I Still Like to Get Groceries at a Grocery Store 10/30/2006

With the big superstores coming to town like Wal-Mart it is so temping to go there for everything. I did at first but the place is so big and so crowded I got frustrated and went back to my regular grocery store. I have a couple I go to but the local Kroger is my favorite http://www.kroger.com/homepage/index.htm , The saying around our area is "if it ain't at Kroger they don't make it". They seem to get new products sooner and they keep their shelves stocked better than most stores. They are also opened 24 hrs so when I was working and got off at midnight I could run by Kroger and pick up groceries in a flash. I live in a small town and going to the store at midnight is still relatively safe. Wal-Mart is just up the road and is also opened 24 hrs, but it is crowded all the time. Also I have notice since Wal-Mart Super Store came to town everyone seems to shop for groceries there. Now we have lost 2 major grocery chains from our town. All that's left is Kroger and Bi-Lo. I'm afraid they will go too if we don't support them. Kroger seems to have the best sales also. They have a lot of buy one get one free, but the big one is when they have certain items on sale for buy 10 for $10 and it is usually stuff you use not just things they are trying to get off the shelf. more

Editorial
  • The Kroger Co. was founded in 1883 Ohio, by Bernard Henry Kroger. Since then the chain has expanded throughout much of the Southeast, acquiring several other grocery brands. Today, Kroger stores offer a wide variety of items, ranging from fruits, vegetables and meats to dairy, fresh-baked goods, housewares, beer and wine, books, magazines and flowers. Most locations also have a pharmacy and photo lab.
