I also notice that they allow the $30.00 dollar tickets to be purchased by the scumy ticket gouging companies which generally in turn double the cost . Let me preface this by saying I have been dying to attend something at La Zona Rosa for a very long time. When the Gruene with Envy awards came up, I bought tickets right away. Things I learned AFTER getting there: 1. You can't go in and out. Meaning if your event lasts for 8 hours... and you get there at the start, you have to stay there for 8 hours. If you want your money's worth. 2. There is no food. That means 8 hours without food. While drinking. Does this sound like trouble to anyone else? So the local pizza hut and gattis get all the business and people have to stand outside and scarf down their food. 3. No seating. When a spot on the stairs opened up, we rushed for it. There was abs no seating FOR 8 HOURS available anywhere. 4. Expensive: $30 isnt exp for a big country concert... but since they give no indication of what is really going to happen (4 hours of acoustic BORINGNESS), then we paid $30 for those 4 hours and had to leave because we were starving and our feet were hurting as a result of no chairs... 5. Need better information. No idea who was up on the stage. Unless you are totally immersed in the texas country music scene, you dont know who is playing. When they are playing. And what they are playing This was the WORST $30 I've ever spent. Had they simply set expectations better, disseminated information, perhaps it would have been acceptable. Not letting people in and out for an 8 hour event? Maybe if you're underage, they can put the lockdown on so you cant go drink beer. But a 27 year old adult? Seems highly ridiculous. I will try to avoid La Zona Rosa in the future and I suggest you do too. Pros: venue isnt terrible Cons: price, no seating, no food, no "ins and outs", no information more

First of all, wanted to thank all the folks who posted about this place before me and I could tell you that all is true...Me and my mom arrived at the BIG HEAD TODD AND THE MONSTERS concert so earlier (1.15 hours earlier) and few minutes later, ppl was on line behind us...when the doors opened, I ran to get the front view (and got it), we stand there, but we felt no so much, because were standing over the "stage"...Ppl were so nice with me BUT...about the policies and stuff: I read about the venue policies and didnt bring any cameras: and realise that Big Head Todd allowed cameras and camcorders (damn! and with my camera in Mexico)...So, you guys could update this kind of stuff (policies) to say: BY ARTIST REQUEST or something...That concert was the best concerts that ever attended...But the place is nice, though.... more

I saw Willie Nelson play here and also Joe Ely. They get great acts and they have pretty good food, also. If you're going for a concert, show up early!!! more

I bought tickets for Susan Tedeschi. Just found out there is no seating. URGHHHH Disregard my other ratings, I had to enter them to get where I could put in this comment. more

I attended a show at La Zona Rosa recently and really enjoyed it. The only con was the terrible service at the bar. There were not many people drinking and there was no line at the bar. After paying $4 for a can of beer set next to a plastic cup, I poured my own beer and was directed to get my own lime from behind the bar. At the end of the night I closed my small tab and exited, only to be chased down by a female bar tender demanding a tip. After a brief argument I gave her a five to get her off my back. Since when does handing some one a cup and can earn a tip? more

I like the shows that come through La Zona a lot. I found that when it's crowded, it can be a little hard to get around--or in very crowded conditions, see the stage. The accoustics sounds good, so whoever you see will most likely sound good. One problem I have with La Zona is that it's downtown, bat a little out of the way. Plan to walk if you want to go somewhere else before or after the show. And, plan on standing during the show. more

La Zona Rosa's schedule is usually pretty tame (fair to moderately popular pop and rock acts). But, the large open space makes for comfortable breathing room. You don't have to worry about being crushed in the crowd here. more

La Zona Rosa maintains its viability in the music scene by booking great up-and-coming acts of all genres. The stage could be a foot higher for better viewing though. more
