Original and Fresh – Great restaurant! more

Editorial review from GrubHub 7/13/2013

Yum! Things were wrapped in foil inside the togo container so they stayed quite warm. more

Friendly owner and good food 10/3/2009

The owner came out to share my experience in Thailand to see the differences I detected in the food from my experiences while traveling there. Pretty cool! Very humble man who grew up in Thailand more

Spicy as you want it! 4/18/2009

We found KaProw 3 years ago when we moved to Austin and have never been dissapointed. Outstanding quality and service. I think my ""favorite"" thing about this place is the option to have your food as spicy as you want..be warned..order it ""10"" and be ready for fireworks! So if you love spicy food or watch Man vs food and want to try something over the top hot this is the place ..try the pad ped /10 -hot.. (my fav)\r \r *great lunch specials and the sushi happy hour is a bargin and always fresh and super yummie! Pros: Consistantly great food. Cons: n/a more

you can never miss here 3/10/2009

great crab cakes and much more more

Yum! 9/9/2008

Been here a couple of times - I highly recommend the Ka Prow Fried Rice, a glass of the plum wine, and sticky rice with green tea ice cream for dessert. The perfect Friday night meal! Great place for a date too, got a great atmosphere :) more

Definitely some of the best Thai food in the area 5/13/2008

This small restaurant, located in a nondescript strip mall, offers some of the best Thai food in Austin. The chef is a genius, everything that is served there is extremely tasty and well prepared. Pros: Fantastic food Cons: May not be ideal for a ""night out"" dinner because of the location more

Do not miss out on this place~ 1/16/2008

Our search is over for world class taste, just about anything you get there will be top shelf!!! Don't miss out Pros: Real food, great price, no wait more

A great place for North Austinites to eat Thai!! 10/7/2007

I frequent this restuarant at least once a week. They probably know me by name now! They know exactly what I want and how I like it and I absolutely LOVE the pure flavors they offer with every dish. 5 stars? More like 10!!! \r Well done, KaProw!\r \r Dont miss their online menu at KAPROWLEAF.C O M !! Pros: They're super friendly and helpful waitstaff and cooks Cons: None! more

Not bad for the price 8/5/2007

I was looking for a good Pad Thai yesterday, so I found Ka-Prow, close to my location. I knew I only wanted carry our. I went there, and the service was quick and friendly. The prices were reasonable for what I got. The appetizer, an ""Avocano"" was delicious. It is an avocado stuffed with crab meat and those great little black beady things that come on sushi, with a yummy butter/cheese sauce on top. The Pad Thai was packed well for carryout, with the beansprouts separated so as not to get them soggy. The Pad Thai was only Okay, but it satisfied my craving. I would go again, but I will continue to seek out a better Pad Thai. The next time I go, I will try something else as an entree. more

Great Thai! 6/28/2007

I have eaten Thai all over the US. Fortunately two of the best places that I've eaten at are Ka-Prow and Madam Mams (downtown next to UT). Anyone who says this food is bland is bland themselves. In fact it is the complete opposite. On traditional dishes like Pad Ped, this restaurant goes above and beyond to put there own spice of life on the dish which makes it especially tasty. The waiting staff is very pleasant and does not hesitate to refill a drink or make sure you have everything you want. I would not recommend this spot as a romantic get away but if you are looking for a pleasant evening in a relaxing environment (live jazz music), I highly recommend this restaurant.\r \r On a side note, I've eaten at every restaurant that claims to have spicy dishes in Austin. Ka-Prow by FAR makes the spiciest dishes without loosing their delicious Thai flavors. Although they will make the dish to your desired spiciness, if you should chose to go really spicy, be warned! Pros: Wait staff, Live jazz music, wonderful flavor, TRUE spicy food (if you want it that way), price is very fair. Company meeting or lunch approved. Cons: Although a relaxing restaurant, not a romantic restaurant. more

Fresh and Delicious Appetizers! 4/23/2007

Have you tried Ka-Prow yet? I was introduced to it a couple of months ago and I LOVED it! We tried a variety of appetizers and loved every one. The steamed dumplings were just about the best I've tasted anywhere. Same for the spring rolls and sauce. Just amazing. The crab cakes and coconut shrimp were also fantastic. The sauce that came with the crab cakes was a little bit too spicy for me, but for most folks it would probably be just fine. Now whenever we go back, we order these same appetizers, the plum wine and make a meal of it! We loved these appetizers THAT MUCH! Pros: Ambience, parking, service, delicious appetizers Cons: Small space. Will get crowded once word gets out how amazing this place is. more

Best thai in Austin. hands down. 1/22/2007

I used to love Bangkok Cuisine's food until I tried Ka-Prow. The curries are awesome, and they make the food wonderfullly spicy with thai peppers if you ask for it. I am vegetarian, and don't have too many options other than tofu curries at most Thai places.....Ka-Prow even has vegetarian sushi rolls called Dune rolls that are great! I have yet to have anything in this restaurant that didn't beat any other Thai food that I have ever had. I reccommend this place highly, and if you're a fan of Thai food...and don't like your curries all watery, please try this place. Pros: Food, and very knowledgeable waitstaff. Cons: none. more

genius! 11/18/2006

dumplings, pad thai, sushi rolls all in one place! heck yes! its a long ways away from the austin action, but if you are in the mood for dinner and a movie come here and catch a movie at a theater up north. or if you have to do a lot of boring shopping, there's a home store and an electronics store and all that type of stuff nearby. come with two or three other people so you can sample a lot of stuff. Pros: something for everyone Cons: far away more

Best Panang! Edamame! Salad! Green Tea Ice Cream! 9/19/2006

Hands down, eating the panang chicken at Ka-prow, is as close to an out-of-body experience as one can get from food. In addition, the salad with its extremely fresh ingredients coupled with the sweet but spicy dressing, is the ulimate start to a great meal. Order the edamame as a starter...NOW! If you haven't had the green tea ice cream, stop whatever you are doing and go, go get it, as fast as you can. Pros: Consistently impeccable food and service more

Try the Tiger Cried or the Duck Curry! 9/13/2006

I live in N. Austin, and it's a bit of a no man's land when it comes to good food. I decided to check out Ka-Prow when they first opened and was not dissappointed. I've tried many menu items and the staff is always ready to reccommend a specific item or wine. If Chef O is around he always makes a point to come over and make sure everyone is happy and to answer any questions. There is always something new to try on the specials board, and the food is always flavorful, not over-seasoned. Plus, if you like it hot, they'll really make it hot for you! Great food from around Asia. Pros: Authentic Pan-Asian, knowledgeable staff, great food Cons: wish the seating was a tad more intimate more

A bit expensive, and a bit of a disappointment 7/16/2006

I'm not a sushi-eater, so I can't comment on that. \r \r I had seen a number of ultra-positive reviews for this restaurant before trying it out, so perhaps my expectations were too high? I loved the fresh green pepper buds (the whole bud, not just the peppercorn), but the rest of the meal was a disappointment. The entrees didn't have depth of flavor, and seemed (I'm no expert) MSG-heavy. Staff was polite, parking was easy, decor was ordinary. Pros: Live jazz some evenings Cons: Just ordinary. more

Fresh Ingredients Are a Plus! 7/14/2006

Ka-Prow has some of the most fresh ingredients for Austin restaurants. The waitstaff are very helpful and gave some great recommendations. The food is a bit on the spicy side, so don't forget to ask for 'mild' if needed! Great sushi as well, which was a welcome surprise. I highly recommend this restaurant! more

Modern ambience meets authenticate Thai Food 5/19/2006

Ka-Prow is a great place for dates, or for families. Has a diverse menu and sushi offering as well. The cook pays special attention to his diners by visiting and getting their opinions of the food. The food is tasty and a great way to introduce yourself or someone else to the great taste of Thai food. Pad se ewt, pad thai, Pad Kai Mau, or Pad Kra Prow are good choices to try. There are some great dessert choices from the traditional thai selection. Sticky Rice with ice cream is a favorite. Pros: Quick Seating, Great Service, Good Price Cons: small accomdations, limited drink menu more

Fantastic! 4/11/2006

Fantastic food since the opening night. Very friendly staff. Fresh, artfully done sushi. Great regular entrees for people who think sushi is the japanese word for ""bait."" Pros: Inexpenisve, Great Parking, Excellent Overall Cons: Small seating area, live music too loud more
