One of the best in Davis! 1/21/2011

For the price and quality, this is one of my favorite sushi buffets. It's a little cheaper than most during lunch which is a plus and they have an very big assortment! The only thing is sometimes you have to wait a really long time after you order until your food comes out, which is kind of a hassle if you're on a short lunch break. Service is good besides the wait for the actual food though! more

Awesome All You Can Eat Sushi At An Amazing Price!! 2/25/2009

This is our favorite sushi place in Davis. We even moved away, now live in Carmichael, and still travel all the way back to Davis to eat here! They have a great selection of tasty food for a great price, all you can eat for around $10 during lunch!! They have the best miso soup and gold Kojicha tea around! The staff is awesome! It is across the street from Fuji's, which always has a line around the corner, I don't know why, that place's sushi made me gag, Jusco is certainly the better of the two, and I'm certainly hard to please when it comes to sushi. Definitely check it out! Pros: Great Food Amazing Price more

Great Sushi Buffet! 3/1/2008

I've been to this restaurant twice when I visited Davis. I first went to the Sushi place across the street, but found it to be not only pricy but also a very long wait. I went to Jusco, thinking that at least I won't have to wait. I thought that the food would be average because there was only a slight wait. To my surprise, the food was absolutely great! I marked what I wanted on the menu pages they had. They brought out really good rice tea--the quality kind and not just the watered down version that you see at a lot of restaurants. The owner and staff were nice and service was quick. All their buffet items were quite good, and there was a lot of variety, such as the usual tempura, california rolls, spicy tuna rolls, dragon rolls, etc. Their salt and pepper shrimp is to die for. Great food at a good price Pros: Quick service, great food Cons: Parking on streets, small area more

Better than Fugi's AND without the wait! 9/20/2007

I'm a long time fan of Jusco. I stumbled in one day while back in college when I decided the wait at Fugi's was too obscene (and that it would be time for dinner before I got seated for lunch!). I was pleasantly surprised and became an instant convert. Those who lambaste Jusco just don't know how great it really can be. The staff is fast and friendly. The rolls are super tasty and the selection of fish, especially for dinner, is really quite good (it's been awhile since I've been there for lunch so I'm not as familiar with their lunch menu). Sure people line up at Fuji's down the street but that's only because they are following the crowds and don't know how great a deal and how wonderful a find Jusco really is. How good is it? Since graduating and moving out of Davis I still come back into town just to eat at Jusco. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi buffets and hates waiting to be seated. Pros: Great selection of fish, fast service, tasty rolls (nigiri), and super friendly staff. Cons: Sometimes parking is a mess and sometimes the wasabi could be spicier. more

Less than desirable, more than once 6/14/2007

For a sushi lover like myself, a sushi buffet needs to be very good or I won't bother. I'd rather spend more for better sushi. There are some outstanding sushi buffets around. Sadly, this one isn't so great. Clearly others feel the same, since the more expensive buffet across the street can have an hour wait, while Jusco has empty tables. I've been there maybe 5 times, the best visit was only ok. Twice they overcharged me and I had to have my tab corrected. This seemed unusual to me, since the price was a fixed amount and I was a party of one. The selection can be very limited, they rarely (if ever) serve hamachi at lunch. The last time I went, they had little forms that you fill out to request your food. The servers would readily bring choices such as gyoza or california rolls, while ""forgetting"" the salmon or tuna over and again. Beyond that, the place was not very clean. Those five visits spanned quite a period of time, maybe 3 years. I kept thinking they'd improve, but I finally gave up. They do have great salt-n-pepper shrimp. Pros: cheap, fast seating Cons: limited variety, poor service, cramped seating more

Best Sushi Buffet in Davis 11/25/2006

I'm surprised to see that I'm the first to review this little hole-in-the-wall Japanese restaurant....... Pros: Fresh, tasty variety of ""nigiri"" sushi Cons: no beer to wash it down :( more
