Toby's Death From Going to Well Groomed 3/16/2011

I was co owner of the French Bulldog that went to Well Groomed for a bath, and was close to death when we picked him up. His tongue was blue when we picked him up and his breathing was like a bellows. He died on the way to the vet. He was examined by the vet, and she said he died of heat stroke. So the lady that has the yorkie's does not know what she is talking about. Kelly was a cold fish, could not care less. I am glad Kellys daycare had to close it's doors as of this month. She should never be in charge of anyone else's beloved pets. We have filed complaints on her with everyone. Bewarre of Well Groomed!!!! Thousands of people responded about Toby, and many called and wrote Kelly, Everyone wants her closed down. We need justice for Toby. more

Kellie's Pampered Pets and Well Groomed 8/19/2010

I have been in dog training and breeding for over 20 years and have heard many stories about issues with pet passing away after vet or groomer visits. Unfortunately the reality is there is no way to be absolutely certain the reason for this occuring. I believe a common theme with many of these deaths are due to breeds that have a low tolorance to stress and have existing issues and their owners may be unaware. It is irresponsible and reckless to blame someone when it is not possible to know both sides the issue. We can all sympathize with someone who lost a beloved family member and I think it is natural instinct to want to place blame. Unfortunate French Bulldogs do have breathing issues and any stress could have contributed to his death. When I read your post you stated you picked him up and he died shortly after..my obvious question is why did you not immediately take him to the Vet...Were you unaware that there was a problem? If a necropsy is done the Vet should have known difinitively the cause of death. I have been to Well Groomed and Kellie's Pampered Pets and the facilities are clean and Kelly and her staff are professionals. I have been to many, many groomers and I found Kelly to be caring and very professional. It is sad that Toby died...my heart breaks for your lose. I can't imagine losing one of my Yorkies. But it is wrong to place blame when there is no proof of wrong doing. It's sad that I continue to see this same post over and over again on so many sights. One would assume forums like this are are for legitimate reviews and not for issues concerning civil matters. It seems your intent is malicious and I hope those who read these reviews keep that in mind. Again....God Bless! more

Trusting, honest, caring 6/25/2010

I have had dogs for many years and they have gone to several groomers. Once I saw the results of Kellie's work I never went anywhere else. The quality of the grooming top of the line. There was also a list of other things that I found impressive: 1) The staff was happy and helpful 2) Kellie is always exhuberant and happy when she talks to the dogs and gets such positive response in return. They adore her. 3) Her expertise is unmatched. She speaks from a professional point of view and relays it in a way that clients understand 4) The facilities are always spotless Kellie truly is passionate about her work and, above all else, passionate about dog breeds of all kinds. She takes great care to ensure dogs who visit her shop are happy, healty and safe. I would trust no other person with my dogs as much as I trust Kellie and her staff. They are the peak of professionalism and caring in this field. I have seen a few nasty rumors regarding Kellie, lately, about the death of a french bulldog after having gone to Kellie's for grooming. It's interesting to me that this person did not immediately go to the vet when they said they clearly saw the dog was having trouble breathing after picking it up from Kellie's. Then they so quickly had this dog cremated. It would seem to me that an autopsy would be of the utmost importance if the allegations were true. Suspicious, to say the least. I have also heard this dog has a history of breathing problems that Kellie repeatedly commented on to the owner, but the owner confirmed they knew about and brushed off as if it wasn't important. Sounds like an owner who doesn't want to believe that they were the one who made the mistake of not properly caring for the dog medically and they have convinced themself that someone else is to blame. The loss of a dog is so incredibly sad and I sympathize greatly with this person's loss. But trying to place blame on an innocent person who cares so deeply for dogs is shameful, inappropriate, and insults the memory of the dog who passed. I hope this person thinks long and hard about the whole situation and their suspicious actions before carrying on like this. People like that are what is wrong with the world now. They can't accept blame, they just want to place blame on others. Public slander is not to be taken lightly. I will never trust a groomer as much as I do Kellie. As the owner of 6 dogs who mean more to me than my own life, that is saying a hell of a lot. They are in trusting, honest and caring hands with Kellie Pros: Caring, professional, clean, and happy Cons: None that I know of more

Kellie's Pampered Pet Inn 6/24/2010

We have taken our pets to Kellie's for the past five years, for boarding, doggie daycare, and grooming. Kellie and her staff treat our pets like family and our dogs walk through her door with tails wagging. Over the years we have witnessed Kellie open her facility to help rescue groups when there was no place else for the dogs to go. She has had numerous pets "dropped off" for boarding only to have the owner never return. Kellie always takes care of those left behind until she finds them a loving home. One of those abandoned was adopted by one of our family members, her boarding cost was in the hundreds of dollars but Kellie would not accept any money for her - her only concern was that she had a safe, loving home (which she does). We appreciate the care and attention Kellie and her wonderful staff Linda, Sonya, Julia, Manny pay to our fur babies. Connie & Jaen Lawrence Pros: caring staff, clean facilites, Cons: none more

Unfinished Grooming of Chow on Saturday. 3/11/2008

My regular groomer no longer accepts larger dogs on Saturdays, including my Chow, so I contacted Kellie's Pampered Pet Inn for grooming. I was told by the Pampered Pet Inn that they could groom my Chow last Saturday, March 8 and that I needed to bring in the dog's vaccination record. On Saturday at 8:00 am I visited my veterinarian, where my Chow named Lion received his Bordetella and I picked up his shot record. My wife and I dropped off Lion just before 9:00 am at Kellie's Pampered Pet Inn. I was told that David would groom our Chow and "Lion" would be ready to be picked up by 4:00 pm. Then we toured the Pampered Pet Inn and inquired about future training and boarding of our three dogs. My wife and I returned to pick up Lion just before 4:00 pm and were told the groomer David had some difficulty with our dog. We were told that they would call us when Lion was ready. We returned to the Pampered Pet Inn at around 5:45 pm, after receiving the phone call. My wife and I picked up our Chow and paid $108 for the grooming. Lion's nails were cut and his head was groomed; Lion's body and tail lacked grooming. The Chow's hair was still very long and his hair was still matted behind his ears; this cut was supposed to last for three months. We have taken our dog Lion to three different groomers in Houston and the grooming done at Kellie's Pampered Pet Inn is the worst. Consequently, Lion needs another grooming now. Pros: avaiable on Saturdays and clean. Cons: returned dog with unfinished grooming. more
