Despite the fact that this place is located in a shopping mall food court in Santa Monica, I gave this place a try. The carrot and red velvet are delicious!! They are definitely more moist than Sprinkles, and tasted fresh. On the other hand, I would stick to Sprinkles if you like their chocolate or strawberry-The chocolate here was dry and crumbly, and the strawberry is too strawberry (reminds me of the nestle strawberry milk powder as a kid). I think this place is definitely on par with sprinkles, cupcakes look a little cuter, and their prices are better ($2.75 each), but it's located in a food court in Santa Monica Place (not so appealing, but free parking)...Definitely worth trying if you like cupcakes. I surprisingly came across this adorable cupcake stand while I was perusing through Santa Monica Place. It seemed eerily similar to SPrinkles, which I thought was highly overrated the first time I tried it. I ordered the red velvet with the cream cheese icing (the only flavor I EVEr get, because I know I can't bake it myself), and it was pretty delicious. I guess it had to do with the fact that the batch I chose from was straight from the oven unlike the Sprinkles cupcake I ate which seemed to have been sitting in the glass display for hours.... So I guess, next time you visit a cupcake joint, you just have to be lucky with timing more than anything. more

Le Cupcake is kind of like a Sprinkles wanna-be: they have almost the exact same flavors (red velvet, chai tea latte, peanut butter, carrot), same cute decorating, and even an eerily similar website (i think even the FONT is the same as sprinkles!). While the cupcakes are good, they are a little too sweet and flake easily, and are definitely not as delicious as Sprinkles. Additionally, the stand is in a gross, overcrowded food court that always reeks of grease, meat, and homeless people. If you're around 3rd Street and craving a cupcake, get a few here (TO GO!), but if possible, try to get to Sprinkles or a real bakery. I am a cupcake fanatic! I had the opportunity to taste Le Cupcake's wonderful cupcakes. I had the red velvet(to die for) and the vanilla. Truly amazing! I highly recommend the red velvet cupcake.
