Best Restaurant in University City! 5/14/2009

I would strongly recommend their tandoori chicken and their veggie roll-- absolutely unique and delicious! Best naan I've had in Philly, too, and their special green sauce makes everything even better. Their food is consistently perfectly cooked and they appreciate their regulars. We go here at least once a week, and I would recommend it to anyone! Pros: Delicious food Cons: A little run down more

Editorial review from GrubHub 11/25/2008

I've always been a fan of Kabobeesh and some items aren't quite as amazing as others. The Lahori Chargha and the Chicken Karahi are absolutely amazing but they take forever to prepare. Knowing the time for preparing the Karahi I ordered my food over an hour before I wanted to eat. It was totally worth the wait. more

AWESOME BYO!!! 11/17/2008

The place looked a bit scarey when we first got there. But the reviews said it was great so we stayed. The food was perfect! Usually at a grill, they over cook the meat, but not here. The service was friendly and it's BYO!! Great price. Would so go back. Pros: price, food Cons: not fancy more

Good bbq and perhaps the most authentic north Indian food in Philadelphia 1/11/2007

Housed in an old diner with simple diner-style tables and booths and a large screen tv showing Pakistani soaps, music videos and bizarre talk shows on one side of the room, this restaurant brings a welcome bit of Queens to Philadelphia. The menu has two parts, kabobs (lamb, chicken, fish, quail and beef), and stews that change daily. Some of the weekend specials such as Paya (trotter stew) and Haleem (barley and beef porridge) are hard to come by outside New York. Their tandoori breads are head and shoulders above what is normally available at Indian restaurants, as is their biryani and bbq. This is comfort food for many people as the taxi drivers who are always eating there will readily attest. Some of the stews can be somewhat oily, and the decor is minimalist at best, but the people are very nice and the prices reasonable. Pros: Good food, good prices Cons: Don't go there for the ambience! more
