I made an appointment. My back was in knots, and they fit me in the very same day! I've had several massages before, and this was one of the best. Pros: wonderful atmosphere, great price Cons: none more

Best massage in the city!!! 5/19/2007

i had a great relaxing time at this place. I think i will visit this place oce in a week from now on. more

Amazing Massage - Amazing Prices 5/14/2007

I love coming to Lilly and Raul's, especially now that they've moved to a bigger and nicer space near Grand Central Station. The massages my friend and I received tonight were perfect - my masseuse constantly checked with me about my comfort and pressure levels, and every part of my body felt pampered. She focused on my back and legs, with mini-massages for my hands, ankles, and feet, before flipping me over and giving my forehead and neck some attention too. I went into the salon feeling crappy and came out feeling amazing. My friend and I couldn't stop talking about how light and airy we felt afterwards. Cheap at even twice the price, I hope to make this a monthly relaxation ritual. Simply blissful. Pros: Unbeatable price, soothing massage, convenient location Cons: None. more

I'm hooked- this is the best deal in the city! 5/7/2007

I tried out this space recently because I'm always on the lookout for a good massage that doesn't cost $200. I am completely sold after my first experience. Although the building that Lily and Raul is housed in is a little sketchy, the spa itself is so beautiful and cozy. The massage rooms are perfect little getaways that really relax you. I also love that you can get a massage next to a friend with just a curtain in between you if you don't want to get a couples massage or go it alone. The actual massage feels amazing and just the right amount of pressure is used. Be prepared to leave oily though! They do use lotions/oils all over your body. The price is amazing and can't be beat. There are also little candies and snacks in the entrance for a nice sweet treat after your service. My only complaint is that I was a bit cold during my massage, which really doesn't help in the relaxation process. Turn up the heat one notch and the experience is perfection! Pros: Price/Value, Ambiance, Massage quality Cons: I was cold! more

Commuting Ritual 4/3/2007

I travel to New York City every month for business reason and I try and get a facial while I'm here. One of my associates at the firm gave me a beautifully designed business card for Lilly and Raul. I was told there are no services for facials but you can get the very best massage on a budget. We made an appointment for noon and we arrived to our appointments late. We were greeted cheerfully and were taken to our rooms for a full hour massage. I was amazed that our session was not cut down due to our tardiness. I am off asian descent so I like a very strong massage. I was given one of the best massages I've had in years. I guess my facials are going to take a back seat to my visits here. Highly recommended and will encourage others at my firm to visit. Pros: Massage Technique more

My Wonderful Mika 4/1/2007

I've had quite a few asian Tui Na sessions in my life and I find the time spent with Mika, one of the asian body workers, that workers at Lilly's to be the best. She has a firm hand and a gentle way of applying pressure. Sometimes you run into some communication problems at Tui Na centers but this is not the case. Some days I want a firm session and others I just want some relaxing work. She also intuitively understands my body. I recommend Mika and Lilly's 100%. Also, for me, the rate is unbelievable. Pros: MIka, Rate, Atmosphere Cons: None more

Spa Weekend 3/25/2007

I actually had a spa session the previous day before i visited Lilly and Raul. I had a gift certificate for a upscale spa on 5th ave which I used on Saturday. It was a lovely experience but it did not leave the effect I was looking for. My girlfriends invited me to this low cost massage place that caters to women exclusively, so we all went on Sunday. We arrived at their location 15 minutes before our scheduled session so we waited in the reception room and munched on the treats that are placed out for everyone. Nice quiet place, in a office building, the reception always checked to make sure we were okay and assured us that our session would be on time. Right on schedule we were led to our rooms, my friend Rachel asked if we could all be in the same room, there were three of us. The reception said if we all didn't mind being together they would accommodate our request. They have two large couples rooms and one of them was big enough for 3 tables. After the dust settled for our massages, I had the best deep tissue massage ever. They call it TuiNa Pros: Best Deep Tissue Massage, Price more
