Awful, cold beef, simply terrible 9/22/2010

My wife and son and I went this evening and this was our second time there. I thought I would give this place a second chance. Our first visit was subpar at best. I ordered the Rancho Special and my wife had the Fried Avacado dinner. My dish was cold and the beef fajitas were cold. The flauta was hot on the outside but the beef inside did not match the heat of the crispy tortilla. Odd. The tacos al carbon was horrendous. The meat was cold..terrible. I tasted my wifes tortilla soup and it was bland. I also tasted her fried avacado and it was ok. I'll never be back. My wife thought i was complaining but after reading other reviews looks like I am not alone. more

Disgusting & HORRIBLE Service 6/17/2010

My husband and I have been trying to find a good Mexican restaurant in this area, and sadly, this was NOT the place. To start, I called the restaurant to place a take-out order and ordered two Combo #3's, one with a chicken enchilada and the other with a beef enchilada. I also ordered chips and guacamole. When my husband returned home with the order, we found only one meal inside - and it was grossly unappealing. (I attached a picture of the untouched meal in the photo section above). There was a soggy taco (so soggy that the shell wouldn't break - only tear), a small slop of rice & beans, and a beef enchilada with beef that was ground so fine it looked like wet dog food (and didn't taste much better, frankly). The side of ""guacamole"" was MAYBE a quarter to a half of an avocado, diced up and semi-mashed, with no tomatoes, onions or anything, and spread over a huge mound of shredded lettuce - not so tasty and barely enough for the small bag of about 11 chips included with the guac. After discovering the missing meal, I called Las Lomas back, and told the same woman I spoke with before that we were missing a meal. I asked that the other meal be delivered, since my husband already drove out to pick up the order. The woman proceeded to argue with me, telling me I only ordered one meal. I basically repeated our original conversation to her verbatim, hoping to jog her memory, but she wouldn't budge. I finally asked for the manager, and she put me on hold for no less than 10 minutes, while I could hear her chatting with someone in the background, until she finally got back on the phone. At that point, she relented (without ever handing me over to a manager) and agreed to have the other meal delivered. I had to repeat what Combo # it was THREE times before she got it right, and she spoke perfect English, so there should have been no communication problem! She then took down the wrong credit card number and had to call me back a few minutes later to get me to repeat it. They didn't even offer to comp the remainder of the meal. So, in sum, we spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get a simple meal, and what we ended up getting was NOT good. The cherry on top of all this was that my husband and I both woke up sick in the middle of the night, indicating the food was bad on multiple levels. Ugh, I will definitely not be back to this place! Pros: Not a single one. Fine, one - they deliver. Cons: Crazy-horrible service and nasty food. more

Good Food for the most part 8/9/2009

Food was good as nothing was raw and the taste was good. Sometimes the waiter gets round up with alot of customers at one time so it may take awhile to get the waiters attention. Try to Come on the weekdays because its very loud, with the live music. This is a very good place to chat with friends and eat on weekdays. Pros: Food, Friendly Service Cons: Slow on orders, loud on weekends more

Most Terrible Awful Mexican Food 2/12/2009

This location is on FM 1960 and Perry Road - the most terrible food EVER!!!!\r I was there 2/11/2009 after 5pm. The food came and the smell of old shrimp entered my nose. I think the shrimp was left over from Ike. It fell apart in my hands like a saw dust. The bean soup had three beans in it and the rest was just thin liquid without any taste. When I said to the waiter that the shrimp was old, he just grinned and said - no speak english. Manager was no where to be found. I paid my bill regardless and NEVER going back there again. Stay away if you don't want to get ill from BAD, OLD food!!!! Cons: Terrible food and terrible service more

Good food. Too noisy. Had to wait for ever for our check. 3/31/2007

The food was actually pretty good. The service and the atmosphere were terrible. We had to wait almost 30 minutes for our check, and there is nothing worse than having to wait to pay for a long time once you are through eating. All the while, we had to listen to ultra loud music where we couldn't even hear each other talk. We would go there again if we knew the service would be better and we wouldn't get ear damage from the music. Pros: Good Mexican food. Cons: Slow service. Very noisy environment. more

The worst mexican restaurant ever!!! 8/4/2005

The first time I went there the food, service was bad and there was a band and the music was so loud, it made my teeth hurt. So the second time, was on a rainy quite afternoon and my sister said that it was really good so I agreed to give them a second chance. Big mistake. My sister and I ordered the beef enchiladas, when the server brought our food, the beef in the enchiladas was raw. Reported the problem to the server with no apology she took the plates and came back with them in a few minutes. She had microwaved the plates and set them back down in front of us...again silence. The beef was still raw. It was then, that we walked out. Awful, awful, awful. Pros: nothing, nothing, nothing Cons: everything, everything, everything more
