I took my dog for an emergency, they made me wait 2 hours for a doctor, the diagnosis was confused, they don't explain me what was happening and they were in a hurry to charge me the bill which was very expensive $ 700 for the poor care they gave to my dog that finally died. I definitely not recommend this place. more

I’ve seen Dr. Ricco for over 18 years for my cat family, and eventually our 3 dachusnds. She has continually gone beyond to find the information needed to best serve our critter family. She is patient, tolerant, and collaborative, as well as, truly understands what it means to be an advocate for your own family member. She listens and takes into consideration the overall wellbeing of each of our critter family. I am grateful for her depth and compassion during difficult life decisions for some of our aging family members. There is not enough space here to write all the gratitude we have for what she’s given throughout all these years. more

I love the Kingsland Blvd Animal Clinic!! All the doctors treated my cat and I like we were the most important patients of the day. I really appreciate the doctor coming in and literally sitting down with me to talk about my cat's check up! Everyone that works here is so, so sweet! I wouldn't take my loved animals anywhere else!\r more

I recently moved to the Katy area and needed to find a place for my puppy. He is the only family I have in Texas so I googled until I found a place worthy enough for him (as you can tell I'm picky). When I looked online for reviews, Kingsland was highly recommended. I thought ""ok I'll give them a try."" They are awesome! I was in and out and the vet continuously gave my dog treats (which he sure did enjoy!). This will definitely be my vet of choice for all of my dogs needs! more

Great visit! We recently rescued our dog and I was looking online for a good clinic. Our first visit was fast and friendly. We saw the doctor who was really personable and informative. He was great with my Shih Tzu and I didn't feel like he was rushing us off like other clinics I've been to do. I've read a lot of negative reviews but you can't always believe everything you read. I can't speak for anyone else but for me, I had a great experience and will for sure be going back. more

I love Kingsland vet. My family has used them for years. They took great care of all my dogs growing up. When my dog died back in high school, Dr. Shows came over to the house and took her away for us. It was so sweet in such a hard moment. Now I am married with a baby and two dogs of my own. I take both of my dogs there and everyone ther is so friendly. A couple years ago, Charlie got really sick and they helped us figure out what was wrong with him. They kept him for a week to monitor him and get down to the route of the problem. Every time I go in there, I am treated with a smile and everyone is always helpful. We have tried most of the doctors over the years and we enjoy them all! I highly recommend Kingsland Animal Clinic. more

My family and I had been searching for an animal clinic for our newly adopted baby Ava, who is a teacup chihuahua. I love the fact that the website was very informative and gave extensive background on each worker at this location. Giving me a little extra reassurance that my pup would be in capable hands . The staff is caring and polite and our first visit was great. Thank you Dr. Toby Shows who was the best and the entire Kingsland Staff, Ava can't wait to see you all again! more

I can't describe all the wonderful things about Kingsland Boulevard Animal Clinic! The staff is always so gracious and genuinely cares about you and your pets. Our dogs especially love Dr. David Buelna. He's great with them, even our chow mix! more

My dog has been coming here since he was a puppy (along with my parents' dog!) and even though I moved an hour away I STILL drive here to take him in because they have such personal care, know him by name, are excellent at what they do, and really love their animals. No other place I've tried gives the personal customer care they do, and my pup loves it! They've taken care of him through several sicknesses and loved on him like their own... I'll be coming here forever! more

Not happy with them at all my wife looked them up on line to check if they were 24hrs. I needed emergency care since my dog got a hold of ant poison, instead of teliing us to go straight to a 24 hour facility they took us in with 30 minutes till closing then charged me 260 dollars n told me that I would need to go to the 24 hour location, n made me sign a paper saying that I was refusing to take my dog there. I ended up paying about 800 dollars in total I could've saved about 350 dollars if they would've been honest with me n say hey just go straight over o the critical care instead of coming here since we close at 12 . Thankfully my dog phoenix made it until we got to the other place but I will never go to this place again more

I LOVE THIS CLINIC. They are so thorough and thoughtful. They know exactly what to do when I come in with one of my pets. While waiting on test results, my pet was put on antibiotics, which helped shorten my pets (symptoms) illness. Thank you, Thank you more

My dog needed a small growth removed from her face. No vet speaks to me when I pick her up only a vet tech. The vet tech says only that ""if she scratches her face a lot, you'll have to get a ""cone"" head protector."" Within 2 hours of being home, she scratches ONCE & her face is bleeding horribly. We have to take her all the way back & then they LIE & say I REFUSED a head cone. They expect us to pay for them to fix her again & now she'll need follow up care--which they also expect us to pay for. Only after throwing a fit, do we get the charges somewhat reduced. I've had pets all my life & have never had an experience like this. Do NOT take your pets here more

Deplorable! 3/8/2011

The only thing this institution seems to have a grasp on is swiping your credit card, asking you for your signature and employing an elaborate but otherwise useless website. Now what you can expect is total disregard for the well being of your pets. After adopting a pet from a friend, whose primary veterinarian was at Kingsland Blvd. Animal Clinic, I decided to continue his care with them. The first sign of trouble began when I set up his online vaccination records, and future appointments. After receiving post cards and email alerts for up coming vaccinations, I instructed my brother to take my dog to get his shots and heart worm prevention medication. After returning he informs me that the veterinarians did not mention my dog's need for a vaccination, although according to his health record, email alert, and postcard all indicated otherwise. Needless to say we had to make another trip to clinic to get his vaccinations done. On a separate occasion, we took our dog to the clinic for a check-up because he had been retching, not eating and lost a bit of weight, while there I'm told that they have incorrectly scribed his test results and he indeed has had heart worms for some time (before we adopted him). All this was told to me not by my vet, but a vet technician who continued to say, ""Yes, this is strange, it seems that we wrote down he was negative, but he tested positive."" DUH!!! While she was stating the obvious I was waiting for an apology from the vet and/or the vet tech for the enraging mistake, which I received from neither. I did not even see the veterinarian for the duration of the appointment, I did however get to speak with the very knowledgeable vet tech whose inane hypotheses knew no end. From these, let's face it, utterly stupid mistakes, I have to pose the question: Do they even read our pet's health records or do they just glance at them while totaling up our bill? Needless to say I am changing my veterinarians and hope no one else and their pet is ever subject to this complete lack of intelligence, competence, and disregard for the Veterinarian's Oath. more

The Greatest Doctors 1/25/2011

Kingsland has the most wonderful, compassionate vets that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I know it's unorthodox (and sometimes frowned upon) for past/current employees to comment on their own business, but I felt compelled to share my experience with the doctors here. Each one of the veterinarians at Kingsland brings something special to this clinic. They are all very knowledgeable and do their best to treat every animal with care and kindness. They treat their employees and fellow staff members with respect and work together well as a team. They are patient and sympathetic with their clients. They are thorough, consistent, and very thoughtful in everything they do. They have saved the life of one of my dogs, and I am confident that they would do it again. The Kingsland vets are truly wonderful people, and they really care about your pets. I don't think you'll ever find a better group of vets anywhere else. more

Best Clinic in Katy 8/29/2010

I have tried out a few clinics in the West Houston area and was unimpressed until I got to Kingsland. This is a wonderful vet, from the receptionists to the technicians to the doctors. They are all very compassionate and obviously work very hard. Out of all the doctors there, I have seen Dr. Obergfell and Dr. Smoot the most and really like them and respect their opinions and advice. I was at the clinic several weeks ago when a seizuring dog came in and was very impressed by how quickly the staff responded to the animal's needs. The only downside would be the wait time - sometimes it is excessive but it's understandable considering all of the people who come here and the emergencies they take in. I also think that management needs to hire more receptionists up front. I have felt really bad for those girls on a few occasions when they get really busy, I honestly don't know how they handle it and keep their cool. It looks like a really stressful job sometimes. Overall, I highly recommend this vet - they are affordable, the facilities are immaculate, the staff is exceptional, and the doctors are some of the best out there. more

WONDERFUL VET 8/19/2010

This clinic always treats emergencies with the utmost dignity, respect, and hurried timing (unlike the last review states). They all care about each and every animal that comes in the door, and, although the wait time can be a little longer there, it is well worth the wait to see their amazing staff. I recommend them highly to everyone I can! more

WORST OFFICE DESK STAFF - AWFUL AWFUL 7/26/2010

You will always wait here!! My dog was dying!!! and emergency!! and I was told to wait till the vets finished their appts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLO my dog is Dying You will also wait if you have an appointmt (every time) or if you are simply picking up a RX you called in the day before!!!! I sat their for 30 min. waiting for those girls to stop endlessly staring into the computer screen and get up off their seats and get my prescription!!! They don't even acknowledge or greet you when you come in!! RUDE VETS NEED TO GET NEW STAFF NOW OR CUSTOMERS WILL RUN RUN RUN TO A NEW CLINIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Pros: DR. Good Experience 9/11/2008

When I lived in Katy, I had a good experience with this veternary practice.\r \r When my Pomeranian had a broken leg, we brought her here to chance her cast every so often. (Sometimes her cast would fall off, though.) Sometimes her cast change was free and her bandages were in different colors for each change.\r \r One time I brought my Pomeranian for a patellar luxation. She had difficulty walking and they recommended surgery. \r \r We didn't do the surgery because it was expensive and we could not afford it. The vet said that if we didn't do the surgery, she would have arthritis when she grew up.\r \r However, the vet was good in explaining patellar luxation and alleviating our fears. The vet did something with her leg (like popped a bone or something) and Angel could walk again. I was very thankful.\r \r Pros: Good vets. Cons: Can't think of any. more

SUPERB SERVICE!!!! 6/6/2008

Regardless of what the other moron on here says, I know for a fact that kingsland blvd. animal clinic is a VERY VERY VERY GOOD clinic. My cat had a virus while I was visiting my girlfriend in Austin, so I took my cat to two different clinics in Austin... BOTH of which were extremely crude in the way they dealt with my cat. At one place, the doctor tried to draw bl00d from my cat, and had to stick him 6 times before hitting the vein.. they were very expensive and said there was NO WAY TO TREAT HIM. So I drove from Austin, back here to Katy just to go to this clinic. They identified the problem, and had him treated and back on his feet in a matter of 1 week. Not only were they VERY helpful when it came to finances, but they were VERY professional and VERY good at what they do. ----> I highly recommend this clinic, but more specifically, ask for your appointment to be scheduled with Dr. Smoot... Dr. Smoot, will NOT have you buy anything you dont need, also she is VERY VERY good at what she does, and is a very kind person and is the ONLY ONLY vet I will EVER allow my animals to be treated by in the future. GO TO THESE PEOPLE!! If it isn't an emergency, Ask for Dr. Smoot!! Good luck! Pros: Dr. Smoot.. very good doctor. Work with you on payment. Cons: There aren't enough Dr. Smoot's. more
