Such a talented stylist 3/5/2013

This was my first time visiting the salon (i was referred by a friend). I was a little skeptical because Candance seemed so young, but was quickly proven wrong. Not only was she incredibly friendly but she truly listened to what I wanted. I have extremely long hair and wasnt ready to part with it. She trimmed the ends and gave me lots of layers and I have NEVER loved my hair more. I now have a stylist I cant live without. more

Every salon I have been to in the pas,t I was forced to seen a different girl for cut and color. Candace does both. She is so professional and always up to date on the newest trend. I love my girl! more

Lumara is the best! All of the girls and staff are wonderful! I love how Maria cuts my hair and colors my hair! She is amazing as well as Erika for color and Candice for the amazing Brazillian blowout! more

Best Prom Hair! 2/1/2013

I love Maria she always cuts/styles my hair. She has done my hair for 3 proms already and will be doing my hair for my senior prom this june, I already have my appointment! All the girls are so nice and the salon is so pretty. I can't imagine going any where else! Love them! I have an appointment today for a hair cut! more

Candace's updo's are simply beautiful 9/7/2012

I had candace come to my house for my bridal party a few weeks ago and I have never been happier with a up-style. The style looked picture perfect from morning till evening without me having to fix it thru the day. I can also say the same for the other girls in my bridal party. Her work is one of a kind and she is so professional from start to finish. more

I have been getting a haircut from Kelly for about five years now. I went through about 10 hairdressers in the neighborhood who did not seem to understand the term layering. I have very thick, wavy hair and Kelly seemed to know exactly what my hair needed. I actually get compliments and have referred several people to her. more

horrible 11/4/2011

I went to Maria for highlights and lowlights. She did thick dark brown stripes on my blonde hair. When I tried to get her fixed it she said it was what I wanted and that it couldn't be fixed. She tried to put something on to lighten it but it still looks really bad. She charged me to try to fix it and I still hate it!! She never said she was sorry that I wasn't happy and said if I wait a couple of weeks it should look better. My hair looks horrible. Don't go there, they don't care if you are happy or not. more

They do whatever they want 11/26/2010

Went to Maria a few weeks ago, asked for just a shaping nothing drastic - as she was cutting I started to see huge chunks of hair just dropping to the floor I told her that was too much and she swore I would still have my length, well I didn't when she was done massacring it. What was long hair that used to fall down my back now is a chunky mess that falls at my shoulders. I never expect perfection b/c I know everyones hair is different, but it doesn't take a genius to cut hair so taking off about 6 inches during a shaping job is pretty frightening. I do not know if a mistake was made and she was trying to cover it up - but almost a month later my hair still looks horrible and I do not expect it to look better for at least a year when it will grow out and I can have it shaped at a salon where they know what they are doing. more

LOVED MY HAIR! 5/3/2010

I WENT TO ERIKA FOR AN UPDO FOR MY WEDDING AND IT WAS AMAZING! SHE LISTENED TO WHAT I WANTED AND IT CAME OUT BETTER THEN I COULD HAVE EVER IMAGINED!! I LATER FOUND OUT SHE WAS ALSO A COLORIST.. SO SO SO AMAZING. VERY FRIENDLY OUTGOING AND AWESOME! HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER! more

The best salon around LI 9/2/2009

I have been going to Maria since before she became Lumara and now that she opened the salon I love my hair even more. I moved to FL 4 years ago and still come up to get my hair done every few months. I have had almost all of their services and cant complain at all. They are always booked but thats what happens with a good salon. If Maria the owner can not assist you she will give you the very next best. more

The new girl is amazing!!!!! 6/16/2009

I just left lumara salon and not only was i impressed with how nice the place was, the results of my hair were amazing. I told candice that i wanted very natural looking highlights and i left with just that "sun kissed" look. She was also so friendly and welcoming. I will be back soon to see her. more

THE OWNER IS UNPROFESSIONAL 12/1/2008

The owner triple books herself and is always rushing leaving the client feeling not taken care of. She yells at her employees in front of the clients which is completely unprofessional. I know when I go somewhere to get my hair done - I want to feel pampered and taken care of. Again, this is not a free service. Also, I don't want to hear the owner yelling at someone in front of me. Would never go back more

Spiral Perm 6/24/2008

I went to get my hair permed - I do this every year - the last time my hair got fried so I went to Lumara and was so very impressed - they (Maryann) evaluated my hair first then set the appropriate amount of time to do my hair. I was so impressed I sent my daughter there for a completely new hair style, Kelly was amazing with her and she loves the hair cut that now I am going to cut off all my hair also.... more

For the last eight years Maria has been doing my hair. Now I don't even tell her what to do. She colors and cuts my hair. When its all done I am always happy! The place is beautiful and the people are friendly. Thanks to Maria my hair ALWAYS looks great! more

What a great salon LUMARA is! 4/12/2007

I just went to get my hair done at LUMARA. I had gone to all different places to get blonde highlights but they always came out a yellow-gold which I didn't like. I was soooo nervous to try a new place, yet again. As soon as I went into Lumara, I could see that it was very clean and that they used good professional products. I was offered a free consultation with Jen for highlights. She seemed to know exactly what I wanted. I went for highlights two weeks later and they came out amazing! I also had my hair cut by the manager Denise who was so nice and helpful. She gave me a great haircut too. The workers at Luumara are very nice and listen to what you want and actually do what you want. I would reccommend this place to anyone. I will certainly be returning here. more

A beautiful place 10/27/2005

I just got my hair highlighted last night a Lumara, and I was very impressed. It is a brand new salon, the decor is really nice, and the staff is friendly as well. It's easy to find, and their is parking in the back as well as a back entrance. They offer manicures and pedicures as well as other spa services. I will be going back there again, the next time I will get a haircut. I am pretty picky about my hair and I was very pleased. more
