Worst car buying experience of my life 6/20/2007

If I could give no stars, I would! Buying a new car from them was the worst car buying experience of my life! They outright lied to me throughout the process ad tried to slip in changes at the last minute hoping I wouldn't notice major differences in what we negotiated and what they tried to get me to sign. Of course they played good cop/bad cop by sending in different people to talk to me and each one tried to blame the other for their dishonesty. SO shady! If you want a honest, smooth, forthright buying experience, go anywhere else. Pros: low pressure sales Cons: incompetent business managers, shady business practices more

Beware 4/16/2007

After I bought the car I had to go back because I noticed that the dealership did not put the untitled vehicle tags on it. No problem. They put the tags on and told me that I'd see the proper registration before mid-October. They also neglected to give me my copy of the contracts I'd signed - including the contract that waives any grievance rights.\r \r At the end of October I was STILL waiting for my vehicle registration. It had not arrived in the mail as it should have and I spent a great deal of time chasing up anyone who knew what had happened to it. \r \r Eventually,at the start of November,I received a call from someone (I was at work and I didn't catch her name) that my 'paperwork' was returned in the mail to the Airport Blvd location. I was foolish for thinking it was sorted when I set foot in there - nobody knew what I was talking about and they made it seem like I was crazy for making the claim that someone from their offices called me. Regardlessly, I had to push hard to get them to sort the registration - considering that I was still without proper registration.\r \r And I'd recommend anyone buying a car second hand from them ensure that they have the carfax report in hand as well as having a trustworthy mechanic look at the car before signing on the dotted line.\r \r I will never buy from Leif Johnson again. As I was new to Austin when I bought the car, I've learned quickly and should've asked around about this dealership. Many people I know have had numerous, disappointing experiences with this company. \r \r However, I would like to say that the salesman who helped us was outstanding. He could handle his job. It's just when you're forced to deal with the financial manager and other general managers you may feel like you're combatting mindnumbing, inane simpletons. Pros: Locations; personable, no pressure sales Cons: Post-purchasing aftermath more

Great service, best internet deals 1/10/2007

I shopped all over Central Texas looking for an SUV to fit our family's budget through the internet. I could not seem to find any great deals until I found one from Leif Johnson, no hassle pricing. We found a Tahoe for $4000 under blue book. We love it. They sent the Carfax report to me via email and I applied for credit online. When we arrived from a 2 hour drive they made it worth our time. They match our current great interest rates and were able to finance within our budget with no money down. It was one of the smoothest car buying experiences ever. Pros: many financing options Cons: little selection, Koenig location more

Fraud Alert Buyer Beware 9/1/2006

My mother and myself purchased two vehicles from Leif Johnson Superstore North in two days. The second car that was purchased, a 2002 Ford Expedition, from them, there has been problems with financing. I took delivery of the vehicle under the impression that we were approved through a certain bank. Approximately one month later Leif Johnson Superstore North wanted to resign the contract again, as they stated they did not get their paperwork in in a timely fashion. Although the vehicle was titled in my name and my mothers name . We have signed the contract on numerous occasions and have done everything under the contract as well as the Bailment agreement and they are demanding their vehicle back with no refund of my $2500 down payment. I have four contracts with the date on all of them being the same date as well as miles. Even though the contract were all signed on different dates! I'am also concerned That Leif Johnson Ford has run my credit as well as my mothers on several occasions and has flagged my report as well. I have been harassed as well as my mother and my husband. I have received calls from several people within Leif Johnson Ford as well as a private investigator. My personal information as well as my mothers has been discussed with people other than myself and my mother. It is my understanding that this is an on going thing with Leif Johnson Ford to deliver a vehicle without the proper financing and only a month or two later, take the vehicle back along with the down payment. This information came from a salesperson at the dealership. I am seeking my full down payment of $2500, as I fulfilled my end of the Bailment Agreement! They delivered a vehicle that did not have financing, commonly referred to as BAIT and SWITCH! Pros: Management has lack of customer service skills Cons: Sales person was great, she sold 2 cars in two days more

They claim their the best 6/25/2003

Over a period of four days they offered 3 different vehicles they then said we're unavailable or unattainable, told me they'd require a minimal downpayment then required nearly a grand, and tried selling a 1992 valued at 2995 for 5999. Pros: Selection Cons: Overpriced, Rude, Inept more
