Keys Kritters

Keys Kritters is one of the best places ever for pets. They have a bigger selection of product than the pet superstores and most of it seems to cost less too. I have shopped here for more than 10 years and they are great people. The employees are keys characters but a lot of fun and really friendly. I think some of the people that commented probably do not live here and do not know how great they really are to have. Thanks to Keys Kritters. more

I can only hope the day I walked in here was the day before cleaning day, and if so, they would need at least a day to clean this store. The small animal cages had more feces and spilled food than bedding and were cramped full of animals. The bird cages looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks--and that's coming from someone who has had birds for years. I know how messy they can be, but this was inexcusable. The baby birds who were being hand fed all had dry crusted baby bird food on their chests/faces. Usually after a baby bird is hand-fed, you would take a warm wet cloth to their face and gently wipe off the uneaten food so it doesn't dry on their feathers and crust onto their skin. Leaving the food stuck to a baby birds skin/feathers can irritate the skin and create an area prone to skin infections. I really wish that at the least they would clean up the babies somewhat after feeding. They had kittens for adoption which I was happy about, except for the fact that the two little kittens were in a cage covered in a mix of spilled food, water and kitty litter. Kittens are understandably messy, but the whole time I was in the store no one noticed the mess they had created or made an attempt to clean it. If a store is going to have this many animals, they should be able to at the very least keep their cages somewhat clean. I hope the management reads this and makes some changes in the cleaning schedule. They do offer some great products, but I could not shop here because I couldnt not support a store that crams too many animals in a cage (mainly the hamsters, guinea pigs and rabbits) and does not clean very often. more

I've been going to this place for many years and have found nothing less than great product selection and a friendly, knowledgable staff. The owner is a great guy who donates time and money to local animal charities and causes. My dog loves going there to get his picture taken with Santa at Christmas! Dad loves the drinks his elves give away while waiting! (all $ raised goes to the local shelter). more

I board my birds there. They love it when I go on vacation because they get to go to Keys Kritters. I have to travel a lot so they are a godsend to be close by. I trust them with my birds. I never worry when they are boarded there. Huge selection of birds and bird food and toys. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly, professional staff. Al the animals are friendly and happy. Pros: Real animal lovers run this store more

Decent parking, nice variety of animals, clean shop. Employees are extremely rude though. We stood in the store for over 30 minutes waiting on someone to help us. Instead the old sea hag stood around, starred at my family and gossiped about us to other customers. My family and I left disappointed and humilated. Never again will we step foot in that store. Their loss! we went to a private dealer and bought 2 beautiful African Grays. Pros: Hard to say anything nice when they are so rude! Cons: Rude!!!! Customer Service $uck$! These guys are the experts on fresh and salt water aquariums. Beautiful tanks!! One thing to note however is that they know very little about reptile care. They have a sign above the bearded dragons which says they are not responsible for animals sold to the public and not cared for properly yada...yada...yada...and the bearded dragons they are selling in the tank below are sickly because of no proper UV-lighting and heat lamps. All they had was a little incandescent bulb fixture. Time to read up on care. Yikes! Pros: Beautiful Aquariums Cons: Neglected other critters more

They always have interesting things, specials, different price point items. It is always wonderful to go talk with the parrots in the back- they are friendly just like the shop keepers. I usually park right in front- plenty of parking. It is just so nice to have them in our back yard of Key Largo! more

when i got my bird from them he had never learned to fly beacause they clipped his wingsthe easy and wrong way. he cant even glide. more
