Our Getaway to Nantucket Island and Century House 1/29/2009

We had a wonderful time here and look forward to July '09! It's our favorite place to stay in Nantucket and would recommend it highly! The homemade cookies, the breakfast, the laid-back atmosphere, quiet location the staff and most of all the upgraded classy rooms are all a part of what makes this place so special and unique. I could go on and on. Pros: location, breakfast, renovated room, quiet away from noise, historic inn Cons: wish we stayed longer more

Our 20th Wedding Anniversary!!! 12/22/2008

We are happy to recommend this inn to anyone looking for a place to celebrate an anniversary. We were here for the 20th wedding anniversary here, a gift from our son. We were very happy to spend five nights in July when the roses were in bloom. The island is very charming from the moment you step off the ferry: little roads, blooming flowers everywhere, cool weather, and beautiful skies. The inn is withing walking distance with beautiful decor, quite large, quaint, and welcoming. The innkeepers had champagne waiting for us and little chocolates. What a nice little surprise. They served snacks in the early evenings and they had complimentary drinks through the day. And you I can't forget the cookies. Delicious! The breakfast is also unlike any we've had, a buffet of berries. We walked downtown to the little shops, layed out on the beach during the day, and relaxed on the porch area in the evenings. We enjoyed our king size room with a comfortable bed, so comfortable I wanted my husband to buy one for us. The inn is very historic with a lot of antique furniture and old charm. Since both of us are into antiques, we loved it. It was one of the best vacations we've ever had and we'd love to come back someday. more

Summer memories 11/24/2008

Being the only Zagat rated bed and breakfast on Nantucket, we decided to try it out this summer. I can say we were not disappointed. From the moment you walk in this inn exudes charm and luxury combined with a historic, quaint atmosphere; and very romantic. We had a memorable experience worth every $. The breakfast is delicious with healthy choices. The room was super clean and fresh. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. It?s more like staying at your grandma?s house rather than a hotel. We rented bikes and enjoyed the Nantucket beauty. The weather was perfect. The beaches are close by, as well as the downtown. The location couldn't be better. It?s a must lodging choice for Nantucket! more

A lovely inn 4/25/2008

We prefer bb's over hotels. So when we decided on a place we chose The Century House. We were very impressed with the history and the character of this inn. The rooms were immaculate and beautifully decorated. Every morning we had a delicious breakfast of berries, yogurt and the best granola. The inn is quiet. The location couldn't be better, close to the beach and downtown. more

The Perfect Retreat 1/3/2008

I've been told that Nantucket Island is the perfect getaway; however, now I know that the Century House is the only place to stay while visiting. This magnificent B&B is located on a picturesque corner near the downtown shopping area on Main St., which was wonderful because I did not pick up a set of car keys during the entire trip! Pros: loved the location: close to town and beaches, great friendly staff, healthy breakfast Cons: leaving too soon more

Best place to stay on the island. Great vacation!! 1/3/2008

We finally made it to this faraway island...perfect weather during our October getaway, a six day bliss. We stayed here (Century House), a luxury bed and breakfast on Cliff Road, a beautiful historic building from the 1800's, cobblestone streets surrounded with great views. What a pleasant, breathtaking fall destination!!! The rooms are decorated with paintings of Nantucket, antique furniture and plenty of books. We even met some of the artists painting there. The location is great for walking or simply sitting on the porch to relax. On foggy days we loved the homemade baked chocolate chip cookies. Fantastic staff and an awesome breakfast! Highly recommended. Pros: location, breakfast, quiet ambiance Cons: vacation not long enough more

Nantucket Island - A favorite painting destination!! 10/12/2007

For years Nantucket has been a favorite painting destination. Now, for a second year, staying at the Century House has enhanced this experience with the warmth of its host and staff, the scrumptious breakfast and painters pasta dinners and the ambiance of its beautiful rooms. It was a delight on a rainy day to stay indoors and paint the lovely salon. Pros: painting opportunities, art program, lovely rooms Cons: not staying long enough more

Best Bed and Breakfast on Nantucket 10/10/2007

We visited for the first time for five days in August and fell in love with Nantucket Island. There is no place like Nantucket Island. We loved the reviews of the Century House inn so we gave it a try. We decided to stay at the Century House because of its location and history: historic district yet walking distance to the beaches, the restaurants, downtown...not in the middle of the hustle and bustle. We prefer privacy. Cliff Road is a more quiet, hidden area of the island. The inn is charming, quiet, friendly, family-oriented, and home-like. There is a lot of sitting area outside to enjoy the Nantucket breezes. Most of the people who stayed at the same time seemed to celebrate their anniversaries. We met some honeymooners. Pros: luxury beautifully decorated rooms, comfortable beds, historic district, friendly staff, unique, walking distance to downtown, ambience, parking on the street, Cons: steep stairs more

  • Welcome home to your coastal escape, where nods to the island's native flora fill each guest room with an air of Nantucket nonchalance. Inspired by a worldly innkeeper, we designed our sun-soaked rooms with raffia writing desks and botanical rain showers. Our other amenities need no introduction. You'll find the Le Labo bath products, Revival New York linens, and Marshall speakers you know and love in every room.
