I was transferred to San Francisco with my company for a 3-year assignment and made the mistake of renting a house in Marin that was managed by nasty ladies at L&L. What a horrible experience! I found out early that overpaid for the dumpy house in Mill Valley and also had to provide an $8000 deposit (which is not the norm in Marin.) Whenever there was a repair that needed to be done, L&L first dragged their feet on getting a handy man to make a visit, and then tried to blame/charge us for any repairs (i.e., "maybe your junior high aged kids are flushing their toys down the toilet" - ridiculous!) This happened over and over again to the point that I had to ask every service person to document their assessments and work. When I moved out last month, we paid professionals to clean the place, but the ethically-challenged ladies at L&L skimmed $400 off my deposit claiming redundant cleaning charges and other fraudulent and undocumented deductions. Now I have to fly back up from LA to sue them in Marin small claims court. What a big headache! If you're a prospective tenant in Marin, stay away from L&L properties. If you're a landlord using L&L as your property management company, they're probably screwing you too! My advice to both......stay away!!!
