I probably have 8 suits (plus a wonderful overcoat) made by St. Laurie, and I keep coming back because of the extremely high level of service, excellent quality, fair pricing and Andy's ability to work with me to achieve the slightly 'vintage' look (in terms of fabric and cut) that I want. St. Laurie's traditions as a 3rd generation family business plus its extensive theatrical and film work give them tremendous expertise and historical perspective in the art of tailoring quality mensware. The selection of fabrics is first-rate, the ambiance is authentic NY garment-district, but warm and upscale. Time is taken on fabric choice, and in discussing various options to get the exact look one wants. Andy and Renne tell you frankly what they think and recommend, but they never try to push their preferences over the clients. Appointments are honored meticulously, and I have never felt rushed or had to wait more than a minute or two. The few minor issues I have had (couple of buttons that came loose prematurely) were immediately taken care of by Andy and Renne. I highly recommend St. Laurie. New York needs more places like this. more

I have used several custom tailors in NYC and Saint Laurie is my favorite for several reasons. First, the clothes. Andy, Jakob and Renne know how they are supposed to look and know how to make you look good in them. They often will insist on additional small changes even if the clothes look fine to the customer. Second, they have an excellent selection of fabrics, and if they don't have what you are looking for, they will find it. Third, the service at Saint Laurie is impeccable. They schedule appointments so that you and only you are receiving their attention. They answer all questions promptly and accurately. Nice people. Good product. Fair prices. What I like about the place is that they have different styles--not everyhting looks the same. They don't try to shove a style down your throat and they have options. And the clothing looks really, really good. They fit me dead on and I'm not the easiest fit you ever saw.
