I've been to Libation atleast 3 times now, the food is good the drinks are better, and that Hector (the waiter/bartender) is AMAZING!!!!! Great ambiance makes for a better experie...

I recently invited my friends on Thursday after work for my birthday. The place is stylish, cocktails are yummy, and food was decent. Music was so-so, before a real DJ arrived. Just don't trust good rating for after work and happy hour. They don't have 'happy hour'. I tried to use the citysearch happy hour coupon, but our waitress took it away and never got back to us if we can use it. The place is EMPTY during after-work hours. It was nice that table reservation wasn't required and we could actually 'talk'. The place closed its doors after 10pm for a private eve nt. We didn't have to leave, but it would have been nice if someone informed usin case I was expecting someone after 10! Pros: Interior Design, roomy weekday nights, special cocktails Cons: no Happy Hour, coupon doesn't work more

I have a blast whenever I go to Libation. The drinks are fun, the music keeps me excited to be out in the city, and the decor boasts lush lighting coupled with simple design. It's just great! Everyone who works there seems to be having fun, even when they're really busy. The space is unreal - large and lofty with high ceilings and a balcony, but cozy because it's narrow with tight staircases. There is so much going on at Libation - you can be crazy, dance wildly, or relax into the scenery and music. It's especially a great place to bring out-of-town friends!!! Overall, it's a lovely addition to the LES. more

this place was terrible... door people were ultra snooty, and we had 7 girls and one guy in our group and they said we had to leave if the guy didn't buy bottle service... plus the music was really lame, 90's top 40 music... it's definitely the LAST thing the LES needs Cons: door policy, music more

Great Party Spot! 10/2/2005

Had a birthday party there this past weekend and cant rave about it enough. All my guests had a great time. The place is hot. The staff went above and beyond taking care of my guests. Would definely go back. Pros: great staff, fun atmosphere more

Rude service; Inconsistent, door policy 9/30/2005

My friends planned a birthday party for me and another girl called ahead twice to ask about cover. They told her free for ladies all night and $10 for guys after 11pm. We had 50 people coming and they changed the door policy on us, requiring every 4 guys to buy bottle service at $250/bottle, even though we had more girls than guys and we had a crowd of 25 people already waiting outside. The girl at the door couldn't even keep the policy straight, charging everyone different. The manager was a jerk about it, saying they gave us wrong info when we called twice before. We were a young, well-dressed group of professionals and their horrible attitude forced us to take our business somewhere else. Had to call 20 friends to change the location. Totally ruined the mood and the rest of the night. Cons: bad service more

Party Heaven 9/23/2005

Libation is the best place to have a private party.. i did last night!! it was fantastic, definatley Libation made my birthday.. All my friends got in no problem. The bouncers were fun and friendly. The staff truly made it happen for me. they were so kind and the managers did what ever they could for me. I couldn't thank them enough. I had an awesome time there and my friends i think will be talking about my party for a long time. IT ROCKED!!! Libation is the hippest and coolest place for any kind of party!!! more

I have been to Libation many times since they opened a few months ago. The first time I went to a friends birthday party that was a total blast. The food was great and the atmosphere did not dissapoint. Since then me and my friends make it a point to stop in on a regular basis. Expensive Fun 9/17/2005

The bartenders were fantastic, despite the off-the-wall prices. The real problem with this place is the line later in the evening and the absurd volume at which they play the music. Now, the DJ is great and the drummer guy is pretty cool, but it all needs to be turned down a notch. Also, it's very narrow and on 3 levels, making the staircases pretty annoying... Pros: bartenders, DJ's choices Cons: decibel level, lines, awkward space more

This is the best place in New York!!! From the time I stepped up to the door to the time I left a huge smile was plastered on my face. Great place to party!!!!!!!!!!!!! 9/13/2005

I was in Libation on a Saturday Night and the place was of the chain. The D.J pumped out the the greatest songs. My girlfreinds and I danced are faces off. They had incredible drinks that were really resonable for such a high end place. The three floors was faboulus. The Filet Mignon mini burgers were execelent. The bartenders and the bouncers are all very polite and really on top of everything In fact they apperar to be having as much fun as everyone there. Great place to go!!!!! more

well we went last weekend on a SAT NIGHT about this place ! FUN, FUN , FUN !!! the night starts with sexy Door Men ! wow Both Greated everyone so Nice and warm and with the high tech ID check we knew we were safe & going 2 have fun from the start of the night ! The Italian Bouncer at the door was the nicest Bouncer I have ever met in a long time at a club like this ! ( besides being SOOOO HANDSOME !! wow 2 SEXY! ) when we entered wow its such a site VERY HIGH CLASS looks like it does not belong in the LES! very sexy & great music, nice bartenders & just a great place 2 party ! the drinks R a bit over priced but don't let that stop U from going 2 the NEW Place on the LES Pros: DOOR MEN, SEXY PLACE, MUSIC Cons: Drink prices more

When i went to Libation with my friends, I had the best night ever! The DJ was awesome and he definatley knew how to get the crowd going for a great night of partying. The staff were extremely nice and friendly, I am making this my regular hot spot! The crowd were good looking too, which was a bonus! Lower East side's "Libation" rocks!! Definately a must!!! more

Had my boyfriends birthday party in Libation and I could not be happier. From the moment I called till the party was over I was treated fantastic. We had the party on the second floor mezzanine, the space was awesome, the food was second to none and the music kept everyone partying all night. If your looking to be treated with respect and have a great time in NY's hottest new nightspot I could not recommend any place in the city more than Libation!!! Pros: Great space, Food, Service more
