At last a wine bar like a wine bar should be 11/5/2007

This is an absolute gem! Let's start from the wine list, the knowledge, the unpretentious attitude and freindly service are only the tip of the iceberg. This is a must whether you are a neighbor, in the neighborhood, or even if you have to make the trip to this fabulous spot. I went there on a date and it was just great we had our privacy yet sat with everyone. The round bar and the interaction with the staff are a rare change to the otherwise alienating service you get from most bars in NYC. Well done Lelabar. I wish you success and promise you will be seeing me again. more

Highly recommended ..................... Great place!!!! 11/4/2007

Finally a place that serve wines in proper glasses!!! Great local crowd!! The one you want to meet when you are out in the city. The oval shape creates a great vibe. I drank a great wine: Duck Pond, Willamette Valley. Though you can find some very impressive wines in the list, what impressed me the most is the great wines in the $60 - $100 price range. more

defiantly be back 10/27/2007

\r Coming from the industry it was a refreshing experience. At last a place that knows what it?s doing.\r Way too often we get our wine served in the wrong glass and temperatures but not in this bar.\r It was a pleasure to hear the bartender talk about wine, and we liked a lot your recommendations-Salute for the ?Sagrantino Di Montefalco, Roccaducale? which was delicious.\r We will defiantly be back.\r Shelli J.\r more

Best real wine bar 10/9/2007

I got an invitation to go to Lela bar one night. I was so happy when I arrived. I could not believe how many bottles of wine, I wished other places had, were actually on their list. Fine choices and selections of not only wine, but they also serve very good food that complemented my picky palete! For dessert I was even able to have Moet 'white Star"" by the glass! The atmosphere was lovely, and warm. If you really know what you are talking about when it comes to fine wines, this is the spot. Or even if you do not know, but wish you did, the Sommelier / bartender with official pins and all helped my less informed friends on their choices. WOW! This is my new home away from home! more
