Unreliable & Overcharges via hidden fees 2/20/2012

I had a very bad experience with Mr. Williams. Summary below: 1. Sometimes Mr. Williams would make mistakes in the legal papers filed in the court. 2. Mr. Williams may not be able to present the case in front of the judge properly and may make numerous mistakes. 3. Sometimes it is difficult to get hold of Mr. Williams 4. Mr. Williams would do all the little things, like serving the other lawyer, submitting papers in the court by himself that can take anywhere between 1 to 5 hours every time and that equals to more than $500 of your own money every time! All of this can be done just for <~$50 using a courier service, or you can do it yourself to save thousands of dollars. He doesn't use any paralegals to this work which can be done cheaply. Once I had to pay more than $1000 just for him to serve the papers in the court, and it just happened to take a long time at the court. It was unbelievable. While Mr. Williams’s per hour fees seems reasonable initially, it adds up significantly as he does all the small-small things himself instead of doing them in a cost effective manner in a way that saves him time and saves you money. 5. Mr. Williams is many times unable to frame a counter response in preparation for a court hearing. Most of the time I had to prepare the responses and Mr. Williams would charge me thousands of dollars for editing them - which would mainly be just formatting and few sentences with legal language. 6. When deadlines are approaching for court hearings, Mr. Williams many times may not keep you posted on the progress. You will need to follow-up with him and when he does not respond and the day is like tomorrow, you get extremely stressed. 7. I did not find him organized. He may wait until the deadline is just 2-3 days away to start working on the case. And that doesn’t give you or anyone enough time to review the papers and there may be a lot of errors. And in some cases just this experience with Mr. Williams himself may be more stressful than the whole divorce itself put together. more
