WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! I didn't even wanted to give a single star for this restaurant. It certainly don't deserve it....for many reasons....First, its an Indian restaurant but i guess they like to cater non Indians ONLY...Our visit was totally unwelcoming.....We were like 'non existent' aliens for them...They were approaching all non indians on table for hot naans but took a u-turn right from our table without informing us....the lady out there is carrying ample of attitude for no reason...Soo much of F******** ATTITUDE....Coming to the 2nd point, most important one is taste....there was absolute no taste in the food....Not even a single item had any taste....the food was cold....i guess the cold attitude of that lady got transferred in the food :D...3rd- we went for our final serving of desert and saw the only desert which was on the spread was empty...That lady told us that as soon as the desert is here at the buffet counter I will inform you guys...we were at our table patiently waiting...for about 8-10 minutes....i went again to check the desert section...nd I saw the desert was already there...dat was sooOOO FU******* FRUSTRATING....4TH -its not worth the price......So unsatisfying and frustrating experience....rather the worst experience ever in US.....Would give a BIG 0 for the service, taste and f******** attitude :-/ more

We arrived at 6:25 and were promptly seated (without menus).\r \r Ten minutes later I asked for menus.\r \r Five minutes later, the rest of our party arrived and we asked for four wine glasses (we brought our own bottle).\r \r By 7:35, we were still waiting for a waitress to take our order. That's more than an HOUR after we arrived.\r \r We left and told the waitress why and she offered no apology or excuse.\r \r I cannot EVER remember walking out of a restaurant. more

A MUST!!! Truly authentic delicious Indian food in Raleigh 12/29/2011

I was looking for high quality Indian food and haven't been pleased with what the area offers until I went to Kadhai. First I'd recommend the perfectly seasoned pakora appetizer. For a main dish try the tandoori kabob which was served hot - right out of the oven. The naan was so delicious. I also tried the butter chicken which was out of this world! I had a mango lassi to drink, and it was fresh and complimented the perfectly spiced food. Service was great - the staff was friendly and very helpful in making suggestions. I've been telling everyone how great this place is, and I will definitely be back soon! more

Fantastic restaurant, great people 6/12/2011

Today was the second time we've eaten at Kadhai, and it just keeps getting better. The buffet, although it doesn't have a giant selection like some others, makes up for it with the quality of the food. Breathtaking. The food is incredible, the staff are very nice, and the atmosphere is very conducive to a great time. I HIGHLY recommend Kadhai to anyone that values quality over quantity, and I promise you won't be disappointed. more

BEST INDIAN FOOD AND I'M FROM NEW YORK CITY! 4/5/2011

I moved to Raleigh from New York City and have also lived in London---both places have excellent Indian restaurants. Neither of them, however, has Kadhai!! This is one of the finest Indian restaurants I have EVER eaten at. The sauces are simply heavenly and DELICIOUS. While I like my food a little spicy, Eugene (the head chef and owner, with his wonderful wife,) prepares your dish to please you, the customer, and can make it mild, slightly spicey, or hot. The specialties are out of this world and I just love their lamb and chicken--whether it is the Lamb Curry, Lamb Punjabi, or any of their chicken dishes. I'm sure the seafood is excellent, as well, but I haven't ordered it because I keep reordering the chicken and lamb! The naan, raised wheat Poori hot bread, Samosas and other appetizers are scrumptious. We are now frequent customers of Kadhai---Eugene won the WORLD's TOP CHEF award out of over 1,500 Indian Chef's, while he lived in the United Kingdom, and has worked as a chef in over 27 countries for such prestigious restaurants and hotels as Le Meridien (Niece, France), Pinehurst (head chef, North Carolina) as well as in Edinborough, Scotland. Raleigh is fortunate to have a chef and supporting family with such talent, high quality and stature. The restaurant is hard to find and is located behind the Starbuck's off of Glenwood Avenue, but is it ever worth the hunt! Robert K Raleigh, NC more

OUTSTANDING! Don't miss this gem! 3/7/2011

Best Indian food in the triangle!!!!! 11/14/2010

This is my new FAVORITE Indian Restaurant in the triangle area. They have a fantastic lunch buffet seven days a week. Dinner is lovely and my favorite is lunchtime where I can get a little bit of many different dishes. I have yet to find anything I do not adore here - I am bringing all my friends. I have been about 6 times in the last 6 months. YUMMIE!!!!! :) more

Indian food of Raleigh, Kadhai tops it all! 9/27/2010

This indian style buffet was a tremendous experience for my taste buds! Usually, I'm not too much of a fan of spicy foods, but the chefs mixture of spice and flavor made my mouth water. This is an amazing restaurant with a quality service staff and a great environment. I tip my hat to this chef for a wonderful meal. more

Absolutely Delicious! 9/26/2010

I just enjoyed the buffet at Kadhai for the second time. Both times have been absolutely delicious! Chef Gomes prepares excellent foods and there is so much to choose from on the menu. We were treated to a carving demonstration as well and were able to watch Chef Gomes carve beautiful art from fruit and vegetables. He is very talented and we very much enjoyed our visit. more

Our Favorite Indian Restaurant 9/25/2010

We found this gem of a restaurant with a simple Google search. You would never find it if you needed a large, overstated presence. It is tucked away in a shopping mall. We have loved it every time we have visited, which is three times in the last 6 weeks. We brought different sets of friends for each visit and all enjoyed it even though it was a first time for this type of cuisine. The food is delicious. The staff is attentive and helpful in sorting through the large menu. They are all proud of what they offer and really want you to enjoy your experience. Again, the food is delicious and I can hardly wait to get to last night's leftovers waiting in the refrigerator! more

Amazing! 7/31/2010

My family of 6 had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant the other night and I must say - what a pleasant experience. My 9 yr old kept saying it was such a great place to eat because the kids meals were delicious, the mango ""smoothie"" was awesome and the music was so relaxing. The attention to detail could be seen throughout the entire meal. From the attentive wait staff that made sure our glass kept full to the vegetable art work that came with each course. Our dinner was served in a copper pot with a votive candle underneath to make sure our dinner didn't get cold. Even the head chef came out to make sure our dinner was to our liking. There was more than enough food, and what we couldn't eat, we brought home for lunch the next day. If you are ever in the Glenwood Ave area, I would highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back again! Pros: wait staff, music, FOOD! Cons: can't think of any more

A Delicious Find 7/14/2010

My husband and I were excited to find Kadhai this weekend. The staff was very personable and helpful and we enjoyed the Kadhai Paneer (excellent) and the Chicken Korma which was also very good. The vegetable samosas and bread basket were great alongside dinner (our favorite was the onion bread). We don't often go out for Indian with our kids because they don't like it but we will definitely be taking them to Kadhai. Not only do they have a kids menu (which we were pleasantly surprised by) but they also have some Indian dishes we thinks the kids might be willing to try. We are looking forward to going back! Pros: Warm and helpful staff Cons: none come to mind! more

Raleigh's Best Indian Food 6/17/2010

Folks you need to treat yourself to the fantastic food at Kadhai, especially the lunch buffet. No kidding...its very very good and a bargin at 7.95, with lots of selections hot and cold, veg or meat. The owner chef is personable and talented and does care about his craft and the service is friendly and generally very good.\r You do get a sense of community from these folks and they seem greatful to be in business and glad to have you with them and happy with your experience.\r The decor is agreeably done not over blown gaudy, or overblown contemporary, and is comfortable-simple.\r \r As with every Indian resturant I' ve been to; the dinner menu is ala carte' which is always problematic and expensive unless you dinner-dine with multiple people ""family-style"" which works out ok if with agreeable company.\r A brief note on the reference of not being ""authentic/spicy/hot"" enough...have to call BS on that...its close as anyone should expect on a buffet, after all too hot is not going to appeal to the greater numbers of people whatever their culture. I would also like to point out (even to Indian natives, most who know already) Indian food is not always HOT and spicy doesnt always mean HOT....and of course ala carte meals are available any time they are open and can be made to order at any level of spice or heat...I know because I asked about this myself the first time I ate there... because I like both extra spicy, and hot myself. The folks/chef were quick to offer custom dish of any kind I wanted when inquired about....simple manners, kind response....nice people, great food...\r JUST GO you'll see.... Pros: excellent food/service...lunch buffet bargin Cons: none beyond usual Indian ala-carte dinner menu more

As Good As Any Manhattan Indian Restaurant! 6/12/2010

We had the good fortune to enjoy a wonderful meal at Kadhai while visiting family in the Raleigh area. We often eat in Indian restaurants in New York City where we are from and we all agreed that our meal far surpassed any we have eaten at home. We asked that our food be prepared ""spicy"" and we were impressed by the nuanced flavors and high quality of the ingredients. We ordered lassi, appetizers, spinach, butter chicken, a shrimp dish, a bread basket that had 4 different types of bread, etc. We were served very generous portions and ate until we couldn't eat another bite! The service was friendly and efficient. Pros: Expertly seasoned, authentic dishes. Warm family vibe. Cons: None. more
