It takes a combination of factors to get me to give a place one star. In a way, it's not fair to the waitress who served me. She was just fine, timely, polite, etc. But, I had the catfish pot and steamed spinach. The rice was good. End of story. The catfish, no kidding, was the worst food I've ever eatern. I had two catfish steaks, not fillets. That means cutting the fish away from the bone. In and of itself, not a big deal, except the fish didn't want to come off the bone, a classic sign of not good fish or undercooking, or both. No matter because it tasted awful. The steamed spinach had more oil on it that Saudi Arabia. Greasey and a ton of garlic on it. I ordered a scotch on the rocks. The drink was about 1/2 a shot on ice that had that bad refrigerator taste. Who knows, maybe it was just a really off night, but I had simply awful food. more

I've been several times in the past few weeks. A great find. Lunches are a great value. Sampler Platter is a must. Very fresh food with excellent garnishes. Just one visit and you'll be hooked. I went to the Le Viet for the first time, ordered a crab soup. What they brought was a bowl with a tiny bit of crab meat and a lot of crab sticks cut in pieces (that's crab meat imitation). When I called for an administrator, and explained that I didn't order imitation of the crab meat, but a soup with real crab meat (as specified on the menu), the administrator took the plate to the backroom, then returned back with it and said ""he says there is a crab meat in there"", and pointed to one tiny piece, floating among shredded & boiled egg parts. Then turned his back to me and went away. Pros: Interior was ok. Cons: Cheating on food quality. Misbehaved low-level service staff. more

Ambiance was nice. A co-worker friend highly recommended this place so much that he offered to take us there. It was delicious.....a little pricy, but good and fresh. more

My co-workers introduce me to Le-Viet and I am very surprised with the turn out after that lunch at this restaurant. The layout of the place is very comfortable. There are lots of rooms between tables and the bar is fair with selected wine and mixed drinks. The greeting and service staffs are very young and friendly. They introduce and recommend the dishes for non-Vietnamese dinners that have not experienced with their traditional strong taste flavors like nuoc-mam (fish sauce) or tuong-ot (red chili-pepper sauce). The appetizers are fresh and tasty, the main courses consist of large amount of food more than we have expected, and they are fast to bring the food to the table. The most surprising is the price for the meal; it is much lower than other places for the same amount of food and services. For the whole course, we are very pleased with out come and my co-workers are happy with their shares. This is the place for us for many months to come, there are lots of dishes we are aiming to try, and the listed prices are not so scary either. Pros: Food and Prices more

Went for the first time a few months ago with friends that live in the area. The Salted Pork robs are soo good we regularly make the drive. The food and service is great and not too expensive at all. Pros: Good food, not expensive. more

First of all I would say I am pretty experienced with Vietnamese food, I ate it most of my life and I like Le Viet. I have dined there several times in the past years and the food has always been excellent. The portions are adequate and the service is good. There is a full bar there and the mixed drinks are tasty, if not a little girly. I recommend their soft shelled crabs and pan- fried calamari. The salt-grass fried tofu is not bad either for you veggies. give it a try, you won't regret it. Pros: good food, adequate prices, ample parking more

I always drove by this place thinking that it would not be good but I stopped by last month and was pleasantly surprised. The food is very authentic, fresh, and made very quick. The prices are a little higher than if you went to chinatown but is worth the time saved if you live near Le Viet. more
