ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS SPOT COMPLETE WITH POOR SERVICE, 10 DOLLAR MIXED DRINKS THAT CONSIST OF 1 SHOT, AND WAIT STAFF THAT DOES NOT ENJOY DOING ITS JOB. LEFT MY CREDIT CARD THERE AFTER ATTEMPTING TO CLOSE OUT MY TAB AND DECIDING THAT AFTER HAVING WAITED FOR 40 MINUTES THAT ID BE BETTER OFF COMING BACK AT A LESS BUSY TIME. I FOUND THAT IN ORDER TO GET MY BELONGINGS BACK I HAD TO ADHERE TO A SCHEDULE PROVIDED BY LE SOUK THAT CONSISTED OF A 3 HOUR WINDOW, SIMILAR TO A CABLE PROVIDER (YET MORE UNRELIABLE). I WAS PROVIDED WITH SAID 3 HOUR WINDOW 1 DAY EXCEPT I WAS TOLD 2 DIFFERENT TIME FRAMES BY THE IMPECCABLE STAFF. IN ORDER TO AVOID UTTER INCOMPETENCE I CALLED AGAIN IN THE AFTERNOON AND RECEIVED CONFIRMATION THAT I COULD IN FACT RETRIEVE MY PERSONAL BELONGINGS BETWEEN 3PM AND 6PM. SHOWED UP AT 330PM AND WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 5PM. SHOWED UP AT 5PM ONLY TO BE TOLD 6 PM. 630 FINALLY ROLLED AROUND AND AFTER ARGUING WITH THE STAFF I WALKED AWAY WITH MY THINGS. SHAME ON ME FOR TRUSTING SUCH AN ""UPSCALE ESTABLISHMENT"" TO CATER TO ITS CLIENTELLE. TO MAKE THIS INCREDIBLY LONG STORY SHORT...ID RATHER CAMP OUT IN JERRY SANDUSKYS BASEMENT DURING A WEEK LONG POWER OUTAGE THAN GO BACK TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. SAVE YOURSELVES THE HEADACHE AND AVOID AT ALL COSTS. more

We had an amazing night here, would definitely recommend it. It was a Thursday and we went around 9 pm for dinner. We shared a mezze platter and some different entrees and everything from the couscous to the lamb was spot-on. Sangria was delicious. Finished up with a hookah. We decided to go with the mojito flavor and it definitely didn't disappoint. Very fresh tasting. The music was amped up at that point so we ended up staying for a few more drinks. Great DJ. The place gets really packed and this was the one down-side so I would get there early especially if you want to enjoy dinner before it gets really jammed. more

My friend had her 30th BDay last night at LeSouk. She called ahead and specifically confirmed with management that she and her friends would have a reserved table for the whole night. We ate and drank for about 2.5 hours, got up to go dance and have a few smokes downstairs. Upon returning, we discovered that our tab had been closed out on us, without so much as a warning, and our table had been given to another party. To make matters worse, when we tried to resolve the situation and explain that we never closed our tab out and explain that we were shocked that our table had been given to another party with no explanation, one of the managers looked at us like we were crazy, and then called security on us. What a joke! If you ever have a bday here, be very vigilent or else you will unexpectedly have your tab closed and will be herded away from the table that your reserved, even if you were promised that you'd have the table for the whole night. TO management of LeSouk: Terrible way to do business! Someday, you're gonna do this to the wrong motherf'er and he's gonna run you out of business. Just a matter of time, you f'ing losers! more

The title of this review says it all, but I could go on for days about how terrible this place is. When we first got there on a recent, slow Saturday night the first thing we found odd was that someone at the table next to us incorrectly ordered a bottle of the wrong water and the waiter claimed he couldn't take it back. It didn't even appear to be open which made it even more perplexing. We then tried to take a look at the menu, but it was too dark in the restaurant to see them without holding a candle directly underneath them. Next, if you go to this place and your waiter slightly resembles a younger version of Matthew Modine, please take my advice and just leave. Not that the rest of the staff was much better, he was by far the worst waiter I have ever had in my life. After sitting there for about 15 minutes (on a super slow night) while he was just standing there up against the wall, he stumbled over and asked, "Would you like something?" Although annoying, we proceeded to order our drinks/courses. After he delivered the bottle of white wine which he just sat on our table without an ice bucket or anything, we didn't see him until we asked for the bill. With no one there, our appetizers and entrees still took forever. When we finally got the food, everything was extremely disappointing. The appetizers were tiny even though they were mostly veggie based and a normal person would have to order about 4 apps each to be satisfied. For the entree I ordered one of their tajines and it was even smaller and more disappointing than our apps. There were 2 small pieces of meat mixed with one olive and one small piece of dried fruit (the 2 things that give this dish taste). If this dish didn't include rice, it literally could have been consumed in 3 bites. My wife's dish was the same in terms of size and flavor. I would guess that the preparation cost of the entire meal was at most 50 cents. We both consumed our mini, miserable meal in about 3 minutes and sat unattended, with empty dishes on our table for at least 30 minutes. A manager looking guy walked by a few times and appeared concerned and aware that we were being ignored, but he still didn't do anything. Finally, our waiter removed himself from the wall and we got our check. On our way out we complained to the also inept manager who was struggling to multi task and he was even more useless than the other staff. We left angry and went around the corner for burgers. Le Souk sucks!!! more

I have never before written a negative review of a business, but that's because I've never been to a restaurant this bad! We were there with a large party, spending a lot of money, and you could not pay me to go back. The food was disgusting to the point where I could not get the taste out of my mouth for the rest of the night and I barely ate anything! Even the couscous was bad. How do you screw up couscous?? The only edible thing was the bread. Even the white wine was warm! To top it off, the service was terrible. They kept screwing up our orders and the waiter kept picking up people glasses by the rim! Hello, hospitality 101: you don't put your fingers on the part of the glass that touches the customer's mouth! I mean, WTF, can't they get anything right at this place?! I was slightly skeptical based on 1) several negative reviews, and 2) the pictures of the place. They should really consider updating the pictures on the website to show the actual length/depth of the place! It's huge, and well designed. It has three levels, the first two appears to be smaller bars, and the third floor is the massive lounge. As if I haven't said it enough, the hookah, at least the Rose flavor, was great. The accompanying tea was good to. I only have a slight issue with the price: the hookah was something like $25, and apparently ordering four rounds of tea, plus tip adds up to something like $50, before the 8% tip. This price isn't actually unreasonable, but I was slightly surprised. Having said that, it was DEFINITELY worth it , and I'll be back. The worst place after changing location, old was the best. I had gone for friday night, expecting nice food, music and hukkah everything was just so disgousting. I would not even recommend to my enemy. They have i guess poorest bar tender who fight for money, and oblige you by serving your drink, drink that you pay $15 for...well if you planinng there good luck but I m done with this piece of junk... The new Le Souk in the West Village by far surpasses any other hookah joint in NYC. The decor is elegant, with VIP rooms for parties. The food was authentic with a French Moroccan flair. And the belly dance entertainment was awesome! We were there on a Friday night and there was a female belly dancer named Sira and a male belly dancer that followed her named Tarik. Both of them were professional, artistic, and fun. And I've seen a TON of belly dancers before. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone I know. more

We went here on Saturday night to celebrate a friend's upcoming wedding and the service could not have been worse. Le Seok fails miserably to accomodate even the smallest and easiest of tasks from adding an extra chair to serving a drink that is less than half full or half full of water. My spouse and I decided to check this place out - we were looking for a new experience. We both enjoyed it very much! The food is good, the portions are a little on the small side but very tasty. Neither one of us left hungry though, so we can't complain. The prices are reasonable and the entertainment is fun to watch - belly dancers perform periodically and the entire room cheers on those brave enough to get up and dance with them. My husband took me to this place this past weekend and we had a wonderful time! The food was delicious! We started with zaatar bread and labne, followed with a tatsy lentil soup, tabouleh salad and grilled prawns, followed by the main course (we chose the seafood pastilla) and finally ending with a delicious poached quince pastry and traditional mint tea. The belly dancing was brief but enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed the comfortable couches we were sitting on, the dimly lit lanterns as well as the charming Moroccan staff. We had a party here last Friday for bottle service and could not have been happier! We were seated in the elevated loft area overlooking the dance floor. The DJ was spinning the most amazing tracks and there were two beautiful belly dancers performing. As for the service-- our two waitresses were attentive and very hospitable... they were constantly anticipating our needs and really made us feel at home. This is a rarity in the New York City club scene. Lilia hooked us up with some sinfully delicious Sangria hookahs (with fresh fruit and red wine in the bottom instead of water) ... definately one of the best I've ever smoked hands down! I cant speak for anyone else's experience here, but I do know that my friends and I will be undoubtedly be back many more nights to come and I highly recommend this venue to everyone Pros: Amazing drinks, great service, Sexy people, awesome music! more
