Kansas City Zoo

Where are all the animals? They keep expanding & remodeling the zoo & it does look nice but there aren't many animals anymore. Admission is kinda pricey - $8.50 per adult & the concessions are outrageous. more

The Kansas City Zoo is the local zoo and somewhere to take children. All little kids love going to the zoo even if the only things they see are a couple of elephants and a monkey. The zoo can be fun to walk around on a day of nice weather and if you are looking for exercise there is plenty to be found. I am disappointed with the quality of the Kansas City Zoo. It has been around a long time and they added the Africa section several years ago, but it still doesn't have a very good feel to it. Some parts of the zoo remain run down and it always seems like exhibits are closed for renovation, but then the renvoations don't look like much. Any restaurant or beverage stand purchase that you make will be quite expensive. If you want a true zoo experience, head to Omaha. The zoo there is truly amazing and deifinitely worth the trip. more

This is not a nice zoo. The grounds aren't' kept up very well and it's dirty. They seem to constantly be doing some sort of construction project, so there is always a section of the zoo closed down. You never get to see as many animals as you'd expect. The animals that you do see just make you sorry you came. It doesn't look like they have enough space and their areas aren't kept up. The only food available at the zoo is crap pop stand junk. Most people intend to spend the day here, which would include lunch, so you'd think they could come up with at least once decent place for zoo goers to eat. more

The zoo is a great place to take the family. However, I made the mistake of taking my son for his one year birthday in November and we hardly saw any animals. It was a very cold day and we did not even see polar bears. None of the restaurants were open and the only gift shop that was open was the one at the entrance to the zoo. It was very disappointing for all of us, however, because it was so cold they only charged us half price. more

Who doesn't love to go to the zoo? This is one of our children's favorite places to go visit. They have been here tons of times and still want to go back and see the animals. They have a lot of different animals to check out and they even have a i max theater to see a movie in. But the favorite thing to do every time we go is to ride the train. Great place to bring the kids. more

My children love going to the zoo to see all the animals. It doesn't matter how many times we have been or how many times we look at the same animals, they are always ready to go again. We have a Friends of the Zoo membership, so we can visit the zoo whenever we want and don't have to pay an entrance fee. We also get special privileges and a discount at the store. Right now they have the white tiger on exhibit. There is almost always something going on. You won't be disappointed with our zoo. more

The Kansas City Zoo, is not the zoo we knew as chidren. It is much cleaner, and a better environment for the animals than it was 20 years ago. They have more exhibits, and better viewing areas. It isn't free anymore, but it is still very cheap. You can bring your children and have a great time at the zoo looking at all of the cute little animals. more

The Kansas City Zoo offers a day full of fun and excitement for the whole family Come in the morning and stay all day either bring a sack lunch or eat here at the zoo though it is more expensive than most places. The zoo offers 1000 or more animals to view and many special exhibits that come year round for special events. Take a train ride around the zoo to rest those tired feet and view some of the areas you may not get to visit while your here. The zoo also offers a Imax Theater that you can go to either while your at the zoo or make a trip to come back and only go to the Imax. This really is a great place to bring the family and learn some information on the animals and see many different species of animals all at once. more
